Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of eye–hand coordination training on improving underhand passing skills in volleyball among students of SMPN 17 Pamulang. Underhand passing is a fundamental technique that requires accuracy, strength, and good visual–motor coordination; however, many students still experience difficulties in controlling the direction and force of the ball. This research employed an experimental method using a non-equivalent control group design. The sample consisted of 30 eighth-grade students, divided into an experimental group and a control group, each comprising 15 students. The experimental group received eye–hand coordination training over eight sessions, while the control group followed conventional learning activities. Data were collected through underhand passing skill tests and eye–hand coordination tests administered before (pretest) and after the treatment (posttest). Data analysis included the Shapiro–Wilk test for normality, Levene’s test for homogeneity, Paired Sample t-test, and Independent Sample t-test with a significance level of 0.05. The results indicated a significant improvement in the experimental group between the pretest and posttest (p < 0.05), demonstrating that eye–hand coordination training had a positive effect on underhand passing skills. Furthermore, the comparison between groups showed a significant difference in passing ability, but no significant difference in the coordination variable. Therefore, eye–hand coordination training was proven to be effective in enhancing underhand passing skills of junior high school students. This study recommends that physical education teachers incorporate coordination training as part of volleyball instruction to improve students’ fundamental technical skills.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of Low Impact Aerobic exercise on the physical fitness of elderly individuals in the Lin Tien Kung Exercise Community, South Tangerang City. The background of this study was based on the decline in physiological functions among the elderly and the limited availability of structured, safe, and age-appropriate exercise programs. This research employed a quasi-experimental method with a One Group Pretest–Posttest Design, involving 25 elderly participants as the sample. The exercise program was conducted over 8 sessions within 4 weeks, with a duration of 45–60 minutes per session, consisting of warm-up, main activity, and cool-down phases. Data were collected using the Senior Fitness Test (SFT), which includes six components of physical fitness: Chair Stand Test, Arm Curl Test, Chair Sit and Reach Test, Back Scratch Test, 2-Minute Step Test, and 8-Foot Up and Go Test. Data analysis was performed using the Paired Sample t-Test to identify significant differences between pretest and posttest results. The analysis results showed Sig. (2-tailed) values < 0.05 for all components, indicating a significant effect of Low Impact Aerobic exercise on improving elderly physical fitness. Low Impact Aerobic exercise was proven to be effective in enhancing muscle strength, flexibility, balance, and endurance, as well as providing psychological benefits in the form of increased motivation and social interaction. This study recommends the implementation of Low Impact Aerobic exercise as a regular activity for elderly communities to maintain health and improve quality of life sustainably.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of target-throwing training on improving javelin throw accuracy among elementary school students at SDN Muncul 01 Setu, South Tangerang City. The background of this study was the low level of students’ throwing accuracy, which was influenced by limited variations in training methods and inadequate supporting facilities. A quasi-experimental method with a pretest–posttest control group design was employed, involving 40 students who were divided into an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group received target-throwing training for eight sessions, while the control group participated in conventional javelin throwing instruction. The research instrument was a javelin throw accuracy test administered before and after the intervention. Descriptive analysis showed a significant improvement in the experimental group, with the mean score increasing from 29.90 to 43.40. In contrast, the control group showed a smaller improvement, from 30.30 to 35.10. Statistical analysis using paired sample t-tests and independent sample t-tests indicated that target-throwing training had a significant effect on improving javelin throw accuracy (p < 0.05). These findings confirm that target-throwing training is an effective, safe, and relevant method for physical education instruction to enhance throwing accuracy among elementary school students.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kerja sama tim siswa melalui pelatihan aktivitas lari estafet berbasis sport pedagogy di Sekolah Menengah Atas. Pendekatan sport pedagogy menekankan proses pembelajaran olahraga yang tidak hanya berorientasi pada keterampilan fisik, tetapi juga pada pembentukan nilai-nilai sosial, tanggung jawab, komunikasi, dan kolaborasi antar peserta didik. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan melibatkan 50 peserta didik sebagai subjek pelatihan yang terdiri atas beberapa sesi, meliputi pengenalan teori dasar estafet, praktik teknik lari dan serah terima tongkat, serta refleksi kelompok untuk memperkuat nilai kerja sama dan sportivitas. Metode yang digunakan mencakup pendekatan partisipatif dan pembelajaran berbasis pengalaman (experiential learning), di mana siswa terlibat langsung dalam proses eksplorasi, praktik, dan refleksi. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui observasi dan penyebaran angket sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan untuk mengukur perubahan perilaku dan sikap kerja sama tim siswa. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dengan rata-rata peningkatan keseluruhan 25,8%. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa penerapan sport pedagogy dalam pembelajaran Penjas efektif untuk mengembangkan kemampuan sosial dan karakter siswa. Kegiatan ini memberikan kontribusi positif bagi guru dan sekolah dalam mengembangkan model pembelajaran inovatif yang lebih bermakna dan berorientasi karakter, serta dapat dijadikan contoh praktik baik dalam pembelajaran olahraga di tingkat SMA.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan motorik dasar dan kerja sama sosial peserta didik sekolah dasar melalui pendekatan pembelajaran yang aktif, menyenangkan, dan kolaboratif. Kegiatan ini melibatkan 40 siswa dan dua guru PJOK sebagai pendamping. Pelaksanaan program dilaksanakan melalui empat tahapan utama, yaitu: persiapan, sosialisasi program, pelaksanaan kegiatan inti, dan evaluasi-refleksi. Pada tahap persiapan, tim pelaksana menyiapkan sarana dan prasarana seperti lapangan, alat Kids Athletics, serta melakukan koordinasi dengan pihak sekolah. Hasil pelaksanaan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada kemampuan motorik dasar siswa sebesar 24% dan peningkatan kerja sama sosial sebesar 25%. Respon siswa menunjukkan tingkat kepuasan sebesar 94% (kategori sangat baik), di mana mereka merasa senang dan lebih termotivasi dalam mengikuti kegiatan jasmani. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan PKM ini memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan kemampuan motorik dan sosial siswa, serta membuka wawasan guru untuk menerapkan pembelajaran inovatif dalam pendidikan jasmani. Kegiatan ini direkomendasikan untuk dikembangkan secara berkelanjutan sebagai model pembelajaran aktif dan kolaboratif di sekolah dasar.
