Abstract

The existence of LRT feeder transportation in Palembang City is felt to be very helpful for the community in traveling both from home to work, shopping centers, and other public service centers. Moreover, the Palembang part of Ulu is a developing and densely populated area. Corridor 4 feeders of the LRT are included in the station area which has different characteristics in land use and building density. Polresta Station is included in the TOD Neighbourhood Medium Density typology (Jaya, M.A., Sary, R.K., Ramdhani, M.I. (2020). The purpose of this study is to evaluate the influence of Corridor 4 feeder transportation on the demand for Light Rail Transit (LRT) passengers in Palembang City based on Transit Oriented Development (TOD). The research data was obtained from surveys and load factor analysis. This study uses a quantitative approach, using regression and correlation analysis techniques. The results show that various variables, such as distance, travel time, and type of transportation, have a significant influence on the demand of LRT passengers.

Abstract

Spatial characteristic of Palembang city influenced by Musi River which separates the region into two parts, Ulu and Ilir. the features of these part contrast. Comparing to the Ulu region, the Ilir region has denser and larger area. Historically, the Ilir region continues to be the center of governance and commerce from the Palembang Sultanate, the duch colonial empire, as long as the present. The research aims to measure the level of connectivity, integration, and choice of the spatial of Palembang city. Connectivity analysis, Global Integration, local integration, and choce were the methods adopted. Map-base data collected through Open Street Map (OSM), which is processed by QGis software then analized with Depthmap’s Space Syntax methods.

Abstract

As one of the educational institutions, pesantren have significant potential to contribute to sustainable development, both within the local context where they operate and in the broader environment. The aim of this study is to measure the sustainability index of pesantren and develop a typology based on space utilization characteristics to generate improvement recommendations that will enhance the sustainability index. The researcher formulated the sustainability index concept based on three parameters: the proportion of low-albedo roofs (white roofs), the proportion of trees (green space), and the proportion of water bodies (blue space) relative to the total land area. Additionally, data was collected on areas of buildings with non-white roofs (orange space) and open land areas (gray space). Dimensional data for the five parameters were obtained using Google Earth satellite images for 46 pesantren members of the Ecopesantren program, located across Sumatra and Java. Hierarchical cluster analysis was performed using the Wald method to categorize the pesantren and recommend strategies for enhancing their sustainability index. The analysis revealed that none of the pesantren had a sustainability index above 50%, primarily due to the limited use of white roofs and blue spaces. Five distinct clusters were identified: developed pesantren, pesantren toward development, pesantren with space competition, green pesantren, and compact pesantren. Specific recommendations for improving sustainability were proposed for each cluster type.
