Abstract

General background: Parenting style plays a crucial role in shaping children’s development, influencing attitudes, behaviors, and academic outcomes. Specific background: In the Indonesian elementary context, particularly in communities with limited parental engagement due to socioeconomic factors, the quality of parenting may directly affect children’s learning achievements. Knowledge gap: Previous studies have mostly examined parenting and academic achievement broadly, without focusing on specific school contexts or applying rigorous statistical analysis at the elementary level. Aims: This study investigates the relationship between parenting styles and academic achievement among 19 fourth-grade students at State Elementary School 258/VI Rejo Sari. Results: Data collected through questionnaires and semester test scores were analyzed using Pearson correlation and simple regression. Findings revealed a significant positive relationship (r = 0.457, p = 0.049), with parenting style explaining 26.6% of achievement variance. Novelty: Unlike earlier descriptive studies, this research provides contextualized evidence within a specific school environment and employs quantitative methods to measure the statistical contribution of parenting. Implications: The results underscore the importance of parent–teacher collaboration, consistent home learning support, and structured motivation, offering practical recommendations for educators, parents, and policymakers to improve educational quality at the elementary level. Abstract

General background: Mathematics is a fundamental discipline crucial for students’ cognitive development, yet many elementary school students in Indonesia continue to struggle with low achievement due to teacher-centered and monotonous instruction. Specific background: At SD Negeri 205/II Bangun Harjo, most fifth-grade students failed to reach the minimum mastery criteria in mathematics, indicating an urgent need for innovative learning models. Knowledge gap: Although cooperative models like Make A Match have been studied in various contexts, empirical evidence on their effectiveness in mathematics learning at the elementary level, particularly in rural settings, remains limited. Aims: This study aimed to analyze the application of the Make A Match model in improving students’ mathematics learning outcomes. Results: Using a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design with 11 participants, results revealed an increase in average scores from 56.36 (pretest) to 72.12 (posttest), while learning completeness rose from 27.27% to 63.63%. A paired samples t-test confirmed a statistically significant improvement (p = 0.012 < 0.05). Novelty: The study provides contextual evidence of Make A Match effectiveness in an underrepresented elementary school setting, complemented by rigorous instrument validation. Implications: These findings highlight the model’s potential as an engaging and practical strategy to foster active participation, collaboration, and better mathematics learning outcomes in primary education. Abstract

Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya keterampilan berhitung matematika peserta didik kelas II SDN 31/VI Rantau Panjang II, Kecamatan Tabir, Kabupaten Merangin, Provinsi Jambi. Alasan peneliti memilih model PAIKEM berbantuan media visual raindrop counting dalam pembelajaran matematika dengan materi berhiutng adalah diduga dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berhitung peserta didik serta lebih aktif dan kreatif dalam mengikuti pembelajaran matematika dikelas. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam siklus-siklus dan akan dihentikan jika sudah memenuhi indicator keberhasilan. Desain penelitian tindakan kelas ini menggunakan 2 siklus dengan model siklus dari Kurt Lewin yang memiliki 4 tahapan yaitu perencanaan (planning), tindakan pelaksanaan (acting), pengamatan (observing), dan refleksi (reflecting). Tempat penelitian di kelas II SDN 31/VI Rantau Panjang II, dengan banyak peserta didik 24 orang. Hasil analisis data penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan model PAIKEM berbantuan media visual Raindrop Counting dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berhitung peserta didik di kelas II SDN 31/VI Rantau Panjang II. Hal ini terlihat dari proses dan hasil keterampilan berhitung peserta didik pada akhir siklus II sudah mencapai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal yaitu 75. Terlihat pada lembar observasi peserta didik pada siklus I yaitu 62,5% dan pada siklus II 87,5%. Pada lembar observasi pendidik juga mengalami peningkatan yaitu pada siklus I 76,5% naik pada siklus II menjadi 93,75%. Pada hasil keterampilan berhitung peserta didik melalui soal tes mengalami peningkatan yaitu pada siklus I 76 dan siklus II 87,5%. Berdasarkan penelitian di kelas II SDN 31/VI Rantau Panjang II dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran PAIKEM berbantuan media Raindrop Counting pada materi perkalian maka dapat disimpulkan sebagai berikut: Penerapan model pembelajaran PAIKEM berbantuan media Raindrop Counting ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berhitung pada mata pelajaran matematika. Dari hasil observasi, penerapan model pembelajaran PAIKEM berbantuan media Raindrop Counting dapat terlaksana dengan baik. Hal ini dapat dibuktikan dengan meningkatnya perolehan nilai ketika pelaksanaan observasi pendidik dan peserta didik. Terdapat peningkatan keterampilan berhitung peserta didik pada mata pelajaran matematika kelas II SDN 31/VI Rantau Panjang II dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran PAIKEM berbantuan media Raindrop Counting yaitu dengan melihat tingkat ketuntasan belajar peserta didik pada setiap siklusnya

Abstract

ABSTRACT The problem in this research is that student motivation and learning outcomes in Natural Sciences subjects for class VA SDN 36/VI Rantau Panjang III are still relatively low. The aim of this research is to describe the application of the contextual learning model in the VA class on motivation and learning outcomes. The method used in this research is classroom action research (PTK). This research consists of 2 cycles, each cycle is carried out through 4 stages, namely planning, action, observation and reflection and consists of 2 meetings. Student learning motivation can be explained as follows: (1) the application of the contextual learning model can increase student learning motivation and the results of the learning motivation questionnaire show that in cycle I there was 55.45% while in cycle II it increased very well, namely 83.50%, this indicates s=tudent learning motivation increased according to the success indicator, namely 80%. The results of this research can be explained as follows: (1) the application of the contextual learning model in learning in cycle I is still not optimal. This can be seen from the tests in cycle I. Only 60.40% of students got a score within the maximum completeness criteria and 39.60% did not reach the maximum completeness criteria. (2) Student learning outcomes improved very well in cycle II. From 45% (initial observation), to 60.40% (cycle I) and 80.00% (cycle II). Keywords: Motivation, Science Learning Outcomes, Contextual Teaching Learning Model

Abstract

This classroom action research was conducted in grade IV of SDN 04//II Jaya Setia with the background of low mathematics learning outcomes of students. The average daily test score was only 50, still below the school's Target Learning Completion Criteria (KKTP) of 70. This condition prompted the research to be conducted with the aim of improving the learning process and outcomes through the application of the Open Ended approach. The research was conducted in two cycles, each covering the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects consisted of 22 students, while the data collection techniques used observation and learning outcome tests. The research results showed that the application of the Open Ended approach was very effective and significantly improved students' learning outcomes. In Cycle I, learning achievement reached only 59.09%, then increased to 86.36% in Cycle II. This improvement indicates that the Open-Ended approach encourages students' activity, creativity, and understanding, particularly in the material on multiplication and division of decimal numbers. Since the success indicators were achieved, the research was terminated in Cycle II. The implications of this study are that the Open-Ended approach can serve as an alternative strategy for mathematics instruction in elementary schools. Teachers can utilize it not only for decimal number topics but also for other materials that require idea exploration and problem-solving.

Abstract

Penelitian Tindakan Kelas ini dilaksanakan di kelas V SDN 032/II Muara Bungo dengan latar belakang rendahnya hasil belajar matematika peserta didik, ditunjukkan oleh persentase ketuntasan hanya sebesar 34,37% yang mencapai KKTP. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan proses dan hasil belajar peserta didik melalui penerapan model Make a Match berbantuan media permainan ular tangga. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, masing-masing meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 31 peserta didik kelas V, dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi aktivitas belajar dan tes hasil belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model Make a Match berbantuan media permainan ular tangga tergolong sangat baik dan efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar. Pada siklus I, ketuntasan belajar mencapai 70%, meningkat menjadi 83% pada siklus II. Peningkatan ini menegaskan bahwa penggunaan model Make a Match dengan media permainan ular tangga dapat meningkatkan keaktifan, motivasi, serta pemahaman peserta didik pada materi bilangan cacah sampai 1.000.000. Dengan tercapainya indikator keberhasilan, penelitian dihentikan pada siklus II. Harapannya, model pembelajaran ini dapat dijadikan alternatif strategi oleh guru dalam mengatasi rendahnya hasil belajar matematika dan mendorong terciptanya suasana belajar yang lebih menyenangkan, interaktif, serta bermakna bagi peserta didik
