Abstract

Literary appreciation is an activity that involves understanding, interpreting, and experiencing literary works by readers. At the elementary school level, literary appreciation not only introduces children to a variety of literary texts, but also makes a significant contribution to the development of language skills, both oral and written. This article is a literature study that aims to examine various research results and theories related to the role of literary appreciation in developing elementary school children's language skills. The results of the study show that literary appreciation activities such as reading aloud, storytelling, role-playing, and rewriting stories can improve listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Children's literature that is rich in vocabulary, varied sentence structures, and cultural values ​​is an effective means of strengthening children's linguistic abilities holistically. In addition, this activity also fosters interest in reading and forms critical and imaginative thinking skills. This study recommends that teachers in elementary schools consistently integrate literary appreciation in Indonesian language learning as a contextual, communicative, and enjoyable approach.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penggunaan model pembelajaran Make A Match dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia mengenai pantun, serta dampaknya terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas V SD GMIT Uitao. Metode yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, masing-masing terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah 18 siswa kelas V. Hasil evaluasi awal menunjukkan hanya 44% siswa yang mencapai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM). Setelah menerapkan model Make A Match, terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar yang signifikan, dengan ketuntasan siswa naik menjadi 100% pada siklus II. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa model Make A Match tidak hanya meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif, tetapi juga membuat proses pembelajaran lebih aktif dan menyenangkan. Dengan demikian, disarankan bagi guru untuk menerapkan model ini dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, khususnya pada materi pantun, untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan partisipasi siswa.

Abstract

Pancasila Education is a subject that is starting to be forgotten. Many students do not focus and respond to teachers during learning, thus affecting students' motivation and learning outcomes. The purpose of this paper is to explain the effect of Canva learning media assisted by Educaplay on students' motivation and learning outcomes in Pancasila education learning in Grade V at SD GMIT Oepura. The research is a quantitative research with a quasi-experimental approach and a Nonequivalent Group Design. The research instruments are in the form of questionnaires, test questions, and observation sheets. The population of the study was all grade V students at SD GMIT Oepura totaling 43 students. The sampling technique with total sampling until a sample of 43 was obtained. The data analysis technique in this study was descriptive analysis and bivariate Paired sample t test and Independent sample t test. The results of the study showed that hypothesis testing with the paired sample t test had a difference in the average learning motivation of students after using Canva learning media assisted by Educaplay in the Pancasila Education subject. The test results also showed that there was a difference between the level of learning outcomes before and after being given Canva learning media assisted by Educaplay. The independent sample t-test showed that there was an influence of canva learning media assisted by educaplay on student learning motivation in the control and experimental classes. The results of the statistical test also showed that there was an influence of canva learning media assisted by educaplay on the learning outcomes of grade V elementary school students at SD GMIT Oepura.

Abstract

The language skills of children with mild intellectual disabilities often experience obstacles due to limitations in intellectual function and social adaptation. One approach that can help the communication process of children with mild intellectual disabilities is the total communication technique, which is a method that combines various forms of communication such as verbal, nonverbal, sign language, visual, and body language. This community service activity aims to improve the understanding and skills of teachers and parents in implementing total communication techniques to support the language development of children with mild intellectual disabilities at SLBN Pembina Kupang. This activity was carried out for three days and involved 15 teachers and 20 parents of students. The implementation method included interactive lectures, demonstrations of total communication techniques, practical simulations in the context of everyday life, as well as mentoring and evaluation sessions. The results of the activity showed an increase in the average understanding of participants from 56% to 85% based on the pretest and posttest. In addition, participants showed better practical skills in using simple sign language, facial expressions, and visual aids. Teachers felt more confident in delivering lessons to students, while parents felt more able to establish meaningful communication with their children. This activity has a positive impact and can be replicated in other schools with similar conditions

Abstract

Research results by Hesty Octaviani Lodo Nawa Nim 2101140069 with the title Improving Students' Beginning Reading Skills Through Letter Card Media in Indonesian Language Subjects in Grade 2 of UPTD SD Inpres Lili, Kupang Regency. With the formulation of the problem: "Can the Use of Letter Card Media in Indonesian Language Learning Improve the Early Reading Skills of Grade II Students at UPTD SD Inpres Lili, Kupang Regency?" Objective: "To find out the Improvement in Early Reading Results in Indonesian Language Learning with the Use of Letter Card Media in Grade II UPTD SD Inpres Lili, Kupang Regency." Data collection was conducted using observation and testing techniques. Data analysis techniques used descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods. The study involved 21 subjects, 14 males and 7 females. This research was conducted at the Lili Inpres Elementary School (UPTD SD Inpres Lili). The results showed that in Cycle I, 11 of the 21 students (52.38%) completed the coursework. This was due to their active involvement in the learning process, understanding the material presented by the teacher, and working collaboratively in groups to complete the worksheets assigned by the teacher. Meanwhile, 10 students (47.61%) did not complete the coursework due to a lack of concentration during learning activities, a lack of collaboration with their group mates, and a tendency to tell stories and play during the lesson. Furthermore, in Cycle II, student learning outcomes improved, with 19 of the 21 students (90.47%) completing the coursework. This was due to more active, concentrated, and directly involved learning activities, as well as working collaboratively in groups to complete the worksheets assigned by the teacher. Based on the research results and discussion above, it can be concluded that the use of the problem-based learning model can improve students' learning outcomes in the material on reading words that are often encountered every day at the UPTD SD Inpres Lili.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas III D di UPTD SD Inpres Liliba Kota Kupang. Siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami isi bacaan secara menyeluruh, sehingga berdampak pada rendahnya hasil belajar Bahasa Indonesia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC). Metode yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian adalah 32 siswa kelas III D. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, tes, dan dokumentasi.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa setelah diterapkannya model CIRC. Nilai rata-rata siswa meningkat dari 69 pada siklus I menjadi 93 pada siklus II. Selain itu, keterlibatan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran juga meningkat. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah model pembelajaran tipe CIRC efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa sekolah dasar. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah model CIRC dapat menjadi alternatif strategi pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia yang mendorong keterlibatan aktif siswa dan pemahaman bacaan yang lebih baik.
