Abstract

This study aimed to describe the success of flipped classroom using Moodle to increase students’ creative thinking abilities in view of learning styles. This study used quasi-experiment non-equivalent control group design with the participants consisted of 72 students of SMA Negeri 1 Ciawigebang in the academic year of 2022/2023 who 36 XD students as the experimental group and 36 XC students as the control group. The instruments used were tests and questionnaires. The results of data analysis with significance level of 5% revealed that on the learning model factors obtained values 0.012 < 0.05 with the conclusion that there were differences in the ability to think creatively between students who are given flipped classroom using Moodle and conventional learning. N-Gain score in the experimental class is 0.6153 while the control class is 0.3803. Hypothesis testing on learning style factors has value 0.766 > 0.05 with the conclusion that there were no differences in the ability to think creatively between students with visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles. Interaction diagrams shows that visual students are better suited to learning with flipped classroom using Moodle models and auditory students are better suited to learning with conventional models

Abstract

The problem in this study is the low ability of students' mathematical connections. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning model based on Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM) on students' mathematical connection abilities. The method used in this study was quasi-experimental with the non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design chosen. This research was conducted at Kuningan 3 Public Middle School in May 2023. The sample was taken by purposive sampling consisting of class VIII B (Experimental Class) and class VIII A (Control Class). The number of students in both classes is the same, namely 30 students, a total sample of 60 students. The results of hypothesis testing on the results of the posttest data concluded that there were differences in students' mathematical connection abilities after the STEM-based Problem Based Learning model was applied to the experimental class and conventional models to the control class. There was a significant increase in students' mathematical connection abilities in the experimental group compared to students' mathematical connection abilities in the control group. Student responses to the STEM-based problem-based learning model in the experimental class received a positive response with a very high interpretation of the questionnaire results, namely 79%.

Abstract

This study aims to explore and measure the effectiveness of using GeoGebra application-based STEM learning media in improving the mathematical problem solving ability of junior high school students. In this study, researchers took samples of two classes which will be divided into one control class and one experimental class. The class chosen as the control class is VII B and the experimental class is class VII E. With the experimental method, the two classes are divided into an experimental group (using GeoGebra) and a control group (conventional learning).  The research instruments used are in the form of description questions and questionnaires, while the data analysis techniques used are descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. This study used independent simple t-test, N-Gain test, and questionnaire processing. The results of the analysis showed that there was no significant difference in initial abilities between the two groups. However, after treatment, there was a significant increase in mathematical problem solving abilities in the experimental group. This is proven from the results of the post-test and N-Gain test. Student responses to the use of GeoGebra in learning mathematics with a STEM approach are also positive, showing high interest and understanding. These results support learning approaches that integrate technology and natural sciences, engineering, technology, and mathematics to improve students' mathematical problem solving skills

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out how effective a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) project-based learning model is on students' ability to think creatively about opportunity material. This research is a type of quasi-experimental research with a one group pretest-posttest design. This research involved class VIII students at MTs Negeri 2 Kuningan. In this research, purposive sampling was used. Two classes VIII-H were selected as control classes and two classes VIII-I were selected as experimental classes, each with a total of 30 students. The data collection method used is to use a test instrument that focuses on creative indicators in the form of an essay consisting of five numbers. The research results show that students' mathematical creative thinking abilities vary from student to student

Abstract

Abstract. The results of the 2022 International Student Assessment (PISA) for Indonesia show a decrease of 12-13 points, but Indonesia's ranking has increased by 5-6 compared to 2018. So, Indonesia is ranked 69th, this shows that the competence of Indonesian children is still low in critical skills and solving abilities. problem with HOTS. The aim of this research is to determine students' thinking abilities in solving HOTS type questions. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects in this research were students of class VIII MTs Pertiwi Kuningan. Data collection techniques in this research used interviews, observation and documentation and were analyzed using triangulation analysis techniques which consisted of three stages, namely: data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The research results show that students' cognitive abilities in solving HOTS questions at MTs Pertiwi Kuningan vary, with the majority of students being at a good to high level of ability. However, there are challenges that need to be overcome, such as a lack of practice on similar questions and accuracy in answering questions. With the right strategies, such as practicing practice and increasing accuracy, as well as intensive support from teachers, students' abilities in applying, analyzing and evaluating HOTS questions can be improved

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between information literacy, optimized learning spaces, and TPACK Skills on the mathematical digital literacy skills of prospective mathematics teachers. The method is non-experimental research with a causal correlation design and a quantitative approach using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis method. The population in this study were undergraduate mathematics teacher candidates. The sample was obtained from as many as 216 respondents using purposive sampling from public and private universities in Riau, West Sumatra, Bengkulu, Banten, Jakarta, West Java, Yogyakarta, and East Java. The instrument used is a Likert scale on a scale of 1-5, which consists of 24 indicators representing 4 variables. Based on the results of the assumption test, validity test, and model fit test, it can be concluded that the SEM model in this study is suitable and feasible and can describe the theory and findings in the field. Based on the inner model test, it can be concluded that information literacy (LT), Optimize Learning Spaces (LS), and TPACK Skills (TK) have significant effects on mathematical digital literacy (DL) in terms of estimates and P <0.05.  The results of this research indicate that the increasing need for the application of learning technology, especially in mathematics learning, requires increasing the competence of teachers and students in integrating technology in mathematics learning and digital mathematics literacy needs to be the focus of further research.

Abstract

The relationship between spatial conceptions and students' spatial abilities is still rarely studied specifically, even though this is the basis for students to think in learning geometry. This paper aims to explore spatial abilities and the development of spatial ability theory, discusses the relationship between spatial conceptions in students' understanding, andhow to develop HLT (Hypothetical Learning Trajectory) in transformation geometry learning. HLT design consists of three stages: initial design, experimental, and retrospective analysis. The results of HLT are then refined into LIT (Local Instructional Trajectory). Then this paper present the empirical results of the perceptions of twenty 9th grade students in one of Islamic private school in Kabupaten Kuningan, West Java, Indonesia, towards the corresponding geometric and math questions. Literature review analysis was used to analyze the retrieved articles. At the end of the paper, we explain and discuss how to apply mathematical conceptions in learning geometry. This research is expected to be a guidance for teachers to develop learning in accordance with the students' spatial thinking process in studying geometry.
