Abstract

This comparative analysis explores the economic impacts of sustainable tourism on local communities in Bali and North Sumatra, Indonesia. The study highlights the significance of understanding the specific contexts of these regions and examines the economic benefits, challenges, and policy initiatives related to sustainable tourism development. The research methodology involved a comprehensive literature review and data analysis. The selection criteria for comparative analysis and the variables and indicators used were carefully considered to ensure a comprehensive examination of the economic impacts of sustainable tourism in Bali and North Sumatra. The findings reveal positive economic outcomes in both regions, including job creation, income generation, and support for local businesses. However, Bali exhibits a more significant economic impact with its more developed tourism industry than North Sumatra. This difference can be attributed to factors such as higher tourist influx and better tourism infrastructure in Bali. The comparative analysis also uncovers common challenges locals face in both regions, including infrastructure development, resource management, cultural preservation, community engagement, capacity building, marketing strategies, and equitable distribution of benefits. Addressing these challenges is essential for sustaining the economic benefits of sustainable tourism and ensuring the preservation of natural and cultural resources. In conclusion, this comparative analysis highlights the economic impacts of sustainable tourism in Bali and North Sumatra. It emphasizes the need to address challenges and implement effective policies to maximize economic benefits and ensure a more equitable distribution for local communities.

Abstract

This paper presents a research study investigating the effectiveness of Storynomics as a novel strategy for enhancing consumer engagement in the tourism industry during the digital era. Recognizing the influential role of stories in inspiring connections between travelers and destinations, the study also acknowledges the significance of technology in integrating storytelling into tourism. Storynomics, the proposed approach, combines the power of storytelling with digital technology to create captivating and immersive tourist experiences. A mixed-methods research approach was employed to explore the implementation and impact of Storynomics in the tourism industry. The research commenced with a comprehensive literature review, gathering theoretical foundations and existing knowledge on storytelling, technology, and consumer engagement in tourism. This review was the basis for developing a conceptual framework for Storynomics in tourism. Following the literature review, a series of practical case studies focused on successful Storynomics implementations by tourism companies. These case studies involved qualitative interviews with industry professionals, analysis of narrative content, and examination of social media platforms and interactive applications employed by these companies. The findings from the case studies were synthesized to provide valuable insights into the application of Storynomics in the tourism industry. The study highlights how the synergy between storytelling and digital technology can generate compelling and personalized experiences, drive consumer engagement, and contribute to broader marketing objectives and business growth.

Abstract

This research investigates the intricate relationship between monetary policy, transmission mechanisms, and economic growth in Indonesia using an empirical approach employing the Vector Autoregression (VAR) model. In the ever-evolving landscape of global economics, the role of monetary policy in promoting stability and growth is pivotal, especially for emerging economies like Indonesia. The study delves into the specific context of Indonesia, a country that has experienced periods of economic growth amid challenges such as fluctuating inflation rates, exchange rates, and external shocks. The research explores how the central bank, Bank Indonesia, employs monetary policy tools to navigate these challenges and assesses the impact of these policies on the nation's economic growth. Furthermore, it examines the transmission mechanisms propagating these effects, including interest rates, exchange rates, and bank lending. It also scrutinizes the presence of time lags, the magnitude and direction of these effects, and the influence of external factors. The findings of this study are expected to have significant implications for policymakers, central banks, investors, and the broader academic community. Understanding monetary policy dynamics in a globalized world marked by economic volatility is critical for making informed policy decisions.
