Abstract

Effective waste management is key to achieving a clean and sustainable city. Banjar, as a small city, is striving to achieve the Adipura award, which signifies successful environmental management. This study aims to analyze waste management efforts in Banjar and their impact on achieving the Adipura award. The methods used in this study include literature review, direct observation, and interviews with stakeholders, including the local government and community. The research results show that Banjar has implemented an innovative and participatory waste management strategy. This includes waste sorting at source, increasing the capacity of waste processing facilities, and public education campaigns to raise public awareness. These findings indicate a significant improvement in city cleanliness and a waste reduction sent to landfills. In conclusion, a holistic approach and the involvement of all stakeholders are key to the success of waste management in Banjar, which can serve as an example for other cities in achieving the Adipura award.
