Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) has a central role in shaping the character and mindset of students at the secondary school level. In the context of 21st century education, the development of critical thinking skills is an essential requirement to create a generation capable of facing global challenges. This literature study aims to analyze how PAI can contribute significantly to the development of critical thinking in secondary school students. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach by reviewing various relevant journals, books, and scientific articles. The results of the study indicate that a dialogic, contextual, and problem-based PAI learning approach can stimulate students to think analytically, reflectively, and logically. Five important aspects in this discussion include the integration of Islamic values in critical thinking, active learning methods, the role of teachers as facilitators, a classroom environment that supports discussion, and learning evaluations that challenge students' analytical abilities. Thus, PAI is not only a means of instilling spiritual values, but also a vehicle for forming critical and constructive mindsets. In conclusion, strengthening the PAI curriculum that supports the development of critical thinking is very important to create graduates who are religious and think rationally.

Abstract

The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in modern education has increased significantly, especially since the Society 5.0 era, which emphasizes the integration of technology with human needs. AI has been used for various learning functions, such as personalized content, adaptive learning, automated assessments, virtual tutors, and real-time analysis of student learning progress. This literature review aims to identify the challenges and opportunities for implementing AI in modern learning across various educational contexts. The analysis of current literature indicates that AI holds significant potential for improving learning effectiveness through the automation of teacher administrative tasks, increased access to digital learning resources, and the development of data-driven personalized learning models. However, key challenges identified include school infrastructure readiness, teacher digital skills, algorithm accuracy, data bias, and ethical issues related to student data privacy and security. These literature findings provide insight that the success of AI implementation in schools is heavily influenced by technological readiness, clear regulations, and increased educator capacity in AI literacy. Therefore, AI implementation is not only a technological transformation but also a pedagogical transformation and digital culture within the education ecosystem. This research provides a theoretical foundation for policy development, implementation models, and further research on AI in future education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of religious moderation in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at SD Negeri 18 Kalosi and examine how teachers integrate moderation values into learning to strengthen students' character. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation to capture classroom dynamics and the school's support for developing moderate attitudes. Findings show that teachers apply varied strategies, including contextual explanations, group discussions, role modeling, and positive behavioral habits, to promote tolerance, respect for differences, and cooperation. School programs, such as inclusive religious activities, character-building routines, and community service, further reinforce these values through practical experiences. As a result, students demonstrate increasingly moderate behavior, including empathy, collaboration, and respect for diversity. The study highlights that the synergy between teacher practices and supportive school programs is essential for effectively internalizing moderation values in students.
