Abstract

Improving the quality of education in Indonesia continues to be pursued through various curriculum innovations, one of which is the Merdeka Curriculum, emphasizing project-based, flexible, and student centered learning. This study aims to analyze the influence of Merdeka Curriculum implementation on students’ interest in learning mathematics in the Computer and Network Engineering (TKJ) program at SMK Swasta Teladan Pematangsiantar. Learning interest is a critical variable as it contributes significantly to learning effectiveness and academic outcomes, especially in mathematics a subject often perceived as challenging. A quantitative approach was applied using a survey method with a Likert-scale questionnaire distributed to 65 respondents who had experienced the Merdeka Curriculum for at least one semester. Instrument validity and reliability were tested using SmartPLS, with results showing all constructs met convergent validity (AVE > 0.5) and reliability standards (Composite Reliability > 0.9). The coefficient of determination (R²) reached 0.6405, indicating that the Merdeka Curriculum explains 64.05% of the variance in students’ interest in learning mathematics. Hypothesis testing through bootstrapping revealed a path coefficient of 0.8003, a t-statistic of 19.2392, and a p-value of 0.000, confirming a significant and positive influence. This study concludes that the Merdeka Curriculum effectively enhances students’ interest in learning mathematics, although its success depends on the readiness of teachers, educational facilities, and supportive learning environments.

Abstract

Bullying in schools remains a problem that affects students’ comfort, mental health, and social development. This condition highlights the need for preventive efforts that do not focus solely on the enforcement of rules, but also aim to enhance students’ awareness and empathy. This article aims to describe the implementation of a Community Service activity in the form of humanistic-based anti-bullying counseling conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Siantar. The activity was carried out through several stages, including problem identification, planning, counseling implementation, reflection, and evaluation. The counseling involved students and teachers and was delivered using interactive methods through discussions and shared reflection. The results of the activity indicate that students gained a deeper understanding of the types and impacts of bullying and began to demonstrate more caring and respectful attitudes in their daily interactions. This activity contributes positively to bullying prevention efforts and supports the creation of a safe, comfortable, and humane school environment.

Abstract

Matematika memegang peranan krusial dalam eksistensi manusia, matematika menjadi fondasi untuk mengasah kapabilitas penalaran logis, analitis, serta pemecahan persoalan. Salah satu metode yang efektif dalam menghubungkan konsep-konsep matematis dengan situasi riil adalah etnomatematika. Studi ini dirancang untuk menggali dan mengkaji prinsip-prinsip geometri yang terintegrasi dalam arsitektur Rumah Bolon Batak Toba dan dinamika pelaksanaaan permainan tradisional Engklek, yang kesemuanya dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber alternatif pembelajaran matematika yang relevan dengan konteks budaya setempat. Studi ini mengadopsi metodologi kualitatif melalui pendekatan etnografi, yang diaplikasikan melalui observasi dan pengumpulan dokumen pada dua subjek budaya. Temuan studi mengindikasikan bahwa Rumah Bolon dan Engklek keduanya menampilkan beragam bentuk geometris, termasuk persegi, persegi panjang, segitiga, dan trapesium. Modul-modul ini juga mencakup konsep-konsep seperti simetri, kesamaan, dan keseimbangan. Korespondensi dalam pola bentuk ini mengindikasikan penerapan prinsip-prinsip matematika secara naluriah dalam praktik budaya masyarakat. Penggabungan nilai-nilai budaya lokal ke dalam pendidikan matematika tidak hanya meningkatkan relevansi materi pembelajaran, tetapi juga meningkatkan apresiasi terhadap warisan budaya. Oleh karena itu, Rumah Bolon dan Engklek dapat berfungsi sebagai sarana edukatif yang efisien untuk memperdalam pemahaman siswa mengenai konsep geometri, sekaligus menjadi fondasi untuk pengembangan materi pembelajaran berbasis etnomatematika di masa depan.
