Abstract

This research is motivated by the low level of student concentration at MI Imam Puro, which is characterized by students being easily distracted and showing low participation during the learning process. This condition is also influenced by diverse student backgrounds, including those from boarding schools with high study loads. The purpose of this study is to describe classroom management, determine the level of learning concentration, and analyze the influence of classroom management on the learning concentration of 3rd-grade students at MI Imam Puro. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method and an ex-post facto design. The sample consisted of 20 students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using simple linear regression. The results showed that classroom management is in the moderate category (45%), while student concentration is in the high category (55%). The hypothesis test results show a significance value of 0.016 (< 0.05), indicating a positive and significant influence of classroom management on learning concentration. The coefficient of determination (R Square) is 0.281, which means classroom management contributes 28.1% to student concentration, while the remaining 71.9% is influenced by other factors. The regression equation formed is Y = 27.201 + 0.371 X. Thus, effective classroom management by teachers is a key factor in increasing students' focus and involvement in elementary school.

Abstract

Adolescent self-control is a critical developmental competency associated with academic achievement and positive social behavior. This study examines the effectiveness of group counseling with sociodrama technique in improving the self-control of Grade XI students at SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta. A quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group was employed. The experimental group (n = 33) participated in structured sociodrama-based group counseling sessions, while the control group (n = 38) received no structured intervention. Self-control was measured using a validated Likert-scale instrument based on Averill's three-dimensional model (behavioral, cognitive, and decisional control). Data were analyzed using paired-sample and independent-sample t-tests at  alpha = 0.05. Results demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in the experimental group (t(32) = 24.456, p < 0.001; mean gain = 11.97 points), compared to a negligible gain in the control group (mean gain = 1.39 points). The between-group comparison was also significant (t(69) = 4.050, p < 0.001). These findings confirm that sociodrama-based group counseling is an effective, engaging, and evidence-based strategy for developing adolescent self-regulation in school settings.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and test the feasibility of comics based on local wisdom and the Pancasila Student Profile on style material for fourth-grade students of SDN 2 Mranti Purworejo. The study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects of the study were fourth-grade students of the 2025/2026 academic year, consisting of 6 students in the limited trial and 18 students in the broad trial. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, questionnaires, and pretest and posttest tests. Data were analyzed using a four-point scale percentage to determine the level of feasibility and practicality, while effectiveness was analyzed using the N-Gain score. The results showed that the developed comic obtained a very high level of feasibility, with validation results from media experts of 95%, material experts 84%, and practitioners/teachers 100%. Student responses also showed a very practical category, namely 90% in the limited trial and 91% in the broad trial. The effectiveness test results obtained an N-Gain score of 78.13%, which is considered high. Thus, the comic based on local wisdom and the Pancasila Student Profile is declared highly feasible, practical, and effective for use as a learning resource for the science subject of style in fourth grade elementary school.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low learning outcomes and activeness of fourth-grade students in Science and Social Studies (IPAS) learning on the topic of time measurement at SD Negeri 21 Bengkulu Tengah. Based on the pre-cycle test results, only 8 of 27 students (30%) achieved the Learning Objective Achievement Criteria (KKTP), with a class average score of 65.78 and a student activeness level of only 45%. This condition was caused by teacher-centered instruction, a lack of problem-solving activities, and minimal active student engagement. This study aimed to improve student learning outcomes and activeness through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. The method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 27 fourth-grade students, comprising 11 boys and 16 girls. Data were collected through learning achievement tests, student activeness observation sheets, documentation, and field notes, then analyzed descriptively using quantitative and qualitative approaches. The results showed that the average learning outcome score increased from 65.78 in the pre-cycle to 72.44 in Cycle I and 87.96 in Cycle II, while the percentage of learning mastery increased from 30% to 63% in Cycle I and 93% in Cycle II. Student activeness also increased from 45% in the pre-cycle to 70% in Cycle I and 88% in Cycle II. It can be concluded that the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model effectively improved the learning outcomes and activeness of fourth-grade students in IPAS learning on time measurement material at SD Negeri 21 Bengkulu Tengah.
