Abstract

This study aims to analyze the structure of the phytoplankton community in the Asahan River. Using a descriptive survey. Determination of the location of phytoplankton sampling was carried out by purposive sampling. The results showed that overall phytoplankton were found in three divisions Crysophyta, Cyanophyta and Chlorophyta and 17 genera. The highest relative abundance (KR) was found in the genus Pediastrum of 12.7 with a diversity index of an average of 2.39, an evenness index of 0.35 and a dominance index of 0.16. The results of the physical factor measurements are an average turbidity of 3.53 NTU, an average water temperature of 32oC and an average water pH of 6. The results of the average water chemical factor measurements are water DO of 5.15 ppm, BOD = 1.85 ppm, COD = 26.45 ppm, CO2 levels = 18.29 ppm and mercury (Hg) levels measured range from 0 - 0.05 ppm. In conclusion, the abundance of phytoplankton is in the low category with a moderate diversity index and the waters are classified as stable.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of the project based learning model on student motivation and learning outcomes. in a pretest-posttest control group design. The research population was 75 students consisting of 2 classes at SMA Muhammadiah – 7 Serbelawan for the 2023/2024 academic year. The research sample was 75 students consisting of 2 classes, Student motivation is measured using a questionnaire while learning outcomes are measured using a multiple choice test. Next, the data obtained were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis by carrying out analytical prerequisite tests and hypothesis testing with a significance level of α = 0.05. The results of this research show that there is a significant influence in using the project based learning model on student learning motivation with a probability value of 0,05 (0,000 < 0,05) and tcount (0, 511) > ttable(1,666) and it can be concluded that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected, which means there is a significant influence using a project based learning model on student learning outcomes with a probability value of 0,05 (0,000 < 0,05) and tcount 9,906 > ttable 3,122

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of cognitive and affective relationships on self-regulation using the Student Team Achievement Division learning model on additives in grade VIII of MTs Islamiyah Gajing in the 2022/2023 academic year. The population was 156 students, consisting of 5 classes, and the sample was taken using Cluster Random Sampling, resulting in two classes: experimental class 1 (VIII-3) with 32 students and experimental class 2 (VIII-4) with 32 students. Experimental class 1 was treated using the Student Team Achievement Division learning model, while experimental class 2 was treated using the Conventional learning model. Data analysis was performed by finding the mean (X̅ ), standard deviation (S), and hypothesis testing (t-test) at a significance level of α = 0.05. The results showed that the average post-test score for experimental class 1 was 85.03 and for experimental class 2 was 84.37, with a difference in learning outcomes of 0.66. The results of the hypothesis testing (t-test) obtained thitung (2.951) > ttabel (1.998) at a significance level of α = 0.05 and degrees of freedom (dk) = 62. Therefore, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. This means that there is a difference in the cognitive and affective relationship to self-regulation using the Student Team Achievement Division learning model on the additive substance material for class VIII MTs Islamiyah Gajing in the 2022/2023 academic year. It is concluded that there is a cognitive and affective relationship to self-regulation through the Student Team Achievement Division learning model on the additive substance material for class VIII MTs Islamiyah Gajing in the 2022/2023 academic year.

Abstract

The world of education deserves serious attention regarding children's character. Recent problems in our country are inextricably linked to character issues. According to Law No. 20 of 2003 concerning education, it is a conscious and planned effort in the development and learning process for individuals to grow and develop into independent, responsible, creative, knowledgeable, healthy, and virtuous individuals. This research method can also be considered a problem-solving strategy. This stage provides an overview of how a research problem can be described and answers found. The type of research used in this study is descriptive, which attempts to describe the research object in depth based on the facts as they appear. This study uses a qualitative approach to obtain an overview of the objectives. The study, entitled "The Role of Science Teachers in Building Student Character," demonstrates that teachers' roles in character formation are carried out through questioning skills, the use of media and learning aids, and the closing of learning skills. The teacher's role is crucial in shaping students' character in participating in learning activities. Students' interest and enjoyment in participating in learning activities are also important.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Think Talk Write learning model on the excretory system on student learning outcomes for SMP Bina Guna Tanah Jawa. The Think Talk Write learning model is intended to improve learning outcomes and facilitate student understanding of the excretory system. This study is a quasi-experimental study. The population was all 66 eighth-grade students. Subjects were randomly selected, with class VIII 1, consisting of 32 students, serving as the control class, and class VIII 2, consisting of 34 students, serving as the experimental class. Data collection consisted of a pretest and posttest. The results showed that the Think Talk Walk learning model significantly impacted science learning outcomes in the excretory system. The difference in science learning outcomes between students participating in the Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model and those participating in conventional learning (t = 10.973 > t = 1.69) suggests that the Think Talk Write learning model has a positive effect on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in student learning outcomes and the magnitude of the differences in student learning outcomes using the role-playing learning model and conventional methods on the human respiratory system material in class X of SMA Swasta Kartika I-4 Pematangsiantar in the 2021/2022 academic year. The population was 171 students consisting of 4 classes and samples were taken using cluster random sampling to obtain 2 classes: the experimental class (X MIA 1) with 40 students and the experimental class (X MIA 4) with 40 students. The control class was given treatment using the role-playing learning model and the control class was given treatment using the conventional method. Data analysis was carried out by finding the average (X ̅), standard deviation (S) and hypothesis testing (t-test) at a significance level of α = 0.05. From the results of the study, the average post-test score for the experimental class was 82.37 and the control class was 80.62 with a difference in learning outcomes of 1.69. From the results of the hypothesis testing (t-test), the calculated t (2.111 > t table (1.990) was obtained at a significance level of α = 0.05 and degrees of freedom (dk) = 78, so Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning there is a difference in student learning outcomes using the role playing learning model and the conventional method on the ecosystem material of class X SMA Swasta Kartika I-4 Pematangsiantar in the 2021/2022 Academic Year. It was concluded that there is a difference in student learning outcomes using the role-playing learning model and the conventional method on the ecosystem material in class X SMA Swasta Kartika I-4 Pematangsiantar in the 2021/2022 Academic Year.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of multimedia utilization on improving student learning outcomes on the human excretory system and the magnitude of the impact of multimedia utilization on improving student learning outcomes on the excretory system in grade XI Taman Madya (SMA) Tamansiswa Pematangsiantar. The population in this study was 64 students consisting of two classes. The sample was taken by random assignment, i.e., the population size was equal to the sample size. This resulted in two classes: a control class (XI-1) with 32 students and an experimental class (XI-5) with 32 students. Thus, the sample size was 64 students. The control class was treated using conventional methods, while the experimental class was treated using PowerPoint multimedia. Data analysis was performed by finding the mean (X̅ ), standard deviation (S), and hypothesis testing (t-test) at a significance level of α = 0.05. The results obtained an average post-test score of 88 for the control class and 90.12 for the experimental class, with a difference in learning outcomes of 2.12. From the results of the hypothesis testing (t-test), the calculated t (2.790) > t table (1.99) at a significance level of α = 0.05 and degrees of freedom (dk) = 62, so Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning there is an influence of multimedia utilization to improve student learning outcomes on the human excretory system material in class XI Taman Madya (SMA) Tamansiswa Pematangsiantar. It is concluded that there is an influence of multimedia utilization to improve student learning outcomes on the human excretory system material in class XI Taman Madya (SMA) Tamansiswa Pematangsiantar.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of Instagram on environmental conservation in Beringin. The author conducted observations in Beringin and observed that many individuals and communities still lack concern for environmental conservation. The approach used in this study was quantitative, using data collection methods such as distributing questionnaires to 100 Instagram users in Beringin. Based on the research results, through simultaneous testing, it was shown that the social media variable (X) influences environmental conservation (Y) in Beringin. The calculated f value (90.363) > f table (4.00) with a significance level of 0.001, and the adjusted R Square value of 0.474, or 47%. This means that the influence of social media on environmental conservation is 47%. The remaining 53% is attributed to other variables not examined in this study, such as environmental impact, environmental pollution, and social sanctions.

Abstract

The problems in this study are: The selection of learning models used by teachers is not varied, student activity is still lacking during teaching and learning activities, student absorption is low, teachers still often use the lecture model, so teacher explanations are still abstract. The purpose of this study is; To determine the effect of the think pair share and make a match learning models on the learning outcomes of grade VII students of Kartika 1-4 Private Junior High School Pematangsiantar. The research method is an experimental method with a Quasi Experiment Design. The research design is a Two Group Randomized Posttest-Only Control Design. After the initial test (pretest) was conducted in both classes, learning was carried out with different treatments. In the experimental class, learning was carried out using the Think Pair Share learning model, while in the control class, the Make A Match learning model was implemented. After the learning process was completed, a final test (posttest) was carried out. Based on the research analysis, it was obtained 1) the learning outcomes of students who used the Think Pair Share learning model were better than the learning outcomes of students who used the Make A Match learning model; 2) There was a difference in the improvement in the learning outcomes of students who used the Think Pair Share learning model and the improvement in the learning outcomes of students who used the Make A Match learning model; and 3) Student attitudes toward learning using the Think Pair Share and Make A Match learning models.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of audiovisual media use on science learning outcomes in the subject of Excretion for eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 13 Pematangsiantar. The population in this study were 60 eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 13 Pematangsiantar in the 2021/2022 academic year. The research sample was selected using cluster random sampling: class VIII A (Experimental Class) using audiovisual media and class VIII B (Control Class) using conventional methods. The instrument used in this study was a multiple-choice test consisting of 20 questions. Furthermore, the data obtained were analyzed to find the mean, median, mode, standard deviation, normality test, reliability, validity, and t-test. The data obtained were then analyzed using a t-test using SPSS 21. The results of this study indicate a significant effect between the use of audio-visual media on learning outcomes, with a probability value of 0.000 <α = 0.05, with a t-count of 7.688 > t-table of 1.699. Therefore, H_a is accepted and H_0 is rejected, meaning that the use of audio-visual media has an effect on the science learning outcomes of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 13 Pematangsiantar in the 2021/2022 academic year.
