Abstract

Language is a reflection of a nation's identity, and in Indonesia, the unifying language used is Bahasa Indonesia. This language is important to unite the people, facilitate communication, and foster a sense of nationality. Bahasa Indonesia is held in high esteem, as stated in the third pledge of the 1928 Youth Pledge, and is the only official national language in accordance with the 1945 Constitution. Language plays an important role in human life. Without language, life cannot run well. Effective interaction depends on language proficiency, because clear communication is needed so that messages and emotions can be conveyed. Without it, misunderstandings and emotional distance can occur between individuals. Therefore, language is a primary need in social life and functions as a means of communication. With good communication, it is hoped that the unity of the Indonesian nation will be realized, and language can also protect oneself and the country from the threat of disintegration.
