Abstract

Health literacy plays an essential role in effective self-management of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). There is insufficient research in the qualitative literature on health information processing among Indonesian urban populations seeking primary healthcare. This exploratory phenomenological study aimed to explore the lived experience of seven adults with T2DM in Bandung, Indonesia, in relation to health information processing and barriers to understanding. The data were collectedvia in-depth interviews (December 2025-January 2026) and analyzed using reflexive thematic analysis. Considering the sample size of seven individuals purposefully selected, the results can be considered preliminary and non-generalizable. Four main themes arose from the analysis: (1) varied sources of health information and variable abilities to evaluate health information sources; (2) comprehension barriers due to technical medical language without sufficient context; (3) barriers to patient-health worker communication because of structural, linguistic, and cultural factors; and (4) various influences of digital media and peer socialization on health behavior. It was identified that health literacy is a continuum process, which depends not only on personal characteristics of patients but also on the communicative setting of medical consultations. Recommended actions for addressing the problem include health workers’ training on patient-centered communication (e.g., teach-back technique), development of online resources

Abstract

The increasing use of social media in micro-enterprise activities has expanded access to business information while simultaneously creating digital information overload that may affect the quality of financial decision-making. This study aims to examine the effect of digital information overload on the financial performance efficiency of micro-entrepreneurs. A mixed-method approach with an explanatory sequential design was employed, involving 100 respondents for quantitative analysis using a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire and 10 informants for in-depth interviews conducted in 2025. Quantitative data were analyzed using simple linear regression, while qualitative data were examined through thematic analysis to enrich the interpretation of statistical findings. The results indicate that digital information overload significantly influences financial performance efficiency, particularly through information intensity, complexity, and processing difficulties that affect decision accuracy and cost management. This study contributes to the understanding of financial decision-making behavior in the digital era and provides practical implications for micro-entrepreneurs to manage information flows more selectively and strategically in order to enhance financial performance.

Abstract

This study examines the role of information technology (IT) in improving the performance of rural enterprises, with a specific focus on Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) in Banten Province, Indonesia. While digital transformation has reshaped business practices, many rural enterprises continue to rely on manual systems, limiting efficiency, transparency, and competitiveness. This study adopts a qualitative narrative literature review approach to synthesize existing knowledge on IT adoption and organizational performance in rural enterprise contexts. The review draws on approximately 30–40 academic sources published between 2014 and 2026, including peer-reviewed journal articles, books, and institutional reports retrieved from databases such as Google Scholar, Scopus, and SINTA. Data were analyzed using content and thematic analysis to identify recurring patterns and conceptual relationships. The review identifies four dominant themes linking IT adoption to rural enterprise performance: operational efficiency, data-informed decision-making, financial transparency, and business competitiveness. Rather than providing direct empirical evidence, this study integrates prior findings to develop a conceptual framework that explains how IT contributes to performance improvement under varying levels of digital readiness. The study contributes by offering a synthesized and integrative perspective on IT adoption in rural enterprises and by proposing a framework that highlights the roles of digital literacy, infrastructure readiness, and institutional support as enabling conditions. However, as a literature-based review, this study does not establish causal relationships and should be interpreted as a conceptual foundation that requires further empirical validation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze asymmetric information and non-performing loans in the Micro Community Business Credit program at Indonesian Bank. This study contributes to the understanding of how information imbalance, moral hazard, side streaming, credit appraisal, field monitoring, and managerial leadership interact in microcredit risk management. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The informants were selected purposively. The study also examined internal credit development data from July to December 2024. The findings show that non-performing loans are caused by internal bank limitations, customer-related factors, and external economic pressures. The study implies that strengthening post-disbursement monitoring, customer financial education, relational supervision, and adaptive leadership is essential to reduce credit risk.

Abstract

Adolescent reproductive health problems remain a global and national concern, particularly in relation to access to and utilization of reproductive health information. Inadequate utilization of reproductive health information among adolescents may contribute to risky sexual behaviors, early marriage, sexually transmitted infections, and unintended pregnancies. This study aimed to analyze the factors associated with the utilization of reproductive health information among adolescents in Siak District, Siak Regency, Riau Province, in 2024. This study employed an analytic observational design with a cross-sectional approach. The study population consisted of adolescents aged 15–19 years, and samples were selected using proportional random sampling techniques. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using univariate analysis, bivariate analysis with the Chi-square test, and multivariate logistic regression analysis. The results indicated that knowledge, attitudes, access to information media, peer support, parental roles, and support from health workers were significantly associated with the utilization of reproductive health information (p < 0.05). Access to information media was identified as the most dominant factor influencing the utilization of reproductive health information among adolescents. Strengthening adolescent-friendly information services, enhancing family support, and implementing digital health literacy interventions are recommended to improve adolescents’ utilization of reproductive health information.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of a purchasing accounting information system to improve the efficiency of the inventory procurement process. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with CV. Ekatunggal Timur Manado as the object. Data was obtained through observation, semi-structured interviews with the purchasing, warehouse, and accounting departments. Data were then analyzed using a descriptive approach, internal control checklist, and efficiency indicators. The results show that the system has been running with the support of ERP and fairly structured procedures. However, the system is not optimal due to the lack of clear separation of duties, lack of system integration, and communication constraints between divisions. In addition, delays from suppliers also impact inventory imbalances such as overstock and stockouts. The results of this study indicate that the effectiveness of the purchasing accounting information system is greatly influenced by the quality of internal control and system integration. Therefore, the company needs to strengthen the separation of duties, improve ERP integration, and improve coordination between divisions to improve procurement efficiency. This study offers a more focused analysis of the relationship between the purchasing accounting information system, internal control, and procurement efficiency in the context of a distribution company.
