Abstract

South-East Asian Nutrition Survey (SEANUTS) merupakan multi-center study yang dilakukan di Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand dan Vietnam yang diprakarsai oleh FrieslandCampina Belanda tahun 2011 untuk mengetahui besaran masalah gizi utama di masing-masing negara. SEANUTS merupakan studi komprehensif gizi yang mengumpulkan data antropometri gizi (berat, tinggi badan, tinggi duduk, lapisan lemak bawah kulit, lingkaran lengan atas, lebar lengan tangan, siku, lutut), biokimia gizi (vitamin A, D, Hb, ferritin, DHA), iodium urine, perkembangan mental/ kognitif dan motorik, aktivitas fisik, kualitas tulang, konsumsi makanan, dan morbiditas. Tulisan ini menjelaskan desain umum SEANUTS. Desain SEANUTS adalah studi potong lintang (cross-sectional). Sampel adalah anak umur 0,5-12,9 tahun sebanyak 7211 anak yang dipilih dengan metode two-stage randomized cluster sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara, pengamatan, pengukuran, dan pemeriksaan sesuai dengan data yang dikumpulkan. Enumerator terlatih mengumpulkan data morbiditas, antropometri, aktivitas fisik, kualitas tulang, perkembangan mental dan kognisi, konsumsi makanan, urin. Pemeriksaan klinis oleh tenaga medis setempat, pengambilan darah oleh plebotomis. Tulisan-tulisan dalam nomor majalah ini berisi hasil deskriptif tentang besaran masalah gizi makro dan mikro di Indonesia, konsumsi makanan, aktivitas fisik, dan perkembangan mental, sedangkan tulisan ini menjelaskan desain umum SEANUTS

Abstract

The fast changes in the work world at present demands adoption and adaptation abilities for the new skill and capabilities of human resources at every level. The coming changes needs a strategy to improve the existing one and in anticipating the future needs. In relation to human resource improvement target, the role of particularly human resource manager, is very important. Through this role, the employee’s performance can be directed effectively and efficiently especially towards the company’s goal.  An organization will reach a certain level of performance if the organization can create work condition that motivate individuals in the organization, growing good condition of collaboration between individuals and groups as well as creating creativity and initiative.  The performance of employees at BPBPI based on the evaluation on employees’ level of education conducted by DP2K in 2008 were 73.82 (Good) for Elementary, 75.82 (Good) for Senior High School, 78.20 (Good) for Non degree and 79.57 (Good) for Strata One (S1) Degree.  The connection between level of education and employee’s performance at BPBPI shows a strong and positive relation based on coefficient correlation test result where the value of r was 0.708.  An organization will reach a certain performance if it can create good condition of cooperation between individuals and groups and allow creativity and initiative to grow.

Abstract

Syahdan Small Medium Enterprises (SME) map around the campus BINUS Syahdan Syahdan precisely along the streets and alleys that connect with it, ranging from Seven-Eleven to Circle K, which has become the backbone of student activities on campus so as to facilitate students in accessing the small business as well as media liaison for SMEs to communicate with the target market. The research was conducted referring to the science of Visual Communication Design Discipline. The purpose and benefits of this research is to use scientific and practical the SME Map of Jalan Syahdan and research results in the form of advice which are based on Cognitive Principle for ID member, Communication Principles for ID member, which is based on ease of implementation, the function of information for ID, which will tell us the effectiveness of media communications, and aesthetics. It is expected that the information in it will be delivered properly, can bring out the character right BINUS University and establish a positive image in the mind of the reader. In the results of this study will be presented the data and advice needed as a reference by them who will develop the SME Map of Jalan Syahdan.

Abstract

This review deals with several topics concerning natural factors affecting physical and mechanical properties of wood, i.e. (1) wood species; (2) age and location of growing; (3) position of wood sample in the stem; (4) diameter; (5) humidity, moisture content, and temperature; (5) weathering and fungi; (6) forest fired; that have been done by researchers who are members of Indonesian Wood Research Society.  The purposes of this review are (1) to evaluate the research results that have been done, (2) to promote the applicable and feasible utilization of research results to the users, (3) to provide information concerning previous researches that might be useful for further researches.More than 60 wood species have been reported in this review. Besides the major and minor commercial wood species; lesser known species, i.e. Balsa (Ochroma spp.), Randu (Ceiba pentandra Gaertn.), Merkubung (Macaranga sp.), Cengkeh (Eugenia aromatica L.), Afrika (Maesopsis eminii), Kisereh (Cinnamomum porrectum (Roxb) Kosterm), Kibawang (Melia excelsa Jack.), Pulai Konggo (Alstonia kongoensis Engl.), Sengon Buto (Enterolobium cyclocarpum Griserb.), Salamander (Grevillea robusta A.Cunn.), Kilemo (Litsea cubeba Pers.), Tahongai (Kleinhovia hospita Linn.), Sukun (Arthocarpus altilis), Arang (Diospyros borneensis), Berumbung (Adina minutifolia), Tisuk/Waru (Hibiscus macrophyllus), Urograndis (Eucalyptus urograndis), Kelapa (Cocos nucifera L.), Kelapa Sawit (Eleais guineensiis Jacq.), Laban (Vitex Pubescens Vahl.), Rambai (Baccaurea motleyana Muell.), Ki Sampang (Evodia latifolia DC.), Nangka (Artocarpus integra Merr.), Kalapi (Kalappia celebica), Gofasa (Vitex coffasus), Ketileng (Vitex glabrata), Cemara (Gymnostoma sp.), and Lamtoro (Leucaena glauca (Willd) Benth). have also been observed. The researches were generally done in relation to the utilization prospect of lesser known species, crops estate species, fast growing species, timber estate species, rural forest species, commercial species, for contruction/structural materials, handy-craft, musical instruments, or out-door exposures.Wood properties were interaction between specific gravity or density, moisture content, shrinkage and mechanical properties of wood. However, the values of those physical and mechanical properties in the papers could not directly compared to each other, because there were various testing standard and strength classification used. And unfortunately, researches on acoustic, thermal, electrical, creep, relaxation, and fatigue behaviour of Indonesian wood species were very rare or almost none.

Abstract

Development of the management of research and development (R&D) has experienced very rapid progress, especially in relation to win business opportunities at the global level. The evolution of R&D management at the global level now has up to the fifth-generation led to the sixth generation, which is characterized by the magnitude of dependence on the information and communication technology as well as the application of the principles of knowledge management in R&D activities. In order to know the development of R&D management in Indonesia, the study focused on the agricultural and estate crops sectors. The analysis is performed against several criteria of operational R&D Management, which are characterized by their respective R&D generation. Results of the study showed that the majority of the operational criteria of R&D management in agriculture and estate crops sectors in Indonesia mostly are still at the third generation. Challenges of R&D facing in agriculture and estate crops sectors in entering a higher R&D generation is increasing capacity of researchers to become more professional as well as a self-managing knowledge workers, focusing on the user or providing solutions for all user problems’, develop a broader job networking (network), an R&D organization that fosters continuous learning and transnational oriented by developing a more open communication and use ICT as an intelligent knowledge processors, as well as implement collaborative strategies in daily activities, and resulting patent/licences.

Abstract

THIS writing is based on the need to develop elementary school students speakingskill. Actually teachers don't make it a priority whereas it is one of the importantskills to be taught. Therefore a speaking skill leaning model is needed in order tooptimize the development of elementary students' potencies. Hence, Active StudentLearning is designed to evaluate the effectiveness of students' speaking skilllearning in elementary school. Quasi Experimental design was taken as the mainmethod of the research. 60 students of fifth grade of Tunas Unggul ElementarySchool were taken as a sample which constitutes 30 students in the experimentalclass and 30 students in the control class. Test, observation, and interview weretaken as the instruments. Descriptive analysis was used to analyze the observationand interview. Furthermore, T-test was taken to analyze students' test result. Theresult shows that the ASL model effectively improves students' speaking skill. Thecompetencies that students achieved are (1) pronouncing; (2) tone and pause;(3) diction; (4) content of speaking; (5) speaking fluency; (6) facial expressionand eye contact. The treatment of ASL which gives positive sides to help studentsimproving their speaking skills are (1) The ASL involves all aspects of mind,emotion, physical, and experiences, (2) The ASL is able to create multipleinteraction, (3) ASL optimizes teacher's role as the facilitator and the mediator,(4) The ASL improves student's creativity, (5) the serial pictures as learning mediagives the opportunity to the students in expressing themselves and theirexperiences. AbstrakPENELITIAN ini didasari oleh adanya kebutuhan untuk mengembangkan keterampilanberbicara pada siswa sekolah dasar. Kenyataan menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaranberbicara belum mendapat perhatian yang serius dari guru. Padahal, kemampuanberbicara sangatlah penting. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan model pembelajaran yangdapat mengembangkan potensi siswa sekolah dasar dalam keterampilan berbicarasecara optimal. Dalam konteks inilah peneliti merancang penelitian tentang modelPembelajaran Siswa Aktif (PSA) yang bertujuan untuk menguji keefektifan modelPSA dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian initermasuk penelitian kuasi-eksperimen. Subjek penelitiannya adalah murid kelas VSekolah Dasar Tunas Unggul dengan sampel 60 orang yang terdiri atas 30 murid dikelas eksperimen dan 30 orang di kelas kontrol. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes,pengamatan, dan wawancara. Analisis data pengamatan dan wawancara menggunakanteknik deskriptif analisis, sedangkan analisis data tes menggunakan teknik analisisstatistik uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model PSA efektif meningkatkanketerampilan berbicara murid. Kompetensi yang dicapai murid setelah mengikuti modelPSA berupa keterampilan: (1) mengucapkan ujaran; (2) menggunakan nada dan jeda;(3) memilih diksi dan menggunakan kalimat; (4) memahami isi pembicaraan; (5)berbicara lancar; dan (6) mengekspresikan mimik dan kontak mata. Selain kompetensikebahasaan, model PSA memiliki keunggulan sebagai berikut: (1) mampu melibatkanseluruh aspek pikiran, emosi, fisik, dan pengalaman murid, (2) dapat menciptakaninteraksi multiarah dalam pembelajaran, (3) dapat mengoptimalkan peran guru sebagaifasilitator dan mediator dalam pembelajaran, (4) dapat menumbuhkan kreativitas murid,serta (5) dapat memberikan peluang kepada murid untuk mengekspresikan diri danpengalamannya secara optimal (dengan menggunakan gambar berseri sebagai mediapembelajaran).

Abstract

Indonesia kaya dengan SDA (Sumber Daya alam) bijih  nikel oksida yang  lazim disebut  laterit. Laterit berkadar nikel tinggi saprolit (Ni>1,8%) sudah diolah dengan jalur proses pirometalurgi di Sulawesi Tenggara untuk memproduksi ferro nikel (FeNi) oleh PT Aneka Tambang di Pomalaa, atau untuk memproduksi Ni-matte oleh Vale INCO di Soroako. Laterit berkadar nikel rendah yang terdiri dari limonit dan saprolit dengan Ni<1,8 %, belum diolah di tanah air. Untuk  mengolahnya digunakan proses Caron atau proses HPAL/PAL (HighPressure Acid Leaching). Dimana kedua proses tersebut termasuk jalur proses hidrometalurgi. Pemerintah telah memberi ijin kepada pihak asing untuk mengolah laterit kadar rendah pulau Gag Papua dengan proses Caron pada PT Pasific Nickel USA pada tahun 1967 (menjelang awal Orde Baru). Akibat harga minyak dunia yang naik secara dramatis setelah 1973, maka PT Pasific Nickel membatalkan rencananya dan mengembalikan ijin ke pemerintah. Ijin juga diberikan pada dua PMA (Penanaman Modal Asing) pada Januari 1998 (menjelang akhir Orde Baru) untuk mengolah laterit kadar rendah dengan proses HPAL/PAL, yaitu PT BHP Australia untuk mengo lah laterit pulau Gag Papua, dan PT Weda Bay Nickel (WBN) Canada untuk mengo lah laterit teluk Weda Halmahera.  Dalam perjalanan waktu PT WBN Canada dimiliki Eramet Perancis sejak Mei 2006, dan sampai saat ini (2011) tidak ada kepastian kapan PT WBN Eramet Perancis merealisasikan proyeknya. Sedangkan PT BHP Australia mengembalikan ijin pulau Gag ke pemerintah pada awal tahun 2009. Kenyataan mundurnya tiga (3) PMA dari Indonesia untuk mengo lah laterit kadar rendah dengan jalur proses hidrometalurgi. Bisa menjadi peluang bagi pemerintah untuk menguasai sebagian teknologi yang akan digunakan oleh pihak asing untuk mengolah  laterit  kadar  rendah.  Penguasaan  teknologi tersebut  diperoleh  dari aktifitas  penelitian,  dan  hasil penelitian dipatenkan. Dengan demikian diharapkan pemerintah bisa punya posisi tawar untuk meningkatkan kepemilikan saham dengan pihak asing. Apabila di kemudian hari ada pihak asing yang berminat mengolah laterit pulau Gag Papua dan wilayah lain di Kawasan Timur Indonesia. Atas dasar penjelasan diatas maka dibuat tulisan ini AbstractThe low grade laterite (limonite and saprolite with Ni < 1.8 %) has not yet processed in Indonesia. It uses process hydrometallurgy. The government of Indonesia has been give permission to foreign company to process the low grade laterite with hydrometallurgy (Caron process and HPAL process). Process Caron is used to process laterite Gag island Papua for PT Pasific Nickel USA on 1967. The dramatical increase price of fuel oil after 1973, it become PT Pasific Nickel give up plan and it give back the permission to the government. Process HPAL (High Pressure Acid Leaching) are used to process laterite teluk Weda (Weda Bay) Halmahera for PT Weda Bay Nickel (WBN) Canada and Gag island Papua for BHP Australia. Two companies got the permission on last new era on January 1998. The permission of Gag island Papua is returned by BHP Australia on first year 2009 and the uncertainity when PT WBN Eramet France (PT WBN Canada takes over by Eramet on May 2006) to build HPAL plant. It becomes opportunity to control the part of technology to process the low laterite via research. So the government has bargaining position to increase share at foreign company.

Abstract

 Indonesia memiliki cadangan nikel pada peringkat dua dunia. Cadangan tersebut berupa bijih nikel oksida yang  lazim disebut  laterit, berada di Kawasan Timur Indonesia (KTI) terutama di Sulawesi Tenggara dan Halmahera. Adapun laterit terdiri dari limonit berkadar Ni<1,5 % dan saprolit berkadar Ni>1,5 %. Laterit kadar tinggi saprolit berkadar   Ni>1,8 % sudah diolah di Sulawesi Tenggara dengan jalur pyrometalurgi oleh PT Antam (Aneka Tambang) untuk memproduksi FeNi (ferro nikel) di Pomalaa, dan PT INCO Canada untuk memproduksi nikel mattte (Ni-matte) di Soroako. Laterit kadar rendah yang terdiri dari limonit dan saprolit dengan kandungan Ni<1,8 %, belum diolah di dalam negeri. Secara komersial untuk mengolah laterit kadar rendah digunakan proses Caron yang pertama kali dibangun di Nicaro Cuba oleh Freeport USA pada tahun 1942. Atau proses HPAL (High Pressure Acid Leaching) juga pertama kali dibangun di Moa Bay Cuba oleh Freeport USA pada tahun 1959. Kedua proses tersebut tergolong dalam jalur hydrometalurgi, dan pemilihan proses tergantung  dari  kondisi  bijih  terutama  pada  kandungan  Mg  (magnesium).  Laterit  kadar  rendah  dengan kandungan Mg (magnesium) rendah (Mg < 6 % atau MgO < 10 %) lebih sesuai untuk diolah dengan proses HPAL, dan magnesium tinggi (Mg > 6 % atau MgO > 10 %) diolah dengan proses Caron. Dalam perkembangannya setelah tahun 1990-an, proses Caron mulai ditinggalkan karena mengkonsumsi energi tinggi dengan perolehan yang rendah untuk nikel (Ni : 70 – 80 %) maupun kobal (Co maks 50 %). Selanjutnya beralih ke proses HPAL karena proses ini mengkonsumsi energi rendah dengan perolehan tinggi untuk nikel (Ni > 90%) maupun kobal (Co > 90 %). Dengan melihat kenyataan kegagalan tiga HPAL plant generasi kedua di Australia (Bulong tutup 2003, Cawse tutup 2008, dan Murrin Murrin berpindah kepemilikan ke Minara pada 2003/2004 dan beralih ke heap leach tahun 2007). Serta masih berlangsungnya Caron plant di Cuba (Nicaro dan Punta Gorda), Queensland Nickel di Yabulu Australia, dan Tocantin Brasilia. Maka proses Caron masih punya peluang untuk mengolah laterit kadar rendah di Indonesia. Peluang tersebut semakin terbuka apabila perolehan metal (recovery Ni dan Co) pada proses Caron bisa ditingkatkan setara dengan perolehan metal (recovery Ni dan Co) pada proses HPAL, dan ekonomis konsumsi energinya. AbstractIndonesia had the resources of nickel at the second in the world. The resources are nickel oxide which said laterite. The abundant of laterite locate at Sulawesi Tenggara (South-East Sulawesi) and Halmahera. There are two main mineral in laterite, limonit contains Ni<1,5% and saprolit contains Ni>1,5%. The high grade nickel saprolit contains Ni>1,8% has been processed in Sulawesi Tenggara to produce FeNi (ferro nickel) in Pomalaa by PT Antam, and to produce Ni-matte (nickel matte) in Sorowako by PT INCO Canada. The low grade laterite (limonit and saprolit contains Ni<1,8%) not yet processed in Indonesia. To process the low grade laterite are used Caron’s process or HPAL’s process (High Pressure Acid Leaching). The condition of laterite’s ores are used to choice the process. The Caron’s process is remained after 1990’s because it consume high energy with low metal recovery (Ni : 70 – 80 % Co max 50 %). The choice to process low gradelaterite is HPAL because it consume low energy wiyh high recovery of metal (Ni > 90 % and Co > 90 %). The fact three HPAL plant in Australia unsuccessful (Bulong closed on 2003, Cawse closed on 2008, and Murrin Murrin taked over by Minara and change to heap leach on 2007) and the Caron plant still exist in Cuba (Nicaro and Punta Gorda), Queensland Nickel di Australia, and Tocantin Brasilia. Then Caron’s process still have opportunity to process the low grade laterite in Indonesia if the recovery of metal can be increase as same as HPAL and the consume of energy can be decreased.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti strategi penerjemahan pada subtitle film ContraBand. Objek penelitian itu sendiri adalah subtitle film ContraBand yang berbahasa Inggris dan diterjemahkan ke dalam bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis isi. Temuan penelitian ini berupa kesepadanan di antaar BSu dan BSa, sebelas strategi penerjemahan dan beberapa penyimpangan dalam penerjemahan. Strategi literal merupakan strategi yang paling sering digunakan sebanyak 33 % dari keseluruhan data dan strategi peminjaman merupakan tingkat penggunaan paling rendah sebanyak 0.08% dari keseluruhan data. Adapun beberapa strategi lainnya yang gunakan adalah compensation, paraphrase, word to word, borrowing, calque, free translation, addition, shift translation, omission, dan compression translation, sedangkan jenis kesepadanan yang ditemukan adalah (1) kesepadanan di tingkat kata;(2) kesepadanan di atas kata; dan (3) kesepadanan gramatika.  Kata Kunci: strategi penerjemahan, kesepadanan, penyimpangan dalam penerjemahan, subtitle.

Abstract

ABSTRAKSalah satu fungsi perguruan tinggi yang tercermin dalam Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi (Pendidikan dan Pengajaran, Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat) dimaksudkan untuk menghasilkan produk ilmiah yang dilakukan melalui penelitian hukum. Produk ilmiah tersebut bervariasi menurut bobotnya, mulai dari yang sangat sederhana sampai yang berbobot tinggi, apakah dihasilkan oleh mahasiswa atau dosen sebagai peneliti dan menurut forum di mana produk tersebut dikomunikasikan atau dipublikasikan. Penentuan tinggi rendahnya nilai bobot suatu karya ilmiah ditentukan pula oleh kriteria masing-masing jenjang pendidikan tinggi (S-1, S-2 dan S-3) oleh nilai kegunaan pada masyarakat maupun oleh peranannya dalam pengembangan suatu disiplin ilmu tertentu. Pertanyaan yang kemudian lahir yaitu bagaimana sistem penulisan pustaka pada sebuah karya tulis ilmiah dalam pembuatan tugas akhir mahasiswa maupun dalam suatu penelitian hukum? Penulisan tersebut haruslah merujuk pada satu sistem penulisan yang baik dan benar serta diakui secara nasional dan internasional.Kata kunci: Sistem Penulisan, Penulisan Pustaka, Metode Penulisan.ABSTRACTOne function of universities is reflected in the Tri Dharma University (Education and Teaching, Research and Community Service) intended to produce scientific products those effected through of legal research. The scientific products greatly varies according to weight, ranging from the very simple to the higher weight, whether produced by University student or Lecturer as a researcher and according to the forum in which the product is communicated or published. Determination of the intensity of the weight of a scientific work is also determined by the criteria of their respective higher education degrees (S-1, S-2 and S-3) by value and usefulness to society by its role in the development of a particular discipline. The question then is born that is how the sistem of writing literature in a scientific paper in the manufacture of final project or in a of legal research? The writing should be referred to a sistem of writing that is good and true and recognized nationally and internationally.Keywords: Writing Sistem, Library Writing, Writing Methods.
