Abstract

The integrative approach in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) Learning is a paradigmatic response to the challenges of disintegration of knowledge, educational dualism, and the reduction of spirituality that are still emerging in modern educational practices. This research aims to comprehensively examine the philosophical, conceptual, and implementive foundations of the integrative approach in PAI learning, as well as formulate operational models that are relevant to the needs of 21st century learning. This research uses a literature method with themetical-critical analysis of various classical and contemporary Islamic literature, national education policies, and empirical research related to the integration of knowledge. The results of the study show that the integrative paradigm rests on the epistemology of monotheism which views religious science and general science as a complementary unit, not a dichotom. The implementation of an integrative approach in PAI learning results in three main forms: concept integration, value integration, and pedagogical action integration. All three have been proven to increase the relevance of learning, depth of understanding, and internalization of Islamic values through contextual and holistic learning. This study concludes that an integrative approach is not just a methodological choice, but a strategic need to build an adaptive, moderate, and spiritual character strengthening Islamic education ecosystem.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the practice of kenduri from the perspective of Islamic education, focusing on its role in transmitting religious values and shaping moral character within Muslim communities in the Indonesian archipelago. The study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design, utilizing observation, interviews, and document analysis to explore how kenduri functions as a non-formal educational medium. The findings indicate that kenduri is not merely a social and religious ritual but a dynamic practice that embodies key Islamic educational values, including monotheism, gratitude, brotherhood, ta'awun (mutual assistance), and moral development. Through communal prayers, charitable activities, and collective preparation of feasts, participants internalize spiritual and social values experientially, fostering sincerity, humility, togetherness, and social awareness. Moreover, kenduri strengthens social cohesion and enhances divine consciousness by integrating cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects of learning within a communal context. These results highlight the relevance of kenduri as an effective contextualized educational strategy for contemporary Islamic education, demonstrating its potential to build moral society, reinforce Islamic identity, and cultivate character formation in daily life.

Abstract

The Hadith of Iftirāq al-Ummah states that the Muslim community will split into seventy-three sects, with only one group known as al-Firqah al-Nājiyah attaining salvation. This study aims to critically analyze the chain of transmission (sanad) and the text (matan) of this hadith, as well as to examine its contemporary theological implications, particularly concerning the understanding of the Firqah Nājiyah concept within the framework of Religious Moderation. The methodology applied includes takhrij and naqd al-ḥadīth (hadith criticism), enriched by a comparative study of the perspectives of classical theologians (mutakallimūn) and contemporary Indonesian scholars. The research findings reveal that this hadith possesses a strong sanad (ṣaḥīḥ li-ghayrihi) due to support from various corroborative transmissions (mutāba'āt). However, the matan specifically the threatening phrase "Hellfire" is vulnerable to criticism of shudhūdh if interpreted literally and outside its proper context. Within the contemporary socio-religious context of Indonesia, thinkers and scholars reconstruct the meaning of al-Firqah al-Nājiyah not as an exclusive and closed group identity, but as a collective commitment to practicing the principles of Religious Moderation (al-Wasaṭiyyah) and maintaining Unity (al-Jamā'ah). This reinterpretation ultimately encourages the development of an attitude of inclusiveness, tolerance, and broader social harmony within a plural society
