Abstract

Radio media still play an important role as a source of public information, especially in conveying real-time traffic conditions. However, in today's digital era, the question arises as to how relevant the traffic congestion information conveyed by radio still is to the public. This study refers to the uses and gratifications theory, which emphasises that audiences choose media based on their ability to meet information needs. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method of 300 respondents, namely private vehicle users in Surabaya and its surroundings. The analysis focuses on the dimensions of accuracy, relevance, novelty of information, and listener loyalty. The results show that accurate, relevant, and up-to-date information about traffic conditions has a significant effect on continued listening. In addition, social interaction through the "Listener Reports" programme also strengthens audience loyalty to Radio Suara Surabaya. These findings confirm that radio remains relevant in meeting the information needs of the public in the digital age, especially in the context of traffic information.

Abstract

Information warfare has become a vital area in modern geopolitical battles because language functions as both a combat tool and a defensive mechanism. The research investigates NATO's development of epistemic authority in counter-disinformation discourse through Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL) analysis. The study analyzes NATO's "De-bunking Russian disinformation on NATO" webpage to identify linguistic methods that affect thematic structure and ideational, interpersonal, and textual metafunctions. The thematic analysis showed NATO stands as a central theme throughout multiple clauses, which confirms its essential role in the text. The research used strategic deployment of Marked Themes to create historical frameworks through temporal markers and to perform acknowledge-then-refute moves through concessive markers and to emphasize evaluation through manner markers. The research findings demonstrate how SFL applies to counter-disinformation discourse while showing thematic analysis effectiveness and revealing how integrated metafunctional analysis reveals collaborative meaning creation processes. The research study shows how NATO uses four main strategies, which include empirical evidence, confident statements, systematic counterarguments, and strategic thematic emphasis. The thematic progression followed three patterns, which included maintaining constant theme focus and linear argument development, and derived progression for maintaining textual coherence. The research demonstrates that grammatical selection methods establish epistemic authority through consistent patterns that appear throughout different metafunctional layers. The research establishes a complete framework that enables researchers to conduct future counter-disinformation studies in various institutional settings.

Abstract

Management of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in Indonesia continues to face challenges due to behavioral, informational, and technological gaps among patients. This study analyzed the influence of self-regulatory competence and information, motivation, family support, and digital health literacy on glycemic control behavior. A cross-sectional survey was conducted from February to April 2025 among 587 adults aged >30 years with T2DM enrolled in the Chronic Disease Management Program at primary health care in six major cities: Jakarta, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, Medan, Makassar, and Banjarmasin. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling. The findings revealed that motivation, followed by information and family support, exerted the strongest effect on self-regulatory competence. Self-regulatory competence significantly predicted glycemic control behavior, whereas digital health literacy directly improved behavior and strengthened the effect of self-regulatory competence. These results suggested that behavioral competence and digital engagement were mutually reinforcing capacities essential for the self-management of chronic diseases. This study extends the Information–Motivation–Behavioral Skills model by incorporating digital and social dimensions, offering a contextually grounded framework for strengthening diabetes care in Indonesia’s urban health system.

Abstract

In the digital era, Islamic education faces both opportunities and challenges in fostering Akhlaqul Karimah (noble character) among elementary students. The increasing exposure to digital content necessitates a strategic integration of information technology (IT) to reinforce moral and spiritual development. This conceptual review aims to examine the current practices of IT integration in Islamic character education, identify associated challenges and opportunities, and propose a conceptual framework to guide future practice. Using a qualitative conceptual review design, this study analyzed 20 peer-reviewed journal articles and scholarly books published within the last decade. Data were collected using a literature review matrix and analyzed through data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing, following the model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The results indicate that digital tools such as mobile applications, digital storytelling, Islamic multimedia, and e-books are widely utilized to support character education. These tools enhance engagement and provide innovative moral learning experiences. However, challenges such as limited digital literacy among teachers and insufficient infrastructure remain significant barriers. Despite this, the integration of IT offers promising opportunities to personalize learning, expand access to Islamic content, and gamify moral instruction. This study proposes a conceptual framework that bridges Islamic pedagogy with digital innovation, highlighting the pivotal role of educators in guiding ethical technology use. The findings provide theoretical insights and practical directions for curriculum designers, educators, and policymakers seeking to align digital transformation with Islamic moral values.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of information technology has significantly influenced various aspects of education, including Islamic Religious Education (PAI). This study investigates the impact of information technology usage on students' learning outcomes in PAI through a systematic literature review. Relevant academic sources from reputable databases were analyzed to identify common themes and gaps in existing research. The findings indicate that integrating information technology into PAI instruction enhances teaching strategies, student engagement, and academic performance. Digital tools such as online platforms, interactive applications, and video conferencing facilitate flexible and accessible learning, fostering active student participation. Additionally, structured assessment methods and independent learning play crucial roles in improving students' comprehension and retention of PAI materials. Despite these advantages, challenges such as technological accessibility, teacher competence, and digital literacy persist. Addressing these challenges requires strategic policies and targeted teacher training programs to maximize the effectiveness of information technology in PAI education. Future research should explore practical solutions to overcome these barriers and further optimize digital learning strategies in religious education.
