Abstract

Introduction: This review aims to explore the factors influencing cervical screening uptake among women in low and middle-income countries. Methods: The studies were systematically identified by searching electronic databases with the keywords “cervical cancer AND screening AND low of income countries AND middle of income countries.” The results consisted of 94 articles from Scopus, 100 articles from Science Direct, 74 articles from EBSCO, and 32 articles from PubMed. Following this, 16 studies were included in this systematic review with the inclusion criteria being quantitative or qualitative studies exploring the factors influencing woman’s cervical cancer screening uptake covering women in low- and middle- income countries, a clear study outcome and details on the associated factors, barriers to, and facilitators of screening uptake. Results: Knowledge about the disease and its prevention, knowing someone with cervical cancer and someone who has ever been screened, attitude and perception, husband approval,  advice from the health care providers, and the distance to health care service were all important factors related to cervical cancer screening uptake in low and middle-income countries.  The uptake of cervical cancer screening services was poor in low and middle-income countries. There is a need to strengthen the knowledge and awareness of woman related to cervical cancer screening services. Conclusion: The available evidence shows that intrapersonal and organizational factors are the most important factors that influence woman to undergo cervical cancer screening.

Abstract

Introduction: Elderly abuse appears to become an important public health concern and to be widely underestimated by health professionals. The cases are misunderstood and misreported, and often reported as fatal consequences of crimes toward elders. The aim of this review was to explore the factors in occurrence of elder abuse among healthcare workers in nursing homes. Methods: Seven databases, including Scopus, EBSCO, ProQuest, PubMed, CINAHL, Web of Science and ScienceDirect, were explored to search relevant articles. The initial keywords were “elderly” “abuse” “healthcare workers” and “nursing homes”. The search was limited to English and the data sources were limited to articles published from 2015-2020.Results: The perspective of the WHO’s integrated care for older people was used as a lens to discuss the results. Fourteen articles were involved in the review. This review suggests that healthcare workers in nursing homes do elder abuse because of their high workload and lack of knowledge around the topic. Conclusion: This finding acts as a contributor to the paucity of study about elder abuse among healthcare workers. The available evidence suggests that elder abuse has become a significant problem in nursing homes. It is indicated that elder abuse was never been a popular topic among the health workers in nursing homes.

Abstract

Generation Z (Gen Z) refers to individuals born between 1997 and 2012. Mental health refers to the emotional, psychological, and social conditions that affect how individuals think, feel, and behave. This generation tends to be independent, creative, unique characteristic and highly socially aware. However, they are also vulnerable to social and mental pressures due to the complex demands of life, which causes Generation Z to face specific challenges affecting their mental health. This scoping review discusses the factors influencing the mental health of Gen Z in the digital era. Articles were searched using databases including ScienceDirect, PubMed, Google Scholar, and ProQuest, focusing on publications from 2021 to 2025. The authors selected and analyzed articles using the PRISMA framework based on predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The search across several electronic databases revealed 538 research articles. After screening, a total of 15 articles were analyzed. The results identified factors influencing the mental health of Gen Z, such as social support (emotional, instrumental, informational, and friendship support), family environment, work-related stress, personal issues, exposure to negative content on social media (including cyberbullying, fake news, and body shaming), online gaming, technology use, and coping mechanisms. Gaining insight into the factors influencing the mental health of Gen Z can help in preventing mental and emotional disorders and support the promotion of overall well-being.

Abstract

The use of pesticides in agriculture increases crop yields, but poses health risks to farmers, especially without PPE. Global data shows a high rate of pesticide poisoning, especially in developing countries. In Indonesia, farmers' awareness and compliance with the use of PPE are still low due to factors related to education, training, and risk perception. This study aims to analyze the level of awareness among farmers regarding the use of PPE and the factors that influence their occupational safety practices when using pesticides. This study employed a literature review method, searching articles from three electronic databases: PubMed, ScienceDirect, and SpringerLink. The selection of articles was carried out in stages based on the keywords used "farmers" OR "agricultural workers" AND "awareness" OR "knowledge" OR "perception" AND "personal protective equipment" OR "PPE" AND "use" OR "utilization" OR "practice" AND "analysis" OR "study" OR "assessment", until 12 primary articles were analyzed in depth. The results show that the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) remains relatively low and inconsistent, despite most individuals having received training and sufficient knowledge. There is a gap between knowledge and practice of PPE use among tobacco farmers, which is influenced by various social and structural factors. Educational interventions based on behavioral models, cross-sectoral involvement, and the provision of adequate PPE are essential to improve farmers' work safety sustainably.
