Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to explain the role of philosophical foundations—ontology, epistemology, and axiology—as a basis for strategic decision-making in educational management. Using a descriptive qualitative approach through contemporary literature analysis, the findings reveal that these three philosophical dimensions function integratively in shaping the direction, knowledge mechanisms, and ethical values underlying educational policies. Ontology provides orientation regarding the essence of education and institutional purpose; epistemology offers a knowledge framework and data-driven foundation for decisions; while axiology safeguards ethics, justice, and human values in policy implementation. The results are visualized through bar charts, pie charts, radar charts, and concept maps to illustrate the relationships among dimensions. The study concludes that the quality of strategic decisions is highly dependent on how well educational leaders understand and integrate these philosophical dimensions. Such integration is essential for creating visionary, knowledge-based, and ethically grounded policies in responding to modern educational challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the philosophical foundations of transformational leadership in educational institutions through the lenses of ontology, epistemology, and axiology. Using a literature review and content analysis approach, the research examines works related to leadership theory, educational philosophy, and organizational management. The findings reveal that transformational leadership is grounded in an ontological understanding of humans as agents of change who shape organizational dynamics. Epistemologically, knowledge in this leadership model is constructed through reflection, collaboration, and dialogical processes. Axiologically, values such as integrity, justice, and participatory ethics serve as the moral foundation for leadership actions. These findings affirm that transformational leadership represents a philosophical framework highly relevant to addressing 21st-century educational challenges and fostering sustainable transformation within educational culture and practice.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of philosophical foundations in the development of educational technology on improving students’ digital literacy. A quantitative approach with an explanatory survey design was employed, involving 360 senior high school students in Samarinda. The research instrument consisted of two main variables philosophical foundations of educational technology and digital literacy measured using a 1–5 Likert scale. Simple linear regression was used to determine the effect between variables. The results indicate that students possess a high level of understanding regarding the philosophical dimensions of educational technology, including humanism, constructivism, digital ethics, and educational values. Meanwhile, students’ digital literacy levels were also categorized as good, although slightly lower than their philosophical understanding. Regression analysis revealed a very strong influence of the philosophical foundations on digital literacy, with an R² value of 0.8022 and p < 0.001. These findings highlight that integrating philosophical values into the development and use of educational technology significantly contributes to enhancing students’ digital competencies. Therefore, educational technology requires not only technical proficiency but also an understanding of values, ethics, and meaning to ensure its reflective, critical, and responsible use in digital learning environments.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the philosophy of Human Capital and empowerment as strategic foundations for developing human resources (HR) in education. Using a systematic literature review of 42 recent scholarly sources, the study identifies that Human Capital strengthens educational personnel capacity through the development of knowledge, skills, and professional competence, while empowerment activates this capacity through autonomy, participation, intrinsic motivation, and organizational support. The findings reveal that integrating both approaches enhances educator performance, creativity, and innovation, while also strengthening educational organizational culture. The integrative Human Capital–Empowerment model developed in this study highlights that the quality of education is significantly influenced by the synergy between capacity building and empowerment mechanisms. This research offers theoretical contributions to educational management and practical recommendations for designing effective and sustainable HR development strategies in educational institutions.

Abstract

The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) presents significant opportunities for improving school management, yet simultaneously raises ethical concerns related to privacy, digital equity, and accountability. This study aims to analyze the readiness for AI implementation in school management across East Kalimantan using a mixed-methods approach that combines empirical dataset analysis with a philosophical review grounded in deontology, utilitarianism, and virtue ethics. The dataset consists of 30 schools and includes variables related to infrastructure readiness, such as the number of computers, internet availability, and AI usage levels (None–High). The findings indicate that 66.67% of schools have internet access; however, AI adoption remains relatively low, with most schools categorized as Low or Medium. These results highlight that infrastructure inequality can create digital injustice in AI deployment. The philosophical analysis emphasizes the need for comprehensive ethical policies, including data protection, algorithmic auditing, and human oversight, to ensure that AI implementation is fair and responsible. The study recommends a phased approach to AI adoption, enhanced technological literacy among educators, and strengthened data governance to ensure AI supports humanistic values and educational equity.
