Abstract

The science learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Lamcot are still suboptimal due to teacher-centered learning and limited use of models and media that promote student engagement in the learning process. This study aimed to examine the effect of the Make a Match learning model assisted by Explosion Box media on students’ science learning outcomes on local wisdom topics. The study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a nonequivalent control group. The subjects consisted of 44 students divided into an experimental class and a control class. The instruments used were pretest and posttest, and the data were analyzed using an Independent Sample t-test through SPSS version 25. The results showed that the average pretest scores of the experimental and control classes were 46.82 and 38.86, respectively. After implementing the Make a Match model assisted by Explosion Box media, the average posttest score of the experimental class increased to 86.36, while the control class reached only 71.14. Analysis indicated that this difference was significant (p = 0.00 < 0.05). Thus, the Make a Match model assisted by Explosion Box media has a significant effect on the science learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Lamcot

Abstract

Differentiated learning is an instructional approach that accommodates the diversity of students’ characteristics and learning needs in the classroom. However, each educational institution has different characteristics, making further analysis necessary to examine how differentiated learning is implemented at SDN 1 Pagar Air, Aceh Besar. This study aims to analyze the implementation of differentiated learning in the IPAS subject for Grade VI on the topic of the skeletal system, joints, and muscles at SDN 1 Pagar Air, Aceh Besar. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The research subjects consist of the teacher and Grade VI students, while the focus of the study is on the planning and implementation of differentiated learning. Data were collected through classroom observations, teacher interviews, and analysis of instructional modules. The data were analyzed by examining and connecting findings from the three data sources to obtain a comprehensive description of instructional practices. The results of the study indicate that differentiated instruction was implemented beginning with the mapping of students’ characteristics, learning needs, and learning style tendencies, which served as the basis for developing instructional materials and selecting learning media. In practice, content differentiation was reflected in the use of varied learning media aligned with students’ learning styles, although the same learning material was still provided to all students. Process differentiation was implemented through the use of varied teaching methods, learning activities, and differentiated guidance based on students’ needs, while product differentiation was realized by allowing students to demonstrate their learning outcomes through different products while maintaining the same learning objectives. It can be concluded that the implementation of differentiated instruction reflects contextual teaching practices that accommodate student diversity and support the achievement of learning objectives.

Abstract

Learning of IPAS in elementary schools still presents challenges for students with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), particularly in maintaining attention, controlling hyperactive and impulsive behaviors, and achieving active learning engagement. These conditions require the implementation of adaptive learning strategies that align with the characteristics of students with ADHD. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Game Based Learning (GBL) strategy in IPAS learning on the topic of animal body parts and their functions for third-grade students with ADHD at SD Negeri 1 Pagar Air, Aceh Besar Regency. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The research subjects consisted of a third-grade teacher and 28 third-grade students, five of whom were identified as having ADHD. Data were collected through observations and interviews using teacher and ADHD student observation sheets as well as a teacher interview guide. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through technique triangulation. The results indicate that the implementation of the Game Based Learning strategy supports the achievement of IPAS learning objectives, increases active participation and learning motivation of students with ADHD, and gradually assists in managing their learning behaviors, although some ADHD symptoms still appeared during the learning process. Learning activities were also able to channel students’ energy in a positive and directed manner, with the Battle Ship game being the most effective in helping students maintain focus. Therefore, the Game Based Learning strategy is recommended as an effective IPAS learning strategy for students with ADHD in elementary schools, provided that optimal time management and teacher guidance are ensured.

Abstract

This research aims to determine teacher activities, student activities, and improvement of learning outcomes of third-grade students at SD Negeri Lamkunyet Aceh Besar through the use of scrapbook learning media on Pancasila Education material. This research used a qualitative approach with Classroom Action Research (CAR) type conducted in two cycles, where each cycle consisted of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were the third-grade teacher and 20 third-grade students at SD Negeri Lamkunyet Aceh Besar. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation and tests (pretest-posttest). Data analysis of teacher and student activities used percentage formulas, while analysis of learning outcomes used average score calculations and classical completeness percentages. The research results showed that teacher activities increased from 66% (Good category) in cycle I to 81% (Very Good category) in cycle II. Student activities also increased from 65.79% (Fair category) in cycle I to 75% (Good category) in cycle II. Student learning outcomes showed significant improvement, with average scores increasing from 48 in the pre-action stage to 65 in cycle I, and reaching 74.5 in cycle II. Classical completeness increased from 10% before the action to 60% in cycle I, and reached 85% in cycle II, exceeding the minimum target of 80%. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of scrapbook learning media proved effective in improving teacher activities, student activities, and student learning outcomes on Pancasila Education material for third-grade students at SD Negeri Lamkunyet Aceh Besar. Scrapbook media was able to create active, creative, engaging, and meaningful learning for students

Abstract

The Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) is considered capable of bridging this gap through real contexts and meaningful activities. Thus, the RealisticiMathematicsiEducation has an effect on improving student learning outcomes, although it requires time management and reinforcement of the concept of subtraction.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low understanding of fourth-grade elementary school students on the material of whole numbers caused by a learning approach that is not yet in accordance with students' cognitive development. The application of the Role Playing method assisted by Math Shop media is seen as being able to bridge the gap through real contexts and meaningful activities. This study aims to determine the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students of SD Negeri 6 on the material of whole numbers. The study used a qualitative approach with a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design for 24 students. Data were collected through observations of teacher activities, observations of student activities and student learning outcome tests after learning, then analyzed using the average value of observation scores in each cycle to determine the level of learning implementation. Thus, the application of the Role Playing method assisted by Math Shop media can improve student learning outcomes on the material of whole numbers, although it requires time management in several cycles.

Abstract

This study is motivated by students’ low understanding of mathematical concepts, particularly in circle material, which is caused by learning processes that are not yet fully contextual and do not actively engage students. This study aims to determine the effect of the ethnomathematics-based Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach on grade VI students’ understanding of circle concepts at SDN Lampeuneurut Aceh Besar. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a nonequivalent control group design. The research population consisted of all grade VI students at SDN Lampeuneurut, with the sample comprising two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class, selected using purposive sampling. The research instrument was a 10-item essay test administered in the form of pretest and posttest. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 31 with an independent sample t-test. The results showed a significance value (2-tailed) < 0.001 < 0.05, indicating that Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected. Therefore, it can be concluded that the ethnomathematics-based Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach has a significant effect on grade VI students’ understanding of circle concepts at SDN Lampeuneurut Aceh Besar.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of the Scramble-type cooperative learning model on students’ learning outcomes in Pancasila Education among fourth-grade students at SDN 1 Lambheu Aceh Besar. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method using a nonequivalent control group design. The population consisted of all fourth-grade students, with the sample comprising an experimental class and a control class selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a 20-item multiple-choice test administered as pretest and posttest. The data were analyzed using the N-Gain test, normality and homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing through an independent sample t-test with the assistance of SPSS. The findings revealed that students taught using the Scramble-type cooperative learning model achieved higher learning outcomes compared to those taught using the direct learning model. The hypothesis testing showed a significance value (2-tailed) < 0.05, indicating that Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Scramble-type cooperative learning model has a significant effect on the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students in Pancasila Education at SDN 1 Lambheu Aceh Besar.
