Abstract

This This study aims to analyze the strategic role of Islamic values in shaping children’s character within the family environment through a literature review approach. The review examines relevant national scholarly sources published between 2020 and 2025. The findings indicate that the family functions as the primary agent for the internalization of Islamic values, particularly honesty (ṣidq), trustworthiness (amānah), compassion (raḥmah), discipline, and responsibility, which are most effectively instilled through parental role modeling (uswah ḥasanah), habituation of religious practices, and consistent spiritual communication. The study also reveals that the challenges of the digital era necessitate adaptive Islamic parenting models, especially through the integration of value-based digital literacy and educational supervision of children’s media use. The main contribution of this study lies in its conceptual synthesis that bridges traditional Islamic character education with the contemporary realities of Muslim family life, an area that has largely been addressed in a fragmented manner in previous studies. Thus, this research reinforces the position of the family as the first madrasah, not only normatively religious but also contextually relevant in fostering children’s moral integrity and character in modern society.

Abstract

Stunting and malnutrition in early childhood remain serious global health issues, particularly in Indonesia. According to the 2022 Indonesian Nutritional Status Survey (SSGI), the national stunting prevalence reached 21.6%, a decrease from the previous year, but still above the WHO threshold of 20%. This situation reflects a gap between nutritional intervention theory and the reality of implementation in the field, particularly in the aspect of early detection of growth and development. This study used a literature review method by reviewing various relevant national and international research results from 2019–2024. The results indicate that the implementation of the Early Growth and Development Stimulation, Detection, and Intervention (SDIDTK) program plays a crucial role in identifying growth and development disorders due to malnutrition and stunting in early childhood. Integrated implementation of SDIDTK with health and education services has been shown to increase the effectiveness of interventions and accelerate the reduction of stunting rates. In conclusion, strengthening the early detection system for growth and development through cross-sectoral synergy is a fundamental strategy for creating a healthy and high-quality generation of Indonesian children.
