Abstract

Education is one of the main pillars in shaping individual character and personality. In an increasingly complex globalization era, challenges in education lie not only in academic aspects but also in the development of moral and ethical values. Value-based education becomes essential to create a generation that is not only intellectually smart but also possesses good character and high social awareness. This research aims to explore and analyze how value-based education can be integrated with ethics and morals in the learning process to educate the younger generation. By understanding the relationship between value-based education and character development, it is hoped that more effective strategies for its implementation in schools can be found. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a case study design. This study involves data collection through in-depth interviews with educators and students, as well as document analysis related to the value-based education curriculum. The research population consists of several schools in various regions, with purposive sampling taken to obtain relevant and in-depth information. The results of the study indicate that value-based education has a positive impact on students' character development. The integration of moral values into the curriculum can enhance students' social awareness and empathy, as well as reduce negative behaviors among them. Furthermore, this research found that challenges in implementing value-based education are often caused by a lack of training for educators and support from school management. Thus, this research provides significant contributions to the development of better and sustainable education for the younger generation.

Abstract

Creativity is one of the important competencies that needs to be developed in students, especially at the elementary school level. However, in the learning practices at madrasah ibtidaiyah, the development of students' creativity is still not optimal because learning tends to be teacher-centered . This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Project-Based Learning (PJBL) model in increasing the creativity of fifth-grade students at MI Bustanul Ulum 02 Mlokorejo. This study used a quantitative approach with an experimental research type and a One-Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The research subjects consisted of 20 fifth-grade students. The research instrument was a creativity test covering the indicators of fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The data were analyzed using the Shapiro–Wilk normality test and the paired sample t-test with the help of SPSS version 25.0. The results showed that the data were normally distributed and there was a significant difference between the students' pretest and posttest creativity scores. The significance value of the paired sample t-test was 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that the PJBL learning model was effective in improving student creativity. Creativity increases in all indicators, namely fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the Project-Based Learning (PBL) model is effective in increasing the creativity of fifth-grade students at MI Bustanul Ulum 02 Mlokorejo.

Abstract

In today's digital era, technology has become an integral part of the learning process, including in mathematics education at the elementary school level. Although many studies have been conducted on the use of technology in education, there remains a gap in understanding how digital technology can specifically enhance students' understanding of mathematics. This research aims to explore the role of digital technology as a learning tool and a driver of educational innovation in improving elementary school students' understanding of mathematics. This study employs a quantitative approach involving elementary school students as research subjects. Data were collected through surveys and analysis of students' learning outcomes before and after the implementation of digital technology in mathematics learning. The findings indicate that the use of digital technology, such as interactive learning applications and educational videos, significantly enhances students' understanding of mathematical concepts. Students engaged in technology-based learning showed increased motivation and better learning outcomes compared to traditional teaching methods. The study concludes that digital technology can serve as an effective tool for improving elementary school students' understanding of mathematics. With proper implementation, digital technology not only enhances learning outcomes but also creates a more engaging learning environment. This research contributes significantly to the development of mathematics teaching methods in elementary schools and provides insights for educators and policymakers on the importance of integrating technology into education.
