Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the role of Conti Entertain, a digital entertainment platform, as a gateway to gambling behavior among adolescents, focusing on the challenges and potential solutions. With the rapid growth of digital technology, platforms like Conti Entertain, which integrate gaming and entertainment with monetary incentives, have increasingly attracted young audiences. Theoretical framework: Theoretical underpinnings of this research draw from theories of adolescent cognitive development, social influence, and digital consumer protection. Literature Review: A literature review highlights that digital gambling, particularly through mechanisms like loot boxes and random rewards, has become a growing concern within the digital entertainment ecosystem. Methods: This research adopts a qualitative methodology using a case study approach. Data collection methods include in-depth interviews with adolescents, parents, and experts in digital media, psychology, and law, along with content analysis of features within Conti Entertain that promote gambling tendencies. Results: The findings reveal that Conti Entertain significantly influences gambling-like behaviors through mechanisms such as loot boxes, random rewards, and monetization features that blur the line between gaming and gambling. Adolescents are particularly susceptible to these tactics due to their developing cognitive control and peer influence. The study identifies inadequate regulations and lack of parental supervision as major challenges aggravating the issue. Implications: The implications of this study underscore the necessity for stricter regulations on digital entertainment platforms to protect young users from exploitative monetization schemes. Parental awareness and active engagement in monitoring online activities are equally critical. Novelty: The novelty of this research lies in its focus on Conti Entertain as a specific case study within the broader digital gambling landscape. These findings contribute significantly to understanding the link between digital entertainment and gambling behavior among adolescents, offering practical solutions to address this pressing issue.

Abstract

Objective: This study maps the bibliometric landscape of the study of Islamic philosophy, law, and law for the period 2019–2024 with a focus on themes, influential figures, publication trends, and the interconnectedness of philosophy of law, ethics, and human rights in global discourse. Theoretical framework: This study uses bibliometric approaches and scientific communication theory to analyze patterns of publication, collaboration, and cross-disciplinary knowledge development. Literature review: Previous studies have shown interdisciplinary trends in Islamic philosophy, law, and economics, but not many have examined the connection between the three simultaneously. Methods: Data obtained from Scopus using a Boolean search. Of the 14,632 articles, 185 were selected for analysis with Microsoft Excel, R-Studio, and VOSViewer, covering publication trends, collaborations, institutional contributions, and keyword co-occurrence. Results: Publications peaked in 2021 and then declined. Major contributors are from the US, UK, and Indonesia. The analysis shows the close linkage between ethics, philosophy, and law with a multidisciplinary character, as well as identifying key academics and institutions. Implications: A study of the post-2021 productivity decline and increased international collaboration, especially from underrepresented regions, is needed. Novelty: This research is the first comprehensive mapping that integrates Islamic philosophy, law, and law (2019–2024), affirms multidisciplinary interconnectedness, and places Indonesia as an important actor in global academic discourse.

Abstract

Market distortions and volatility in food raw material prices place culinary microenterprises in a vulnerable position due to their limited control over cost structures. This study aims to explain how upstream supply chain self-reliance is developed as a structural response to market distortions in culinary microenterprises. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study design, this research examines Warung Mie Ayam Bakso Putra Kelana in Krui, Lampung. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the business owner and supporting informants and were analyzed using thematic analysis based on a conceptual framework. The findings reveal that upstream sector integration through self-managed cattle farming, feed management and slaughtering processes in accordance with halal standards, as well as the development of a chili cultivation plot, functions as an internal buffering mechanism against price volatility. Such supply chain self-reliance limits the transmission of market price fluctuations to the internal cost structure, enabling the enterprise to maintain price stability and operational sustainability amid volatile input prices. This study contributes a case-based conceptual insight into the role of upstream supply chain self-reliance as an internal stabilization mechanism for culinary microenterprises operating within distorted food markets.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of digital inequality on the right to higher education in Kenya and Indonesia through a comparative political economy perspective. Digital transformation has expanded opportunities for learning, but it has also exposed unequal access to technology, internet connectivity, digital devices, and digital literacy among students and institutions. Using a qualitative comparative approach, this study relies on secondary data, policy documents, institutional reports, and relevant academic literature to analyze how structural disparities shape access to digital higher education in both countries. The findings show that Indonesia has made broader progress in expanding digital infrastructure and online learning systems, yet it continues to face significant regional gaps, particularly between urban and remote areas. Kenya, by contrast, demonstrates stronger digital innovation and a dynamic technology ecosystem, but affordability, unstable connectivity, and uneven institutional capacity remain major barriers. In both contexts, digital inequality is not merely a technical problem, but a structural issue shaped by socioeconomic status, geography, market access, and policy implementation. These inequalities limit the realization of the right to higher education and risk reproducing existing social exclusion. The novelty of this study lies in integrating rights-based analysis with political economy to compare digital inequality across two Global South contexts. The study recommends stronger regulation, affordable connectivity, inclusive digital infrastructure, and equity-oriented higher education policies.
