Abstract

Abstract

Domestic violence, especially that experienced by children from an early age, leaves serious and lasting psychological, emotional, and spiritual impacts. This article discusses how the process of forgiveness and reconciliation can be a means of healing for victims of domestic violence, without neglecting justice and proper protection. The primary approach uses a psychospiritual perspective based on the REACH Forgiveness model developed by Everett L. Worthington Jr. Through forgiveness, victims are encouraged to free themselves from the shackles of revenge and emotional wounds. Reconciliation is understood not as an obligation to return to the perpetrator, but rather as a restoration of inner peace to the victim. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of distinguishing forgiveness and reconciliation as two distinct processes, as well as the need for a holistic and contextual approach in assisting victims of domestic violence. In the light of Christian faith, forgiveness is a form of spiritual maturity and the first step toward complete recovery, while reconciliation is only possible if justice, security, and repentance of the perpetrator have been fulfilled.

Abstract

This study analyzes deviations in the implementation of decisions made by the Church Council in churches using the lens of Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s Christian ethics. This study uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. The study was conducted at the Victory Tompasobaru GMIM Congregation, where discrepancies were found between the decisions of the council and their implementation, caused by weak leadership integrity and accountability. Using descriptive qualitative methods, the study examined the dynamics of church leadership, the presbyterial-synodal system, and the decision-making process. Bonhoeffer’s ethical analysis—particularly the concepts of costly grace, Christus als Wirklichkeit (Christ as reality), and Stellvertretung (primacy/responsibility of representation)—was used to diagnose the root causes of these deviations. The results of the study show that deviations in the implementation of decisions are not only procedural violations, but also theological-ethical failures in fulfilling the call to responsible leadership before God and the congregation. As a solution, the study offers a holistic reconstruction that includes spiritual nurturing, strengthening accountability structures, and developing a culture of openness in church assemblies, so that the integrity and credibility of church leadership can be restored.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to examine and explain the Reformatory Shepherding Theology and its relationship to the spirit of Si Tou Timou Tumou Tou in the aspect of church life. The statement of the problem is the lack of spirit of solidarity and the lack of strong theological aspects that are included in ecclesiastical shepherding. By using a qualitative approach and literature method, the results of the research concern the significance of Reformatory Shepherding Theology based on the spirit of reformation and the return to the Bible as a benchmark for theology and the doctrine of the Sovereignty of God is emphasized, then shepherding is strengthened and in the spirit of Si Tou Timou Tumou Tou the sense of solidarity to love others is strengthened and implemented in ecclesiastical shepherding. It is hoped that the concept and praxis of reformatory shepherding and Si Tou Timou Tou can be the driving force for the church to carry out comprehensive shepherding for the faith growth of the people.
