Abstract

A head injury is scary. Head injuries can be fatal and require medical attention. Trauma severity evaluation helps clinicians make informed judgements, create effective treatment plans, reduce time and costs, and maybe prevent brain injury impairment and death. A comprehensive physiological grading system, the Revised Trauma Score evaluates human physiological function. This study examines the relationship between the Revised Trauma Score and head injury fatalities at RSUD dr. Saiful Anwar Malang. The research uses cross-sectional and observational correlation analytic methods. The study sampled 70 people incidentally. Used secondary data from observation sheets and medical records. The majority of 46 respondents (65.7%) had RTS scores of 11-12, indicating low brain injury. Despite the high mortality rate, 57 respondents (81.43%) survived. Spearman rank test two variables for correlation. The study found a 0.000 p-value between the RTS category and head injury mortality at RSUD Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang. Lighter RTS categories have lower mortality rates, while heavier ones have higher rates. RTS's effectiveness in predicting head injury death needs further study.

Abstract

Introduction: Varicose veins are a manifestation of venous insufficiency syndrome where in this syndrome the blood flow in the veins experiences a retrograde flow direction or backflow towards the legs which then experiences congestion. Minimally invasive surgical therapy such as Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA) causes pain, so therapy is needed to reduce pain, one of which is with cold compresses Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of cold compresses on pain Methods: The design of this study was observational analytic with a cross-sectional approach, using total sampling technique with a sample of 36 respondents. This research instrument used an observation sheet with a Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). Data analysis with the Wilcoxon test with SPSS IBM Version 23Results:The results showed that most respondents (pre-test) were 23 (63.9%), while most (post-test) experienced mild pain 32 respondents (88.9%). The results of the Wilcoxon statistical test obtained a p value = 0.000, which can be concluded that there is an average difference between pre-test and post-test painConclusions: The application of cold compresses can help post-operative patients to reduce the intensity of pain, by giving cold compresses, patients who experience pain feel a cold sensation given using a cold pack on the area of the former operation or around the area of the former operation can smooth blood circulation, reduce post-operative edema that has been performed so that patients feel reduced pain after being given the cold compress

Abstract

The operating room is a vital service in hospitals. The quality of service from theoperating room can be assessed from one indicator, namely operating room utilization.Utilization is the actual time required to carry out additional operations turnover (operationtransfer time) divided by the available time, where turnover averages over 15 minutes.Estimation of the duration of surgery is an important factor in operating room utilization. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between the accuracy of estimatingthe duration of surgery and the utilization of elective operating rooms in the Central SurgeryInstallation at RSUD Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang. This research method is a prospective cohortfor 19 working days. The sampling technique uses total sampling. The results of the studywere that almost all 284 operations (93.4%) were accurate in estimating the duration of theoperation according to estimates, and the majority of 197 operating rooms (64.8%) hadoperating room utilization in the poor category. Data analysis uses Chi-Square which showsthat the p-value is 0.007 <0.05, which means there is a relationship between the estimatedduration of surgery and operating room utilization. Operating room utilization can beoptimal if one of the factors can be met, namely the operation can be completed on time (onTime) which means the estimation of the duration of the operation must also be correct. Therefore, there is a need for synergy between multidisciplines in the operating room andmanagement in setting schedules and standards for estimating the duration of operations andit is necessary to re-socialize the quality of the operating room for users of the operatingroom and the rooms involved in it, because part of the quality of the operating room is afactors that can influence operating room utilization.

Abstract

Cancer can attack anyone, including teenagers. Cancer treatment in adolescents will go through a series of chemotherapy treatment processes. Adolescent patients who receive chemotherapy are at risk of experiencing side effects both physically and psychologically which are feared to affect their self-concept. One thing that influences teenagers' self-concept is family support. The design of this research is an observational analytical method with a cross sectional approach which aims to analyze the relationship between two variables at one time, namely the relationship between family support and self-concept in adolescents receiving chemotherapy. The sampling technique used was total sampling, namely all teenage patients who received chemotherapy at RSUD Dr Saiful Anwar, Malang as the sample. The research instruments were a family support questionnaire and a self-concept questionnaire which were filled in by adolescent patients. The research results showed that the majority of teenage patient respondents received high family support, namely 37 respondents (66.1%), and it was found that almost all respondents had a high self-concept, namely 50 respondents (89.3%). Based on the Pearson statistical test, it shows an r value of 0.608 (p value <0.05), so the results of this research show that there is a positive and strong relationship, the higher the family support, the higher the patient's self-concept. Therefore, families must be involved in providing support during chemotherapy with the hope that teenagers' self-concept will improve, they will have high self-confidence so that it will also have a positive impact during treatment.
