Abstract

ABSTRACT Title: Meta-Analysis Relationship Between Clean Water Availability, Latrine Ownership, and Personal Hygiene on Stunting Incidence in Toddlers (2018-2023)Background: Stunting was a chronic malnutrition problem caused by insufficient nutrient intake over a prolonged period. Previous studies showed that environmental factors played a role in the incidence of stunting. Some research found a significant association with stunting, while other studies did not find a meaningful relationship. Therefore, the objective of this study was to analyze the most dominant environmental risk factors, which included the variables of clean water availability, toilet ownership, and personal hygiene. Methods: This study employed a meta-analysis using JASP software version 0.18.0.0. The data were sourced from Google Scholar and Publish or Perish. The articles were then selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, resulting in 40 research articles from the period of 2018–2023.Results: The meta-analysis showed that clean water availability had a significant association with a reduced risk of stunting in toddlers (PR = 0.52; 95% CI: 0.38–0.93; p < 0.05). This indicated that toddlers with access to clean water had only a 52% risk of stunting compared to those without access. Toilet ownership was also significantly associated with stunting (PR = 0.48; 95% CI: 0.41–1.06; p < 0.05), meaning that toddlers from families with a toilet had a 48% risk of stunting compared to families without one. Meanwhile, personal hygiene showed a protective yet still significant relationship with a PR = 0.65 (95% CI: 0.13–0.73; p < 0.05), which meant that good personal hygiene practices could reduce the risk of stunting by 35%.Conclusion: Based on the results of the conducted meta-analysis, the variable of toilet ownership was identified as the highest contributing factor to stunting in toddlers. This was followed by the variable of clean water availability as the second risk factor, while the variable of personal hygiene demonstrated the lowest influence.

Abstract

Malaria is still a public health problem in Indonesia and had the potential to be affected by climate change due to greenhouse gas emissions. This study aimed to analyze the correlations among greenhouse gas emissions across sectors, temperature, humidity, and malaria incidence in Indonesia. The study used an ecological design with a quantitative observational approach based on national aggregate data for the period 2000–2019. Greenhouse gas emission data were obtained from national inventory reports, temperature and humidity data from BMKG, and malaria data from BPS. Statistical analysis was carried out using the Spearman rank correlation test. The results showed that only the emissions of the Industrial Processes and Product Use (IPPU) sector had a strong and significant positive correlation with temperature (p = 0.025). In contrast, the other emission sectors were not significant. In addition, temperature and humidity showed a strong, significant negative correlation with malaria incidence (p = 0.007 and p = 0.005). These findings confirm that the relationship between climate and malaria is complex and non-linear, and is influenced by non-climatic factors such as strengthening of health systems and vector control.

Abstract

Eggs are the most popular source of protein in Indonesia. The quality of eggs is prone to decline due in management and handling. Eggs can be damaged, one cause of which is microbial growth. Many studies also proved that some eggs sold on the market contain antibiotic residues. The purpose of this study is to determine the presence of antibiotics and bacterial residues on eggs circulating in Indonesia. This study also aims to conduct research on the health risks of eggs containing antibiotic and bacterial residues. This study used meta-analysis and a systematic review. The article search method employs PICO and snowballing techniques across three databases: Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and PubMed. The articles used are research articles conducted in Indonesia and published between 2012 and 2022. Articles were selected and analyzed as many as 18 articles. This study showed that the findings of bacteria in eggs in Indonesia were OR 0.67 (95% CI 0.52 – 0.88) with a pooled value of OR nial e0.69 = 1.95. Meanwhile, for the OR value of antibiotic residues was 0.28 (95% CI 0.20 – 0.39) with pooled OR e0.28 was 1.32. However, the two results of the study show that there is a bias in the article of the two variables. Consumption of eggs containing antibiotic residues and bacteria can cause various health impacts. In this study, it was found that some eggs in Indonesia contain antibiotic and bacterial residues. Eggs containing antibiotic residues and bacteria can be a threat to public health

Abstract

Urban areas face the dual challenges of food waste and household food insecurity. This community service activity aimed to reduce food waste and strengthen food security among low-income urban communities through a food rescue program implemented in KP Gembong RT 10, Surabaya, Indonesia. The activity involved three main stages: sorting of food items to ensure edibility and safety, packaging according to household needs, and direct distribution to beneficiaries. A total of 30 beneficiary families (household heads) received over 100 food packages containing dry food, beverages, snacks, powdered milk, and bakery products. Surplus food that remains fit for consumption is identified and diverted before becoming waste through a structured redistribution mechanism. The results indicate that this program effectively channels such food to vulnerable urban households, thereby reducing short-term household food expenditure and decreasing organic waste generation. The community-based approach enabled targeted and adaptive distribution, strengthening social solidarity between volunteers and residents. In conclusion, food rescue programs serve as a viable social intervention to bridge food surplus and deficit at the community level, contributing simultaneously to food security and environmental sustainability. However, structural food insecurity requires complementary long-term strategies.

Abstract

The Indeks Harga Saham Gabungan (IHSG) is widely recognized as a central indicator of the Indonesian capital market and reflects overall market performance, investor sentiment, and macroeconomic conditions. Accurate forecasting of the IHSG is essential for investors, financial institutions, and policymakers; however, financial time series data are often characterized by non-stationarity and volatility clustering, which limit the effectiveness of conventional forecasting models. This study applies a hybrid Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average–Autoregressive Conditional Heteroskedasticity (ARIMA–ARCH) model to forecast the IHSG by simultaneously modeling the conditional mean and time-varying volatility. The ARIMA model is used to capture linear temporal dependence in the mean process, while the ARCH component addresses heteroskedasticity in the residuals by allowing conditional variance to change over time. Daily IHSG closing price data from September 2024 to September 2025 are analyzed using the Box–Jenkins methodology, including stationarity analysis, model selection, parameter estimation, and diagnostic validation. The empirical results indicate that the hybrid ARIMA–ARCH model provides improved forecasting accuracy compared to a standalone ARIMA model, particularly in periods of heightened market volatility. The ARCH component successfully captures volatility clustering and enables the construction of dynamic volatility-based prediction intervals, offering additional risk-related insights beyond point forecasts. These findings demonstrate that the ARIMA–ARCH framework is effective for modeling IHSG dynamics and can support better risk management, portfolio optimization, and decision-making processes in the Indonesian capital market.
