Abstract

So far, the rural population of fuel users make firewood stoves from ground or cement. Often waiting is made less efficient and produces a lot of smoke pollution, especially if the level of dryness of the wood is low. From this background, then came the idea for the manufacture of stoves that save fuel wood and minimal smoke pollution. Furthermore, to be able to achieve this goal, in this study a biomass furnace will be developed that has a combustion air regulation system and a firewood drying system before use. Research implementation is divided into furnace design (design and fabrication) and testing (combustion characteristics and performance). Research begins with the design of the dimensions and shape of the furnace to be made. Furthermore, fabrication of stoves from Stainless Steel plate materials will be carried out at the Mechanical Technology Laboratory, IST AKPRIND. The stove produced by the construction will be tested with fuel wood in terms of combustion characteristics and performance. The results show that biomass stoves can be used and produced for household and small-scale industries.

Abstract

Sistem mekanisasi dalam industri manufaktur terus dioptimalkan untuk menekan biaya produksi dan menjaga keseragaman kualitas produk. Pengelingan adalah merupakan salah satu tahapan dari proses produksi yang menentukan kualitas dari produk. Hal ini sangat berpengaruh terhadap nilai jualnya. Untuk perbaikan kualitas produk, salah satu alternatif yang harus dilakukan ialah mengganti cara pengelingan secara manual dengan pengelingan menggunakan mesin pada industri berbahan dasar alumunium. Mesin tekan paku keling merupakan mesin perkakas yang dapat digunakan dalam proses pengelingan pada sambungan produk kerajinan alumunium pegangan panci. Makalah ini melaporkan mekanisme rancang bangun sebuah mesin tekan paku keling. Proses perancangan mesin keling ini menggunakan metode pemodelan fungsional. Metode ini difokuskan pada spesifikasi mesin perkakas yang memakai teknologi skala produksi. Mekanisme perancangan ini menggunakan tiga tahapan proses yaitu membandingkan dengan proses sejenis, melakukan perancangan konseptual, serta melakukan pengujian produk keling. Pengujian yang dilakukan adalah uji kekuatan tarik hasil penekanan paku keling dengan diameter 3, 4, dan 5 mm. Hasil pengujian kuat tarik paku keling dari dua buah plat alumunium dengan diameter paku keling 3, 4, dan 5 mm, diperoleh nilai kekuatan tarik masing-masing hasil pengelingan adalah 9,70 kg/mm2, 14,77 kg/mm2, dan 18,86 kg/mm2. Data tersebut menunjukkan kelingan pada pegangan panci dinyatakan aman untuk menerima beban yang diberikan.

Abstract

Sebuah kelompok pemuda-pemudi yang ada di Kalijeruk, Widodomartani, Ngemplak, Sleman, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta memiliki potensi kewirausahaan melalui budidaya ikan air tawar. Ikan tersebut adalah lele. Namun, potensi ini perlu diasah lebih lanjut agar dapat berkembang secara optimal. Program Kemitraan Masyarakat Stimulus (PKMS) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan para pemuda di bidang budidaya ikan air tawar, dan dapat meningkatkan kas pemuda. Langkah-langkah yang dilakukan untuk mencapi tujuan tersebut adalah survai lokasi dan kondisi kolam, pembelian material untuk perbaikan kolam, pelaksanaan kerja bakti perbaikan kolam, pembelian bibit ikan lele, penyebaran benih ikan, pembuatan jadwal pemberian pakan ikan, pelatihan penyembuhan penyakit ikan, pemanenan ikan, serta penjualan ikan hasil panen. Program ini menghasilkan peningkatan solidaritas antara kaum muda dan keterampilan budidaya ikan yang baik. Selain itu, para pemuda dapat membuat kolam dan media air yang tepat untuk membudidayakan ikan dan dapat memilih bibit ikan dan pelet ikan yang lebih baik. Kegiatan ini meningkatkan semangat kewirausahaan kaum muda dan akhirnya meningkatkan kas kelompok pemuda untuk program sosial lain.

Abstract

A simple thermal and catalytic degradation of polyethylene plastic waste has been carried out to produce alternative liquid fuel. Plastic of 1500 grams was pyrolyzed at a specific temperature of 450 °C. The gases were condensed in a water-cooled condenser and collected in a liquid container. Energy balance calculation was done where catalytic cracking with Y zeolite as catalyst seemed to be the best because the generated thermal energy from waste plastic oil was already higher than the required electric energy supplied for the cracking. However, several improvements must always be made in order to save more energy and create the best result for commercialization.

Abstract

Pattern making in sand casting requires high-level skilled workers since accuracy is the most important concern in producing good quality products. Therefore, conventional pattern-making becomes a major obstacle in developing new products, especially for complicated products as it takes over 70% of the total time in production of the foundry process. This study offers an alternative method in pattern making utilizing 3D technology with the Fuse Deposition Material (FDM) method. It consisted of three steps: planning, production, and evaluation. An intake manifold is an example product that was designed by using Computer Aided Design (CAD) and then imported to a slicer application to obtain the G codes. After the design was printed by using filament of PLA+, it was assembled to create the plate pattern that then was used to produce the intake manifold through casting. The study result shows that the FDM method of the 3D printing technology is feasible for pattern making on sand casting. Deviation and shrinkage of the casting product were still within tolerance. The largest shrinkage is 0.453 mm (1.258%).

Abstract

The demand for increasingly diverse product designs and specifications in the manufacturing industry requires  Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine operators to have high technical skills and strong self-efficacy and creativity. High self-efficacy allows operators to be more confident in applying their technical skills, while creativity helps them solve problems and challenges during the production process. This study aims to improve students' self-efficacy and creativity by applying the Peer-Project Based Learning (Peer-PjBL) model, which combines aspects of project-based learning with peer-to-peer learning. The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research (PTK), which consists of two implementation cycles. Each cycle involves planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of this study were 20 students who took the CNC Machining Technology course at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Data were collected using a questionnaire that measured self-efficacy and student creativity indicators and then analyzed descriptively. The results showed that applying the Peer-PjBL method significantly increased students' self-efficacy and creativity in each research cycle. This improvement can be seen in students' ability to face new challenges independently, as well as their ability to generate diverse creative ideas in solving problems. This research makes an important contribution to the development of learning methods in vocational education by emphasizing the improvement of technical abilities and non-technical skills, such as self-efficacy and creativity, which are needed in the modern world of work.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini berfokus pada pengembangan produk olahan singkong dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas dan kemandirian ekonomi kelompok Ibu-Ibu PKK Dusun Kepuh, Desa Pacarejo, Kabupaten Gunungkidul. Meskipun singkong memiliki potensi besar sebagai komoditas lokal, pemanfaatannya oleh mitra masih belum optimal. Beberapa tantangan utama yang dihadapi antara lain produksi yang masih dilakukan secara manual, mutu produk keripik singkong yang belum konsisten, dan kesulitan dalam memasarkan produk ke pasar yang lebih luas. Program ini mencakup serangkaian pelatihan yang meliputi pengoperasian mesin perajang singkong untuk meningkatkan efisiensi produksi, teknik pengolahan keripik dengan berbagai varian rasa guna meningkatkan kualitas produk, serta teknik pengemasan yang menarik dan fungsional. Selain itu, peserta juga dibekali dengan keterampilan pemasaran digital, mencakup pembuatan akun di platform e-commerce dan pembuatan iklan yang efektif. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam kapasaitas produksi sebesar 60% dan transaksi pemasaran sebesar 25%. Diharapkan program ini dapat memberdayakan komunitas lokal dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan ekonomi masyarakat secara berkelanjutan. Abstract

Kemajuan UMKM di Pacarejo sangat tergantung dengan kontribusi aktif dari ibu-ibu PKK. Salah satu dusun yaitu Kepuh, Desa Pacarejo, Kabupaten Gunungkidul, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta telah mendapatkan pedampingan intensif dari Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Hasil bumi Desa Pacarejo yang belum diolah secara maksimal salah satunya adalah kacang tanah. Sebagai salah satu daerah tujuan wisata, kacang tanah berpotensi diolah menjadi oleh-oleh khas dari Gunungkidul. Belum optimalnya pengolahan makanan berbasis kacang di Desa Pacarejo disebabkan oleh beberapa permasalahan yaitu permasalahan produksi, mutu produk, dan pemasaran. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilakukan akan berfokus pada permasalahan produksi terkait produksi kulit lumpia kacang umpet, permasalahan mutu produk terkait desain packaging yang mengangkat identitas Desa Pacarejo, dan permasalahan pemasaran terkait ekspansi pasar secara luas. Tujuan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat antara lain: (1) meningkatkan kapasitas produksi olahan makanan “kacang umpet” di Desa Pacarejo melalui bantuan Teknologi Tepat Guna; (2) meningkatkan mutu produk dan varian rasa produk dengan menunjukan identitas Desa Pacarejo; dan (3) memperluas jangkauan pemasaran produk-produk UMKM baik di dalam dan luar DIY. Metode pelaksanaan PPM melalui empat langkah yaitu; tahap pelatihan, pendampingan, monitoring dan evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian dapat menambah wawasan Ibu-ibu PKK dalam menambah variasi rasa olahan kacang umpet dan meningkatkan nilai jual produk.The progress of MSMEs in Pacarejo is highly dependent on the active contribution of PKK women. One of the hamlets, Kepuh, Pacarejo Village, Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, has received intensive assistance from Yogyakarta State University. One of the crops of Pacarejo Village that has not been maximized is peanuts. As a tourist destination, peanuts have the potential to be processed into typical souvenirs from Gunungkidul. The suboptimal processing of peanut-based food in Pacarejo Village is caused by several problems, namely production, product quality, and marketing. The community service program will focus on production problems related to the production of peanut spring roll skins, product quality problems related to packaging design that raises the identity of Pacarejo Village, and marketing problems related to broad market expansion. The objectives of the Community Service include: (1) increasing the production capacity of processed food "kacang umpet" in Pacarejo Village through Appropriate Technology assistance; (2) improving product quality and product flavor variants by showing the identity of Pacarejo Village; and (3) expanding the marketing reach of MSME products both within and outside DIY. The method of implementing PPM through four steps, namely; training, mentoring, monitoring and evaluation stages. The results of the community service activities can add insight to PKK mothers in adding variations in the taste of processed hide-and-seek beans and increasing the selling value of the product.
