Abstract

Stroke is one of the leading causes of death in the world caused by blockage and broken blood vessels. To restore its function back, a rehabilitation process is needed, one of which is using finger therapy tools. The purpose of this study was to determine the structural strength of the finger therapy device, both on the support structure of the arm and on the structure of the palm of the hand. This study uses the software to determine the acceptable structural strength of the finger therapy device. Based on the simulations that have been carried out, the results obtained are the maximum stress of 0.087 MPa on the forearm support structure and 45,798 MPa on the palm support structure. The total deformation value is 0.001 mm in the forearm support structure and 1.2 mm in the palm support structure. While the safety factor value obtained is 15 on the forearm support structure and 1.18 on the palm support structure. From these results the structure is declared safe and can withstand the maximum load.

Abstract

The Sungai Banjir Kanal Barat is currently one of the attractions for the residents of Semarang City, but currently the Sungai Banjir Kanal Barat still does not have water attractions, one of which is a water bike ride. The design this time tries to make a water bike design that is suitable for water recreation in the Sungai Banjir Kanal Barat area of ​​Semarang City. In the design process, the design is carried out using Solidworks 2021 software and motion analysis is carried out on the transmission system. In addition, the design of this water bike is also equipped with material selection according to the conditions in the West Flood Canal River, Semarang City. Before designing the design, the author reviews several variations of the concept, then the author chooses the best concept to be used as a design design. The selected concept product weighs 67 kg, length 180 cm, width 120 cm, and height 90 cm. Most of the selected concept products use carbon steel material, and use PVC pipe as a float.

Abstract

Efisiensi mesin CNC Milling sangat berpengaruh terhadap produktivitas industri manufaktur. Penurunan kinerja mesin sering terjadi akibat gangguan operasional yang belum dianalisis secara sistematis. Metode Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) dan Six Big Losses digunakan untuk mengukur efektivitas mesin serta mengidentifikasi sumber utama kehilangan efisiensi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat efisiensi mesin CNC Milling berdasarkan nilai Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) dan Six Big Losses selama periode Januari hingga Juni. OEE dihitung berdasarkan tiga parameter utama, yaitu Availability Rate, Performance Efficiency, dan Rate of Quality. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata Availability mencapai 99%, Rate of Quality 100%, dan Performance Efficiency sebesar 84,67%, dengan nilai OEE rata-rata sebesar 83,83%. Nilai ini menunjukkan bahwa performa mesin berada pada kategori baik, namun belum mencapai standar kelas dunia. Faktor utama yang menurunkan OEE adalah efisiensi performa yang masih di bawah optimal. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa kerugian terbesar berasal dari kategori Speed Losses, yaitu Idle and Minor Stoppages (41,72%) dan Reduce Speed Losses (35,35%), dengan total kontribusi 77,07% terhadap waktu kerugian. Downtime Losses menyumbang 22,93%, sementara Defect Losses tidak tercatat. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa efisiensi mesin lebih dipengaruhi oleh kecepatan kerja dan gangguan kecil dibandingkan kerusakan atau cacat produk. Optimalisasi proses operasi dan penerapan Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) direkomendasikan untuk meningkatkan efektivitas mesin. Oleh karena itu, peningkatan efisiensi kerja dan pengurangan hambatan minor perlu dilakukan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas dan efektivitas mesin secara keseluruhan.

Abstract

The manufacturing industry is continuously challenged to improve production efficiency and quality. Production machinery plays a crucial role in supporting smooth manufacturing processes, especially in the fabrication of special vehicle components. One such machine is the TruLaser 1030, a 2D laser cutting machine manufactured by TRUMPF, which is used for processing body and accessory parts in special vehicles. This study aims to evaluate the performance of the TruLaser 1030 machine using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method, as well as to identify damaged machine components and maintenance requirements. The Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) approach is applied to enhance equipment effectiveness, prevent breakdowns, and ensure product quality and workplace safety. The OEE methodology involves three main parameters: Availability, Performance Rate, and Quality Rate. The results show the machine’s availability at 94%, performance rate at %, and quality rate at 97.1%. These findings suggest that the TruLaser 1030 machine operates at a relatively optimal level; however, regular evaluations of work systems and maintenance programs are necessary to maintain stable performance and continuously improve productivity.

Abstract

BACKGROUND : Prevention and treatment of sarcopenia are important to achieve physical health in aging, including maintaining the physical ability to live independently and carry out daily activities. AIMS :  To determine the effect of a muscle-strengthening exercise program using elastic bands for 8 weeks in order to increasing muscle strength in elderly people with sarcopenia. Arm muscles (biceps and triceps) and leg muscles (quadriceps and gastrocnemius) were measured. METHOD : An intervention study with a one-group pre- and post-test design. Subjects were taken from the elderly home by as many as five women and five men. Subjects were given strengthening exercises using elastic bands in as many as 2 sets; each set was done in as many as 10 movements, and each movement was given a rest interval of 30 seconds. The elastic band strengthening exercise program was carried out three times per week, with a period of eight weeks, so that the total training was 24 sessions. Changes in muscle strength were measured using a MicroFET2 hand-held dynamometer. Furthermore, the results of muscle measurements were tested using the paired-samples T test to determine the difference in muscle strength between before and after doing the exercise program. RESULT : Female and male subjects had an insignificant average age of 68.80 ± 5.12 years for women and 68.60 ± 5.64 years for men. The average BMI value in women and men had an ideal value of 24.38 ± 2.89 kg/m2 and 24.82 ± 5.65 kg/m2. The right limbs in the biceps, triceps, quadriceps, and gastrocnemius muscles each experienced an increase in muscle strength during the intervention, namely 2.67 kg, 2.14 kg, 1.99 kg, and 1.87 kg. Then for the left limbs, the biceps, triceps, quadriceps, and gastrocnemius muscles also experienced an increase, namely 2.96 kg, 1.42 kg, 2.28 kg, and 2.51 kg. The intervention carried out in this study can significantly increase upper limb and lower limb muscle strength (p<.05). CONCLUSION : Resistance training using elastic bands routinely for 8 weeks can increase the strength of the biceps, triceps, quadriceps, and gastrocnemius muscles. This exercise can also reduce the risk of sarcopenia and improve the quality of life for the elderly. This exercise program can be a recommendation for intervention because it is economical and easy to do independently at home.
