Abstract

The background of this research is based on the needs of students and the resolution of various issues faced by students, which serves as a significant motivation for a counselor to continually enhance their performance through personality, skills, creativity, knowledge, and competencies they possess. One of the areas that counselors should improve is their mastery of various techniques that can be applied in the counseling process to help address client problems. This type of research is qualitative in nature and employs a literature review approach, specifically, the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The general objective of this research is to describe the performance of counselors. Based on the analysis, it was found that the journaling technique can be applied in addressing student issues.

Abstract

Anak-anak saat ini, terutama siswa sekolah sangat membutuhkan internet untuk menyelesaikan tugas sekolah mereka. Jika anak-anak bebas mengakses internet tanpa pengawasan orang tua, hal itu dapat berakibat fatal. Kondisi ini pasti akan semakin mengkhawatirkan karena gadget akhirnya akan menggantikan peran sosial anak-anak yang seharusnya mereka lakukan, seperti berinteraksi dengan orang tua, teman, lingkungan, dan kreativitas di dunia nyata. Selain itu, gadget dapat mempengaruhi pikiran anak-anak, membuat mereka ketagihan, dan sangat memungkinkan untuk menghubungkan mereka dengan dunia kekerasan, gangguan, dan tontonan  berindikasi negatif. Berbagai kondisi tantangan yang dihadapi anak tersebut, kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat tersebut dilaksanakan, dengan tujuan mengedukasi para orang tua sehingga bisa melakukan upaya yang tepat dalam mengasuh dan mendidik anak-anak di era digital ini. Adapun abdimas ini dilakukan dengan memberi materi edukasi (parenting) kepada para orang tua binaan Rumah Keluarga Indonesia (RKI) kecamatan makasar Jakarta Timur.

Abstract

Despite extensive research on parenting styles and student discipline, empirical studies that explicitly examine gender-based differences in this relationship remain limited, particularly at the junior secondary school level in Indonesia. This study aims to address this gap by investigating the relationship between parenting styles and student discipline when viewed from the child’s gender, thereby offering a more nuanced understanding of parental influence in character development. A quantitative correlational design was employed involving 212 ninth-grade students of SMP Al-Ma’soem in the 2025–2026 academic year, consisting of 124 male students and 88 female students. Data were collected using validated and reliable Likert-scale questionnaires measuring parenting styles and student discipline. Spearman rank correlation analysis revealed a positive and statistically significant relationship between parenting styles and discipline among male students (ρ = 0.177; p = 0.049), although the strength of the relationship was very low. In contrast, no significant relationship was found among female students (ρ = 0.024; p = 0.826). These findings highlight gender-specific patterns in the association between parenting styles and student discipline, suggesting that parental influence tends to be more salient for male students, while female students’ discipline may be shaped more strongly by internal regulation and broader environmental factors. The study contributes theoretically to guidance and counseling literature by emphasizing the importance of incorporating gender perspectives in parental involvement strategies aimed at fostering student discipline.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dimotivasi oleh adanya Permendikdasmen No. 11 Tahun 2025, dimana adanya peran guru selain mengajar, dilibatkan sebagai guru wali kelas hingga kelulusan siswa. Latar belakang yang ditemukan, para guru yang sudah terbiasa dengan konsep belajar terpusat dengan siswa, siswa berasal dari banyak macam ragam suku budaya, timbul perbedaan perspektif siswa dengan guru tertentu karena aksen bicara, serta belum ada kesiapan bagi internal sekolah untuk kebijakan guru wali kelas. Adapun tujuan kegiatan agar guru semakin mengintegrasikan nilai budaya melalui pemahaman konsep dasar ethnoguidance dan regulasi diri, selain guru memiliki keterampilan ethnoguidance dalam membimbing siswa, guru mampu menunjukkan komunikasi empatik dengan siswa yang beragam latar belakang sosial budaya. Metode pelaksanaan yang digunakan dengan pendekatan partisipatif. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara Guru BK, dan refleksi peserta terhadap tanggapan selama pelaksanaan kegiatan. Hasil menunjukkan antusiasme peserta dalam interaktif.
