Abstract

This community service program focuses on addressing legal issues arising from conflicts between customary land rights and corporate interests, with the aim of strengthening legal awareness and legal culture among the residents of Tumang Village, Siak Regency. The initiative stems from the observation that legal awareness within the partner community remains suboptimal—particularly regarding the resolution of land disputes between residents and corporations through local customary law mechanisms. The program seeks to contribute to the strengthening of legal awareness and legal culture within the community. Activities are conducted in the form of seminars, open dialogues, and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs). The program is implemented in four stages: assessment, outreach/dissemination, core activities, and evaluation. The results demonstrate the community's enthusiasm for learning about land dispute resolution mechanisms—specifically concerning customary land—in situations involving corporations granted state permits to control land that overlaps with the village's territory
