Abstract

Enforcing discipline in schools is an important aspect in shaping character and a conducive learning environment. However, in practice, teachers often face a dilemma when disciplinary actions result in parental reporting, as seen in the case of Teacher Supriyani at SDN 4 Baito, Southeast Sulawesi. This study aims to describe the perceptions of Islamic Religious Education and Character Education (PAI BP) teachers regarding the enforcement of student discipline, particularly in the context of teacher reporting cases, with a focus on SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Purwokerto. The research method used is qualitative with a phenomenological approach, which seeks to understand the subjective experiences of PAI BP teachers in implementing discipline and the challenges they face. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The results show that PAI BP teachers view discipline as a manifestation of Islamic values ??that guide students to be obedient, responsible, and have good morals. Discipline is implemented in a persuasive, humanistic, and educative manner through habituation to worship, role models, and open communication with parents. Teachers emphasized the importance of documentation and coordination with the school to avoid misunderstandings that could lead to legal conflicts. They also recognized the need to strengthen legal protection and legal literacy for teachers to better prepare them for potential reporting. This study concluded that enforcing discipline grounded in Islamic values not only shapes students' religious character but also strengthens collaborative relationships among teachers, students, and parents. These findings contribute to the development of an educational discipline model that aligns with teachers' professional ethics and the demands of modern educational law.

Abstract

The interaction between environmental factors and psychological development plays a significant role in shaping students' character. Family, school, community, and digital environments serve as primary settings where students gain social, emotional, and educational experiences that influence their personal growth. At the same time, psychological development, which includes cognitive, emotional, social, and moral dimensions, affects how students interpret, respond to, and internalize values obtained from their surroundings. This article aims to examine the relationship between environmental influences and psychological development in the process of character formation among students, as well as to highlight the importance of collaboration among various educational stakeholders. The study employs a library research method by reviewing and analyzing relevant literature related to educational environments, developmental psychology, and character education. The findings indicate that supportive and positive environments contribute to healthy psychological growth and encourage the development of desirable character traits, such as responsibility, discipline, honesty, social awareness, and adaptability. Conversely, unfavorable environments may hinder both psychological development and character formation. Therefore, cooperation among families, schools, and communities is essential to create conditions that support students' holistic development and character building.

Abstract

The academic focus of students today is increasingly vulnerable to being disrupted by the high intensity of social media usage, despite the communication conveniences the platform offers. This phenomenon prompts this study, which aims to analyze how the duration of social media use affects students' learning concentration. Employing a quantitative method with a correlational design, this research involved a randomly selected sample of students who completed a questionnaire, with the data subsequently processed through simple linear regression analysis. The results confirm a significant negative correlation: the longer students browse social media daily, the more their learning concentration declines during the instructional process. Recommendations from this study emphasize the critical importance of collaboration between schools and parents to limit device screen time and teach prudent time management to students.

Abstract

Family conflict is a common issue in household life and can significantly affect children's psychological development. The family, which should serve as a source of security, affection, and emotional support, may become a source of stress when prolonged conflicts occur. This study aims to analyze the forms of family conflict and their impact on children's psychological well-being through a library research approach. The study employs a descriptive qualitative method by examining various scientific journals, books, research articles, and relevant literature. Data were collected through literature identification, selection, and review, then analyzed using content analysis techniques. The findings indicate that children who grow up in conflict-ridden families are more likely to experience anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem, social difficulties, and decreased academic performance. Family conflict also affects children's emotional stability, social relationships, and personality development. Therefore, healthy communication, positive parenting practices, and adequate emotional support from parents are essential to minimize the negative effects of family conflict on children's development and mental health.
