Abstract

This study examines the application of biomechanical principles to optimize athletic performance among physical education students. Biomechanics plays a crucial role in analyzing movement efficiency, reducing injury risk, and improving motor performance, yet its implementation in higher education remains limited. This literature review aims to synthesize empirical findings on how biomechanics contributes to enhancing technique, movement efficiency, and training quality in the context of physical education. A qualitative descriptive approach through library research was employed, drawing on scientific articles published between 2017 and 2025 that discuss biomechanical analysis, athletic performance, injury prevention, and technology-enhanced physical education. The literature search was conducted through Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, and DOAJ using relevant keywords. The selected studies indicate that biomechanical analysis—such as joint angle evaluation, ground reaction force measurement, and segmental coordination assessment—significantly improves students’ understanding of movement mechanics and supports evidence-based training adjustments. Furthermore, integrating accessible technologies like video-based motion analysis and virtual laboratory tools enhances scientific reasoning and digital literacy among physical education students. However, challenges persist, including limited laboratory facilities, insufficient educator training, and low technological readiness. In conclusion, applying biomechanical principles in physical education offers substantial benefits for optimizing athletic performance, strengthening scientific competence, and supporting modern, technology-oriented learning environments. These findings highlight the need for improved resources and continuous professional development to support sustainable implementation.

Abstract

Gangguan keseimbangan pada mahasiswa merupakan permasalahan kesehatan yang sering terabaikan namun memiliki dampak signifikan terhadap aktivitas akademik dan kualitas hidup. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan deteksi dini gangguan keseimbangan pada mahasiswa melalui pelatihan dan skrining kesehatan. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi penyuluhan tentang gangguan keseimbangan, pelatihan penggunaan instrumen skrining, serta pelaksanaan pemeriksaan keseimbangan menggunakan One Leg Stand Test. Kegiatan diikuti oleh 60 mahasiswa dari program studi PJKR. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa 28,3% mahasiswa mengalami gangguan keseimbangan ringan hingga sedang, dengan faktor risiko utama meliputi kurang aktivitas fisik, gangguan tidur, dan penggunaan gadget berlebihan. Setelah mengikuti program, terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan mahasiswa tentang gangguan keseimbangan sebesar 67,5% dan 85% peserta mampu melakukan deteksi dini secara mandiri. Program ini efektif meningkatkan kesadaran dan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam mendeteksi gangguan keseimbangan secara dini, sehingga dapat dilakukan intervensi preventif untuk mencegah dampak yang lebih serius.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan servis panjang badminton siswa laki-laki dan perempuan serta menginterpretasikan hasilnya melalui pendekatan biomekanika dasar. Penelitian menggunakan desain deskriptif kuantitatif dengan instrumen tes servis panjang yang mengacu pada norma Poole. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari siswa laki-laki (n=16) dan perempuan (n=12). Analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif meliputi nilai rata-rata, simpangan baku, nilai minimum–maksimum, serta distribusi kategori berdasarkan norma. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa berada pada kategori Tinggi (Interval Nilai = 21 – 30). Secara biomekanika, performa servis panjang dipengaruhi oleh produksi impuls, koordinasi rantai kinetik, dan sudut proyeksi shuttlecock. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan servis panjang siswa masih perlu ditingkatkan melalui pendekatan latihan yang menekankan koordinasi gerak dan efisiensi transfer energi.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of box jump and lateral jump training on shooting ability in soccer games. The method used is an experiment with a pretest-posttest control group design. The study sample consisted of 30 soccer players aged 17–20 years who were divided into two groups, namely the box jump training group and the lateral jump training group. The instrument used was a test of shooting ability towards the goal by measuring accuracy and speed of the shot. Data were analyzed using a paired t-test and ANOVA test with a significance level of ? = 0.05. The results showed that both training methods had a significant effect on improving shooting ability (p < 0.05). Box jump training showed an average increase of 18.7%, while lateral jump training showed an increase of 14.3%. There was a significant difference between the two groups, where the box jump group was more effective in improving shooting ability than the lateral jump group. It was concluded that box jump training was more dominant in improving shooting ability because it involved more vertical explosive movements that supported kick power.
