Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the SQ4R method in improving students' reading comprehension skills, using a literature review approach. The SQ4R method consists of six strategic steps: Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Reflect, and Review. These six stages are designed to foster active engagement of students in the reading process. This study relies on references from various national and international scientific journals, as well as relevant educational books. Based on the literature analysis, it was found that the SQ4R method not only helps students understand the literal content of the text but also strengthens their inferential and critical thinking skills. One of the key aspects of this approach is the Reflect stage, which encourages students to connect the reading material with their previous experiences and knowledge, thereby creating a more meaningful and contextual learning process. In conclusion, the SQ4R method has proven to be effective in strengthening reading comprehension skills and is worthy of being integrated into learning that meets the demands of the 21st-century curriculum. Abstract

This study aims to describe the experiences of physical education teachers in junior high schools in Bangkinang Subdistrict in implementing basic movement learning based on local wisdom, the assessment process, and the challenges faced. This qualitative study involved PJOK teachers as informants through interviews and observations. The results showed that teachers attempted to integrate elements of Riau Malay culture into basic movement activities, but implementation was not optimal due to limitations in guidance, facilities, and conceptual understanding. In the final assessment, teachers still used a general assessment format, which did not fully reflect local cultural values. The study recommends the development of a learning model and guidelines based on local wisdom so that implementation and assessment are more focused.

Abstract

Abstract

This study provides an integrated overview of evaluation models commonly applied in sports organizations and examines their contribution to improving management effectiveness. Using a systematic literature review, sources from Scopus, Google Scholar, and ERIC were searched with keywords related to organizational evaluation and sports management. Twenty-two eligible articles were analyzed thematically. The findings indicate that models such as CIPP, Logic Model, Balanced Scorecard, Outcome-Based Evaluation, and the Performance Evaluation Framework are the most widely used to assess governance quality, coaching processes, and organizational performance. These models play an important role in strengthening decision-making, accountability, program efficiency, and long-term sustainability. Despite these insights, the study is limited by its reliance on three major databases and a specific publication range, which may leave out other relevant sources. Overall, the study highlights the need for more adaptive and context-sensitive evaluation approaches, including those tailored to Indonesia’s unique organizational landscape.
