The character building of students is strongly influenced by families and caregivers at Pesantren Roudlotut Thullab Magelang. In shaping the character of students, parents and caregivers work together to supervise the growth and development of children when at home and when in pesantrens. In character building at Pesantren Roudlotut Thullab Magelang, caregivers and all staff carry out a continuous teaching and learning process both through lessons in formal and non-formal educational institutions.  In addition, to shape the character of students is also done by making rules that must not be violated and if one commits a violation, students are subject to punishment, this is done so that students get used to being disciplined and responsible students. Further character building is also carried out by motivating all students, one of which is motivation from families and caregivers of pesantrens. The key to the success of education management in character building through the role of family and the example of caregivers at Pesantren Roudlotut Thullab Magelang is that both have paid attention to POAC (planning, organizing, actuating, controlling).

Abstract

This research aims to explore the essence of social values contained in the Nganta Petuloh tradition in the community of Koto Petai, Kerinci Regency. This tradition, which is a form of mutual cooperation and mutual assistance in the context of celebrations or celebrations, has strong roots in local culture and serves to strengthen social relations between citizens. Through interviews with local communities, the study identified values such as empathy, solidarity, and help that are internalized in daily life. The results of the study show that Nganta Petuloh plays an important role in strengthening social ties, even though it is currently facing challenges due to social changes and declining interest of the younger generation. The influence of Qur'anic teachings is also evident in this practice, reflecting how religious values are manifested in community life. To ensure the sustainability of this tradition, this study recommends preservation efforts through education and innovation that can attract the interest of new generations. Thus, Nganta Petuloh is not only a tradition, but also a vital means in building a community that is in solidarity and supporting each other.

Abstract

This study examined: (1) the relationship between self-regulated learning and numeracy literacy, (2) the relationship between academic resilience and numeracy literacy, and (3) their joint association with numeracy literacy among fifth-grade elementary students. The novelty of this study lies in integrating self-regulated learning and academic resilience into a single model of numeracy literacy at the elementary level, whereas prior studies have mostly examined these variables separately or in secondary education contexts. Using a quantitative correlational design, data were collected from 106 fifth-grade students of SD Muhammadiyah Condongcatur selected through purposive sampling. Instruments included questionnaires on self-regulated learning and academic resilience, and a numeracy literacy test. Data were analyzed using simple and multiple linear regression. The results showed that self-regulated learning and academic resilience were significantly associated with numeracy literacy, both partially and jointly. Self-reflection was the strongest dimension of self-regulated learning, while persistence was the dominant dimension of academic resilience. These findings suggest that numeracy literacy is closely linked to students’ reflective learning regulation and academic persistence.
