Abstract

Students in the Master of Basic Education program have diverse backgrounds. However, innovative abilities have not grown because teaching experience has not been accompanied by experience using technology and vice versa. This study aims to develop students' innovative thinking skills through a learning model that is project-based learning with a paired novice expert model. This type of research is pre-experimental design with a sample of 38 Master of Basic Education students. Questionnaire filling was used to assess students' perspectives on innovative thinking skills before and after treatment and an assessment rubric to assess the product. Data from the questionnaire was analyzed using the Wilcoxon test and the resulting product was analyzed descriptively quantitatively. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that innovative thinking skills can be developed. Teamwork is an aspect that has improved very well compared to the other four aspects of innovative thinking skills. The results of project completion show that on average, innovative thinking skills have developed well. The contextualized learning environment by presenting real problems related to the learning process of students in elementary schools is able to stimulate students' ability to solve problems. Problem solving is also done well because the diverse backgrounds of individuals in the group contribute to each other and work well together.

Abstract

Differentiated instruction has emerged as a pivotal approach to addressing the diverse learning needs of elementary school students, particularly in enhancing mathematical concept comprehension. This study aims to investigate the impact of differentiated instruction on improving mathematical understanding among students with varying abilities in elementary schools. Utilizing a literature review method, this research synthesizes findings from peer-reviewed journals indexed in SINTA and Scopus over the past five years. The results reveal that differentiated teaching strategies, such as live worksheet-based e-LKPD, educational games like INDITGO-MATH, and learning stations, have significantly increased student comprehension by up to 32%. Furthermore, these strategies have been effective in boosting motivation and engagement, contributing to an inclusive and adaptive learning environment. Despite the evident benefits, challenges such as limited teacher training and preparation time persist (Pamungkas, 2024). To overcome these barriers, the integration of digital learning resources and intensive teacher training has proven to be a feasible solution. This study recommends that elementary schools implement differentiated instruction more widely, supported by adequate resources and continuous professional development. The findings underscore the importance of developing interactive learning materials that align with differentiated teaching to further optimize learning outcomes across varying student abilities.

Abstract

This research explores questioning skills in the digital age as an essential competency in modern education. These skills support students' cognitive development, strengthen teacher-student interaction and promote critical thinking. This study examines teachers' tasks and challenges in developing students' questioning skills using digital technology. The approach used is a systematic literature review that analyzes recent articles to identify effective strategies as well as barriers faced by teachers. The findings show that technology-based strategies, such as project learning and virtual simulations, improve students' questioning skills by creating an interactive learning environment. However, barriers such as the digital divide and teachers limited technological expertise hinder full implementation. This research provides recommendations for technology-integrated teacher training to enhance effective questioning skills. The implication is that collaboration between teachers and curriculum developers is necessary to optimally utilize technology opportunities and create critical and meaningful learning experiences in the digital era.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out whether there is a comparison of the increase in critical thinking skills and student engagement between students who study using the teaching at the right level (TARL) approach and students who study using the conventional approach. The approach used in this research is mixed method. Based on the results of descriptive data analysis for the experimental class, the mean score for the students' pretest = 53.46 and posttest = 83.46. while in the control class the results were the student's average pretest score = 51.53 and the posttest = 75.36. This means that there is a difference in the increase in students' critical thinking abilities before and after being given learning using the TaRL approach. Meanwhile, the results of student involvement in the experimental class are that students can actively participate in class discussions, students can ask questions to obtain further information, students can work independently, students can solve problems flexibly, and students want to get satisfactory grades. Meanwhile, in the control class, the indicators achieved are fewer, namely students can ask questions to get further information, students can get to know teachers at school, students can work independently, so it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in increasing critical thinking skills and student involvement between students who study with the TARL approach and students who study with the conventional approach.

Abstract

Mathematics anxiety (MA) is a common issue in primary education, negatively impacting students' academic performance, motivation, and confidence in mathematics. This study addresses existing gaps by systematically analyzing global trends, theoretical foundations, causes, and effective interventions for MA. A systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted using PRISMA guidelines, which included the stages of identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion. Articles analyzed from the Scopus database were published between 2014 and 2024. The findings reveal a significant rise in MA research in recent years, with major contributions from China and the UK. Key theoretical foundations include anxiety and cognitive load theories, emphasizing the interplay between emotional and cognitive factors in MA development. Major causes of MA include cognitive limitations, gender, and curriculum. Effective interventions involve pedagogical approaches, psychological strategies, teacher support, and technology integration. These approaches include active learning, mindfulness techniques, and the use of interactive digital tools. This study highlights the importance of collaboration among educators, policymakers, and researchers to mitigate MA's impact and foster positive mathematical experiences for primary school students.
