Abstract

This research aims to determine the increase in student learning outcomes and media effectiveness after implementing ICT-based learning media. This research is a quasi-experiment in a pretest-posttest control group design. The research population was 75 students consisting of 3 classes at the Family Education Foundation Middle School for the 2023/2024 academic year. The research sample was 50 students consisting of 2 classes, samples were taken using cluster random sampling techniques. Learning outcomes are measured using a multiple choice test, while media effectiveness is measured using a questionnaire. Furthermore, the data obtained were analyzed using quantitative descriptive by carrying out analysis prerequisite tests and hypothesis testing with a significance level of α = 0.05. The results of this research show that there is a significant increase in the implementation of ICT-based learning media on student learning outcomes with a probability value of 0.001 < 0.05 and tcount (3,474) > ttable (2,010) and it can be concluded that Ha is accepted. H0 is rejected, which means it can be concluded that There is a significant increase in student learning outcomes after implementing ICT-based learning media and the results of this research show that the percentage of media effectiveness is 82% for media experts who can be categorized as effective, 84% for student responses which are also ncluded in the effective category.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the concept sentence learning model on biology learning outcomes in ecosystems for tenth-grade students of Taman Madya (SMA) Tamansiswa Pematangsiantar. The population of this study was 191 students, consisting of five classes. Sampling was conducted using cluster random sampling, resulting in two classes: class X IPA 1 (38 students) and class X IPA 2 (38 students), resulting in a total sample of 76 students. Data analysis was performed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing (t-tests) at a significance level of α = 0.05. The results showed that the average post-test score for the experimental class was 88.68, while the average post-test score for the control class was 85.13. From the results of the hypothesis testing, it was obtained that t_(Count) (2.338) > t_(table) (1.992), so Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted, meaning that there was an influence of the use of the Concept Sentence learning model on Biology learning outcomes in ecosystem material in class X Taman Madya (SMA) Tamansiswa Pematangsiantar

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Think Talk Write learning model on the excretory system on student learning outcomes for SMP Bina Guna Tanah Jawa. The Think Talk Write learning model is intended to improve learning outcomes and facilitate student understanding of the excretory system. This study is a quasi-experimental study. The population was all 66 eighth-grade students. Subjects were randomly selected, with class VIII 1, consisting of 32 students, serving as the control class, and class VIII 2, consisting of 34 students, serving as the experimental class. Data collection consisted of a pretest and posttest. The results showed that the Think Talk Walk learning model significantly impacted science learning outcomes in the excretory system. The difference in science learning outcomes between students participating in the Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model and those participating in conventional learning (t = 10.973 > t = 1.69) suggests that the Think Talk Write learning model has a positive effect on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the inquiry learning model using animation media on problem-solving abilities in the excretory system material of class VIII MTs Swasta Al Washliyah Serbelawan. The population in this study was all class VIII consisting of 3 classes with a total of 87 students. Sampling was done by Cluster Random Sampling. This research instrument was used to see problem-solving abilities in the excretory system material using tests and questionnaires. From the results of the t (1) test data analysis, t count (5.213) ≥ t table (2.005) at a significant level of α = 0.05 with degrees of freedom dk = 28 + 28-2 = 54, then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning that problem-solving abilities have a significant influence if learning is carried out using the inquiry learning model. Meanwhile, the results of the t-test data analysis (2) obtained t count (5.942) ≥ t table (2.005) so H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning that problem-solving ability has a significant influence if learning is carried out using the inquiry learning model with animation media. Furthermore, the results of the F-test data analysis obtained F count is greater than F table, namely F count (5.072) > F table (3.172), so it can be concluded that the hypothesis H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning there is an effect of the inquiry learning model using animation media on problem-solving ability in the human excretory system material for class VIII MTs Swasta Al Washliyah Serbelawan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the guided inquiry model on students' conceptual understanding and learning interests. The population in this study were seventh-grade students of SMP Yayasan Perguruan Keluarga Pematangsiantar in the 2021/2022 academic year, consisting of three classes totaling 93 students. The research sample was taken using Cluster Random Sampling, obtaining class VII-2 as the experimental class and VII-3 as the control class, totaling 62 students. The instruments used in the study were questionnaires and tests. The data obtained were analyzed using ANOVA with a significance level of 5% (α = 0.05) using SPSS'21. The results of the hypothesis testing on conceptual understanding ability obtained F count = 15.60, while F table at the 4.001 level. Because F count > F table with a significance value of 0.000 <0.05, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. The results of the hypothesis testing on student learning interest obtained F count = 53.11, while F table 4.001. Because F count > F table with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. It was concluded that there is a significant effect of the guided inquiry learning model on students' conceptual understanding and learning interest in environmental pollution material for seventh-grade students at Yayasan Perguruan Keluarga Pematangsiantar Junior High School in the 2021/2022 academic year.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the Problem-Based Learning Model with Metacognitive Strategies on Critical Thinking Skills and Student Learning Outcomes. This study is a quantitative study. The study population consisted of 120 students consisting of 4 classes. Sampling was carried out by Cluster Random Sampling, namely class VIII-A using Problem-Based Learning with Metacognitive Strategies and VIII-B using the lecture method with 30 students in each class. The research instrument used tests and questionnaires. Based on the results of hypothesis testing using the t-test, as obtained thitung 6.836 > ttabel (1.701) at a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05. Based on this, it can be concluded that the Sig. value < 0.05 and thitung value > ttabel, which means H_0 is rejected and 〖H〗_a is accepted. Thus, there is a significant influence between the grades in the experimental class and the grades in the control class. Based on the results of the hypothesis testing using the F-test, the calculated F value is greater than the F-table (9.709 > 4.004) and the sig. value is less than 0.05 (0.003 < 0.05). Thus, Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected, indicating a significant effect of using the Problem-Based Learning model with metacognitive strategies on critical thinking. The study concluded that using the Problem-Based Learning model has an impact on critical thinking skills and learning outcome students of Prama Artha Private Middle School in the 2021/2022 academic year.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Project-Based Learning model on students' problem solving and critical thinking skills. The population in this study were eighth-grade students of Yayasan Perguruan Keluarga Private Junior High School, Pematangsiantar, in the 2021/2022 academic year. The sample consisted of four classes totaling 118 students. Cluster random sampling was used to select class VIII-3 (30 students) as the control class and VIII-1 (30 students) as the experimental class. The instrument used in this study was a test. The data were analyzed to determine the mean, median, mode, standard deviation, linearity test, normality test, homogeneity test, regression test, t-test, and f-test. Data analysis using ANOVA with a significance level of 5% (α = 0.05) using SPSS 21 software revealed an effect of Project-Based Learning on problem-solving skills. The calculated F-value was greater than the F-table (8.184 > 4.004) and the significance value was less than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). The hypothesis testing on students' critical thinking skills showed an F-value greater than the F-table (19.208 > 4.004) and the significance value was less than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). Therefore, Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected. This indicates that the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model has an effect on students' problem-solving and critical thinking skills on the human excretory system topic in eighth-grade students at Yayasan Perguruan Keluarga Pematangsiantar Private Junior High School in the 2021/2022 academic year.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' learning difficulties in understanding the human regulatory system material in eleventh-grade students at Kartika 1-4 Private High School, Pematangsiantar. The population in this study was all eleventh-grade students, consisting of three classes, totaling 150 students. Sampling was conducted using cluster random sampling, with a 20% sample size, with 10 students from each class, totaling 30 students. The method used in this study was descriptive. Student learning difficulties were analyzed using instruments in the form of multiple choice tests and closed-ended questionnaires with a Likert scale. The results of the test data analysis showed that the average percentage of students' learning difficulties was 75.65%, categorized as weak, meaning students had difficulty understanding the human regulatory system material. The questionnaire results indicated that internal factors influencing student learning difficulties included interest and motivation (67.08%) interpreted as weak, and readiness and attention (63.33%) interpreted as weak. Meanwhile, external factors, including the family environment (75% of which was interpreted as weak), the school environment (71.94% of which was interpreted as weak), and the community environment (65.83% of which was interpreted as weak), concluded that aspects with weak interpretations had no effect on student learning difficulties. Furthermore, the time allocation aspect (39.33% of which was interpreted as strong) significantly influenced student learning difficulties. The average percentage of factors influencing learning difficulties was 63.75%.
