Abstract

Reading literacy in the digital era has become increasingly complex due to the overwhelming and often unstructured flow of information. Literacy does not develop automatically; instead, it requires deliberate efforts to foster reading interest to become a sustainable habit that supports knowledge acquisition, attitude formation, and skill development. This study aims to investigate Generation Z’s preferences, habits, and perceptions regarding the use of print and digital media, and how these media contribute to fostering reading interest. The research employed a qualitative method with data collected through an online questionnaire distributed to Generation Z students in the Ciayumajakuning region. The results reveal that while print media remains relevant for a portion of Generation Z, digital media has emerged as the dominant medium in cultivating their reading motivation and habits. Respondents highlighted print's sensory and credibility values, but emphasized the accessibility, interactivity, and variety of digital platforms as more appealing. The findings suggest that Generation Z demonstrates stronger engagement when reading materials are presented digitally. However, print media remains important in supporting deeper concentration and comprehension. This study implies that digital and print media should be integrated strategically in educational and social contexts to enhance literacy development. The study contributes to ongoing discussions on designing hybrid literacy strategies that combine the strengths of both media ecosystems to foster lifelong reading interest among Generation Z.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to improve the process and outcomes of students’ Indonesian language learning through differentiated learning. This research uses classroom action research methods. The research subjects were students of class XI IPS I SMA Negeri 8 Ternate City, totaling 34 students. The research was carried out in two cycles consisting of planning, implementation, observation and reflection stages. Data on the process of implementing differentiated learning was obtained through observation sheets of teacher and student activities. Data on student learning outcomes is obtained from learning outcomes tests. The results of the research show that there has been an increase in the process of implementing differentiated learning from cycle 1 to cycle 2. Based on an assessment of the performance indicators for the success of student learning activities, data was obtained that in cycle 1 the good category was 50%, the category was fair, the category was 20%, and the poor category was 30%. In cycle 2, there was an increase in the success of student learning activities as seen from the achievement of the good category to 85%, the fair category 10% and the poor category 5%. From the results of the assessment of teacher performance indicators in cycle 1, it can be seen that a score of 68 was achieved in the poor category. In cycle 2, there was an increase in teacher performance which was seen from achieving a score of 90 in the very good category. From the results of the analysis of the research data, it can be concluded that the implementation of differentiated learning in Indonesian language learning can improve the learning process and outcomes.

Abstract

Sebagai tenaga profesional, dosen harus memiliki empat kompetensi yang meliputi kompetensi pedagogik, profesional, sosial, dan kompetensi kepribadian. Selain itu era society 5.0 dosen dituntut memiliki kecakapan teknologi. Kompetensi tersebut menentukan mutu akademik. Penelitian ini menjelaskan persepsi mahasiswa terhadap profil dosen pendidikan bahasa dan sastra Indonesia di era society 5.0. Adapun metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kualitatif. Subjek dari penelitian ini seluruh mahasiswa tingkat dua pendidikan bahasa dan sastra Indonesia Universitas Swadaya Gunung Jati yang berjumlah 60 mahasiswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket selanjutnya dianalisis dengan model Miles and Huberman. Dari penelitian tersebut diketahui kompetensi pedagogik, kompetensi professional, kompetensi sosial, dan kepribadian dosen pendidikan bahasa dan sastra Indonesia Universitas Swadaya Gunung Jati berdasarkan perpektif mahasiswa tergolong baik.
