Abstract

This study aims to design a strategic information system plan to support digital learning implementation at SMP Islam Darussalam using the Ward and Peppard approach. The current implementation of e-learning at SMP Islam Darussalam is not yet optimal due to the absence of a well-defined strategic plan, resulting in misalignment between systems and user needs. Previous studies on IS/IT strategic planning have mainly focused on universities and business organizations, while limited research discusses its implementation in Islamic junior high schools. This study employs a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The analysis applies the Ward and Peppard framework, supported by SWOT, Value Chain, PEST, Porter’s Five Forces, and McFarlan Strategic Grid analyses. The results show that the approach effectively identifies organizational needs and formulates IS/IT strategies aligned with institutional goals. The study produces recommendations in the form of an application portfolio and development roadmap focusing on a Learning Management System (LMS), an online examination system, and a student performance analysis system to support sustainable digital learning implementation.

Abstract

Background: Along with the rapid development of information technology and digitalization, organizations increasingly rely on personal data to support business operations. This reliance also increases the potential risk of data leakage, misuse, and complex cyber-attacks, prompting the Indonesian government to enact Law No. 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection (PDP Law). PT XYZ, as a consulting company, faces serious challenges in implementing this regulation, ranging from the vulnerability of information technology infrastructure, the absence of appropriate internal policies, to the low understanding of human resources on data protection practices. Objective: This research aims to develop internal policies related to personal data management in accordance with the data protection principles of the PDP Law, as well as identify and analyze information technology security risks to formulate mitigation strategies using the ISO 31000:2018 approach Methods: The methodology used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques through document studies, surveys of employees from various divisions, and direct observation of the current information technology security infrastructure and procedures Results: The results showed that the company did not have a systematic risk management, the security system still had many gaps such as not using layered authentication or a comprehensive encryption system, and more than half of the employees did not understand the basic principles of the PDP Law Conclusion: Based on these findings, a mitigation strategy was developed in the form of internal policies governing personal data governance, strengthening IT security systems through encryption technology and role-based access control, and regular training to increase employee awareness. The implementation of this strategy is expected to improve compliance with the PDP Law, avoid administrative sanctions up to a fine of 2% of revenue, and build public trust through safe and reliable personal data management.

Abstract

In the era of information abundance, students frequently encounter “cognitive disruptions” or logical fallacies when synthesizing scientific conclusions. This challenge is particularly pronounced within the Madrasah educational environment, where a critical need exists to bridge traditional verification values with contemporary data literacy. This study evaluates the effectiveness of synergizing data literacy and logical reasoning as a foundational framework for STEM education at Madrasah As’adiyah Pompanua, aiming to enhance students’ cognitive capacity in formulating valid scientific arguments. Employing a quantitative quasi-experimental design, this research involved two student cohorts. Data were collected through assessments of data literacy and the Test of Logical Thinking (TOLT), then analyzed using descriptive statistics, ANCOVA, and Normalized Gain (N-Gain) analysis. The findings demonstrate that integrating data literacy and logical reasoning significantly improves STEM educational outcomes. The experimental group attained a mean score of 81.30, substantially outperforming the control group’s 62.55. Data literacy was found to sharpen cognitive acuity by establishing an empirical foundation that minimizes logical gaps. The model’s high efficacy is evidenced by an N-Gain value of 0.71, signifying a pedagogical shift from passive knowledge acquisition to critical analysis. This research contributes to the evolution of STEM models in Islamic educational settings by demonstrating that indigenous values, such as the principle of verification (tabayyun), serve as potent catalysts for adopting data literacy. Practically, this study provides a strategic framework for educators to implement evidence-based learning, ensuring students possess the essential analytical competencies required to navigate the complexities of the digital age.

Abstract

Disaster communication is a critical component of emergency governance, particularly in countries with high exposure to earthquakes, floods, volcanic eruptions, landslides, and tsunamis. In Indonesia, the complexity of disaster management is not limited to emergency response and victim assistance, but also includes the accuracy, consistency, and credibility of public information. This study examines the effectiveness of a one-voice disaster press conference policy in Indonesia, with particular attention to the role of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) as an authoritative communication actor. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the study draws on observation, interviews, and documentation related to BNPB’s disaster communication practices. Informants include BNPB officials, public relations staff, a media observer, and members of the public. The analysis is guided by four indicators of policy effectiveness: target accuracy, programme socialisation, programme objectives, and programme monitoring. The findings indicate that a one-voice press conference mechanism is essential to reduce misinformation, strengthen public trust, improve coordination between institutions, and ensure that disaster-related information is delivered in a timely, factual, and educational manner. However, the study also identifies several challenges, including fragmented institutional authority, inconsistent media coverage, the rapid circulation of hoaxes on social media, limited public understanding of disaster causes, and the absence of a specific regulatory framework governing one-door disaster press conferences. The article argues that disaster communication in Indonesia requires a more institutionalised, digitally integrated, and legally supported communication model. Such a model should combine official spokesperson authority, media coordination, social media responsiveness, public education, and post-disaster monitoring.

Abstract

Attendance and payroll management remain among the most critical operational functions in any organization, irrespective of size or industry sector. Persistent inefficiencies in these processes — arising from manual data entry, paper-based recording, or the use of disconnected software tools — often translate into direct financial losses, reduced employee morale, and exposure to regulatory non-compliance. This study reports on the design and implementation of a desktop-based Employee Attendance and Payroll Information System (EAPIS) intended to automate these processes for small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs). Development followed the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) under the Waterfall model, structured into five sequential stages: requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The application was built using Visual Basic .NET (VB.NET) as the programming language, with Microsoft SQL Server 2019 serving as the relational database management system. Core modules cover employee data management, daily attendance recording, automated salary computation, and report generation. System evaluation paired black-box functional testing with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) involving ten respondents. The result: a 100% functional test pass rate and an average UAT satisfaction score of 4.58 out of 5.0 — figures that support the system's reliability, accuracy, and ease of use. These findings suggest that desktop-based information systems remain a workable, cost-efficient option for organizations seeking to modernize human resource operations without the overhead of a full enterprise resource planning (ERP) deployment.

Abstract

Digital health transformation requires accurate, complete, and standardized data to support information-based pharmaceutical management. The National Drug Master Data serves as a primary reference to maintain consistent drug information across pharmaceutical information systems. This study aimed to analyze the characteristics of the National Drug Master Data in supporting pharmaceutical information systems in Indonesia during 2020–2025. A quantitative descriptive design was applied using secondary data obtained from the E-Logistics Data Bank of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. A total of 470 drug records were analyzed using descriptive statistics based on object categories, administrative status, data creator organizations, update patterns, and attribute completeness. The results showed that 89.57% of records were categorized as Approved, with drug objects representing the largest proportion (70.43%). Primary identification attributes achieved 100% completeness, while generic name, drug category, and creator organization attributes reached 30%, 52.13%, and 78.72%, respectively. These findings indicate that the National Drug Master Data has a strong structural foundation but requires improvement in attribute completeness, metadata standardization, and data governance to enhance interoperability of national pharmaceutical information systems.
