Abstract

This study examines the integration of Islamic values and practical skills in Muhammadiyah education as an effort to create a competent and character-driven generation in the era of globalization. Muhammadiyah education, rooted in the thoughts of KH. Ahmad Dahlan, promotes the concept of integration between religious and worldly knowledge, aiming to produce individuals who are not only academically intelligent but also possess high morals. This study uses a qualitative library approach with a literature analysis method to explore and analyze how Muhammadiyah developed a curriculum that combines these two aspects. The findings indicate that this integration is crucial for producing graduates who are ready to face global challenges, by balancing religious knowledge and practical skills relevant to the needs of the times. Furthermore, this study emphasizes the importance of a holistic approach in education, which focuses not only on cognitive aspects but also on character development and social skills. Thus, Muhammadiyah education has the potential to become a model in creating a young generation ready to compete globally while adhering to strong religious values.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the application of positive psychology in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning in elementary schools and analyze its impact on students' spiritual well-being. Positive psychology, which focuses on developing happiness, gratitude, optimism, and empathy, is integrated into PAI materials to improve students' character and spiritual well-being. A qualitative research method with a case study approach was used to explore the experiences of students, teachers, and principals in implementing positive psychology in PAI learning. The results show that the application of positive psychology can increase students' self-confidence, learning motivation, and inner peace. Students involved in positive psychology-based learning demonstrate a more positive attitude, are able to manage their emotions, and have a greater sense of gratitude for their lives. Although there are challenges in implementation, such as differences in student backgrounds and limited learning time, a flexible and collaborative approach between teachers and parents can help overcome these obstacles. This research contributes to the development of an PAI curriculum that is more relevant and responsive to students' spiritual needs in the modern era

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis Transaksi (Transaction) antara Filsafat Pendidikan Islam dan Instrumentalisme John Dewey, dengan hipotesis bahwa sintesis keduanya dapat mengatasi Kesulitan yang Dirasakan (The Felt Difficulty) dalam pembentukan karakter adaptif di era modern. Dengan menggunakan metode komparatif-kualitatif, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa kesamaan tujuan dalam mencapai Pertumbuhan (Growth) individu yang utuh dapat diwujudkan melalui Instrumentalisme pedagogis. Pendekatan berbasis Pengalaman Nyata ala Dewey berfungsi sebagai alat fungsional untuk menguji dan mengaplikasikan nilai-nilai normatif Islam, memindahkannya dari ranah kepatuhan pasif menjadi Berpikir Reflektif (Reflective Thinking) yang aktif. Hasilnya adalah sebuah model Rekonstruksi Pengalaman yang holistik, di mana spiritualitas diperkuat oleh Kecerdasan Sosial (Social Intelligence) siswa. Dengan demikian, integrasi ini menawarkan kerangka pendidikan yang relevan dan inklusif, yang siap membekali generasi mendatang dengan karakter moral yang berdaya guna dalam menghadapi dinamika sosial yang plural dan senantiasa berubah.
