Abstract

In the hospitality industry, hotel information systems are predominantly operated in English, presenting linguistic challenges for staff with limited proficiency in English. This study aims to analyze the English comprehension ability of employees at Hotel Griya Sintesa Muara Enim, with a particular focus on their understanding of English-based hotel information systems. Using a quantitative descriptive approach, data were collected through a written vocabulary test (comprising 20 multiple-choice and matching items), semi-structured interviews, and documentation from 30 front-office and operational staff members. Descriptive statistical analysis revealed an average correct-response rate of 69.2% (mean score = 70.5), placing overall comprehension in the “Paham” (Understand) category. While most employees could operate the system functionally, difficulties persisted with technical terms such as PMS, interface, database error, and backup file. Key contributing factors include limited prior English training, infrequent exposure to technical vocabulary, and reliance on peer assistance. The findings suggest that staff's functional English proficiency is sufficient for daily operations but requires targeted support to enhance accuracy and confidence. Recommendations include implementing English for Hospitality Systems training, developing an in-house English terminology glossary, and establishing an internal mentoring program. This study underscores the importance of integrating language support into hospitality technology adoption to ensure operational efficiency and service quality.

Abstract

Conventional auctions still face a number of challenges, such as limited access, unclear processes, and low time efficiency. Auction participants are generally required to be physically present, which limits the number of participants and reduces transparency and transaction speed. Based on this background, this study aims to develop HypeBid, a web- and mobile-based marketplace information system that supports online and real-time auction processes. This system is built using a client-server architecture with React Native, Express.js, PostgreSQL, and Supabase technologies. Development was carried out through stages of needs analysis, system design, and implementation of key features such as user registration, product verification, live bidding, integrated payment systems, and transaction reports. System testing was conducted using the black box testing method involving two groups of users, namely buyers and auction officers. The test results showed that all features functioned as expected, without any functional errors. Thus, HypeBid is considered to be a clearer, more flexible, and efficient alternative solution compared to conventional auction methods.

Abstract

This study systematically reviewed recent developments in the use of information systems and digital technologies for detecting and reducing greenwashing in corporate sustainability reporting during the period of 2024–2025. Using a systematic literature review approach based on established guidelines, this study examined forty-five peer-reviewed journal articles published between January 2024 and September 2025. The findings showed that information systems had progressed from basic data management tools into integrated digital ecosystems that employed artificial intelligence, natural language processing, blockchain, and environmental, social, and governance analytics to identify misleading sustainability disclosures. The review revealed four major themes, namely digital transparency and data integrity, technology-driven detection and predictive analysis, governance and ethical structures, and sector-specific reporting practices. Although meaningful advancements had been achieved, several challenges persisted, particularly the absence of standardized digital verification models and limited accountability in algorithm-based assessments. This study contributed to theoretical and practical discussions by mapping how information-system-based models strengthened the credibility of sustainability reporting and by outlining future research directions to improve greenwashing detection mechanisms.

Abstract

A 6-month simulation of a community-based health information system in a rural area involving 500 participants (health workers, volunteers, community) demonstrated the potential for improved access to health services through technology collaboration and local participation. Active participation reached 80%, with a 20% decrease in infectious disease cases and a 35% increase in pregnant women's participation in ANC programs. The hybrid system (SMS gateway and web application) effectively overcame infrastructure limitations, although 30% of areas still experienced network constraints. Technology resistance in the elderly (15%) and interface complexity (30%) highlighted the need for inclusive design. participant feedback (85%) positive) emphasized the importance of educational and emergency features. This simulation confirmed that the success of CBHIS depends on multisectoral partnerships, continuous training, and policy adaptation. The study recommends integration of the system with government programs and long-term evaluation to ensure sustainability. The findings contribute to the literature on digital health innovations in remote areas, in line with WHO recommendations (2021) and studies on technological inclusion (Brown & Lee, 2021).
