Abstract

This research aims to analyze the communication strategies of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in dealing with the characteristics of Generation Z to improve the quality of teaching and learning activities (KBM) at MTs Hidayatus Subban Semarang. Generation Z has a tendency to learn quickly, visually, interactively, and is close to the digital world, so it requires teachers to implement more adaptive and interesting communication. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with observation techniques, in-depth interviews and documentation as the basis for data collection. The research results show that Islamic Religious Education teachers employ four main communication strategies. First, they use concise, clear, and relevant verbal language to enhance students' digital experiences, making the material easier to understand. Second, they utilize nonverbal communication such as expressions, eye contact, intonation, and gestures to reinforce moral messages and build rapport. Third, they integrate digital media such as videos, visual graphics, and supporting applications to attract interest and enhance understanding of religious concepts. Fourth, they apply a dialogic approach through discussions, questions and answers, and case analysis to enhance students' active participation and critical thinking skills. These findings conclude that adaptive, varied, and technology-based communication strategies can increase motivation, engagement, and the quality of teaching and learning in Generation Z students. The results of this study are expected to be a reference in developing Islamic Religious Education learning communication models in the digital era.

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has brought significant changes to the world of education, including Islamic education. This study aims to analyze the ethics of AI usage and its implications for Islamic education from the perspective of sharia values and the objectives of Islamic law (maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah). Using a library research approach, data were collected from academic literature, scientific articles, and relevant documents discussing AI, Islamic ethics, and education. The findings indicate that Islam conditionally supports technological advancement, including AI, as long as it aligns with key ethical principles such as justice, trustworthiness (amānah), responsibility, transparency, and privacy protection. AI is considered capable of enhancing the quality of religious learning through personalized content, automated instruction, and expanded access to education, particularly in remote areas. However, AI also poses a number of ethical challenges, including the potential distortion of religious understanding, the dehumanization of the teacher's role, algorithmic bias, and violations of moral and spiritual values. Therefore, a clear Islamic ethical framework is essential, along with the active involvement of scholars (‘ulamā’), increased digital literacy among educators, and the development of authentic Islamic content. With these foundations, AI can serve as a tool to support the holistic and ethical vision of Islamic education without compromising its core divine values.

Abstract

Islamic philanthropic instruments such as waqf face a profound paradox within the global capitalist system. While embodying ideals of substantive economic justice and community empowerment, in practice they often become subsumed by the dominant economic logic, limiting their transformative potential. This study aims to analyze the transformation of Islamic philanthropy models in Morocco, particularly the shift from traditional waqf to modern socio-economic instruments. Employing a qualitative library research approach with historical-institutionalist and case study perspectives, this research synthesizes academic literature, legal documents, and institutional reports to examine the characteristics of traditional waqf, the drivers of its transformation, and its implications for socio-economic development. The findings reveal that waqf transformation in Morocco is driven by the interplay of state intervention, economic modernization, and global philanthropic models, resulting in a transition toward productive and institutionalized waqf. However, this process is non-linear and marked by tensions between religious values, market logic, and governance structures. The study argues that waqf reform is not merely technical but constitutes a broader socio-institutional transformation requiring the integration of innovation with Sharia principles to ensure Islamic philanthropy remains both effective and ethically grounded in advancing sustainable socio-economic development in Morocco and comparable contexts

Abstract

Kata Kunci:Muballighah, Dakwah, Ormas Islam Permpuan, Kepemimpinan Perempuan [This study examines the leadership roles and participation of female preachers in Islamic da’wah and leadership through two of Indonesia's largest Muslim women's organizations, 'Aisyiyah (affiliated with Muhammadiyah) and Muslimat Nahdlatul Ulama (NU). The study aims to critically analyze how these organizations contribute to promoting moderate Islam and empowering Muslim women in modern society. Using a qualitative approach with comparative and exploratory techniques, the research draws on existing literature to highlight the significant roles of women in shaping societal values and nurturing the next generation of leaders. The findings reveal that women play integral roles in da’wah, both as active participants and supporters of their husbands' da’wah initiatives. Their contributions are essential in advancing da’wah activities and reinforcing Islamic teachings in contemporary contexts. Furthermore, the study emphasizes the importance of these organizations in addressing societal challenges, such as promoting moderation and empowering women amid shifting cultural and social dynamics. By bridging gaps in previous research, this study offers new insights into the leadership and contributions of women in da’wah, with both practical and academic implications for contemporary  Islamic preaching and community development. Abstract

The digital competence of Arabic language teacher in Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) in Sukoharjo remains low, particularly in developing interactive electronic student worksheets (E-LKPD). This study aims to test the effectiveness of AI-TPACK based training, integrating generative AI (ChatGPT and Teks To Speech) and Liveworksheets apps, in improving teacher competence. A quantitative approach with a quasi experimental one group design was employed. The sample consisted of 20 Arabic language teachers selected through purposive sampling from 11 different MTs. Data were collected using a validated questionnaire (Aiken’s V=0.87) and analyzed using Paired Sample T-Test and N-Gain scores. The results showed a significant increase across all competency variables (Sig. < 0.05), with an average N-Gain score of 0.59 (Moderately Effective). The highest increase occurred in AI-TPACK integration mastery (N-Gain = 0.76, Highly Effective). However, field implementation remains constrained by network infrascrtucture and device factors. These findings inply that the AI-TPACK training model is a strategic solution for developing teacher competence in the digital era.
