Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kondisi ekosistem di Bukit Umbul Kunci, Pesawaran, Lampung, yang belum diketahui struktur komunitas makrofauna yang dapat menjadi indikator stabilitas dan kesehatan habitat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis Indeks Dominansi, Indeks Keanekaragaman, dan Indeks Kemerataan jenis makrofauna dengan menggunakan metode Line Transect dan Pitfall Trap. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada tiga titik pengamatan, meliputi area landai, kawasan lereng, dan tepian sungai. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa metode Line Transect dan Pitfall Trap menghasilkan nilai indeks dominansi rendah 0,143 dan 0,426, indeks keanekaragaman jenis sedang 2,004 pada metode line transect dan 1,014 pada pitfall trap, dan indeks kemerataan tinggi 1,0 pada line transect dan 0,6 pada pitfall trap. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis bagaimana distribusi makrofauna di Bukit Umbul Kunci melalui parameter dominansi, keanekaragaman dan kemerataan jenis sebagai indikator struktur komunitas.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya kemampuan computational thinking (CT) dalam pembelajaran biologi pada era Society 5.0, karena kemampuan tersebut menjadi bagian penting dalam pengembangan pola pikir logis, sistematis, dan kreatif siswa. Namun, kemampuan computational thinking siswa dalam pembelajaran biologi masih perlu mendapat perhatian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan computational thinking siswa kelas X SMAN 1 Sukoharjo dalam pembelajaran biologi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMAN 1 Sukoharjo, Pringsewu, Lampung, Indonesia, dengan sampel siswa kelas X4 berjumlah 30 siswa yang dipilih menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Data kuantitatif diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan computational thinking, sedangkan data kualitatif diperoleh melalui wawancara guru dan siswa. Analisis data dilakukan dengan mendeskripsikan hasil tes dan wawancara untuk memberikan gambaran kemampuan CT siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan computational thinking siswa masih tergolong sangat rendah, terutama pada aspek pengenalan pola dan abstraksi. Hasil wawancara juga menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran masih didominasi metode ceramah dan diskusi, dengan keterbatasan pembelajaran berbasis proyek serta belum adanya pengukuran CT secara khusus. Implikasi penelitian ini menunjukkan perlunya inovasi pembelajaran, khususnya penerapan pembelajaran berbasis proyek dan integrasi computational thinking secara sistematis untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir logis, sistematis, dan kreatif siswa.

Abstract

Pre-service teachers (PSTs) are expected to have the ability to engage in mitigating various ecological difficulties in the future thanks to their abilities in critical analysis. Critical thinking (CT) is influenced by various factors. However, not much in-depth research has been conducted on CT skills in previous studies. This study evaluated PSTs’ CT abilities based on GPA, gender, and grade level. In this quantitative descriptive research, 265 PSTs from various institutions in Java, Indonesia participated. An ecological essay test was used to collect data, and descriptive statistics and the Kruskal Wallis test were used to analyze the data. The results showed that PSTs' CT skills were in the medium category ( = 45.12), with the interpretation component getting the highest score ( = 51.64) and the inference aspect getting the lowest score ( = 33.96). The findings of this study also showed statistically significant differences in CT skills based on GPA, gender, and grade level. Better CT skills are found in PSTs who have a high GPA, are female, and are in 5th grade. This finding may have an impact on improving lecture programs so that PSTs' CT skills improve more effectively.

Abstract

Students’ mastery of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) remains suboptimal. A new instructional model, the Flipped Learning Model with Case-based Tournament (FliCT Model), has been expert-validated to facilitate improvements in students’ HOTS. The FliCT Model integrates the principles of the case-based method and Team Games Tournament within a flipped learning framework. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the FliCT Model on a limited scale in improving HOTS-domain learning outcomes among undergraduate students of the Biology Education program. A total of 34 undergraduate students from the Biology Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Lampung, enrolled in Animal Ecology courses, participated in this pre-experimental study with a one-group pre-test–post-test design. The research data were collected using a validated instrument for the HOTS domain cognitive learning outcome test, which includes aspects of analyzing, evaluating, and creating. The data analysis used was the Wilcoxon test and the N-Gain test. The model design validation confirmed that the FliCT Model is highly valid (88.6). The Wilcoxon test indicated a significant improvement in students’ HOTS-domain learning outcomes after the implementation of the model (p<0,05), while the N-gain analysis showed a moderate level of improvement (0.49). These results demonstrate the effectiveness of the FliCT Model in enhancing students’ HOTS, particularly critical thinking, through the integration of case-based, competitive, and collaborative activities within a flipped learning framework. Further large-scale studies are required to establish the generalizability of these findings.
