Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly transforming educational practices by enabling more adaptive and personalized learning experiences in secondary schools. Nevertheless, previous applications of the Human–Organization–Technology Fit (HOT-Fit) model have given limited attention to the roles of information literacy and trust in influencing AI adoption. To address this gap, the present study expands the HOT-Fit framework by incorporating three additional constructs: information literacy, perceived validity, and perceived trust, in order to better explain AI readiness and adoption in educational settings. A quantitative approach was employed involving 316 senior high school students from Kuningan Regency, Indonesia. Data were gathered using a structured questionnaire based on a five-point Likert scale and analyzed through Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS v3.0 to evaluate 29 proposed hypotheses. The findings revealed that 21 hypotheses were statistically supported. Information literacy demonstrated a strong positive effect on perceived trust (β = 0.708; p < 0.001), as well as on system use, organizational structure, environmental support, and user satisfaction. In addition, system quality significantly contributed to user satisfaction, whereas service quality affected both system use and satisfaction. Among all relationships, net benefit exerted the strongest effect on action to use (β = 0.547; p < 0.001). The R² results for several endogenous constructs were above 0.50, indicating acceptable explanatory capability of the proposed model. Practically, the findings offer implications for educators, policymakers, and system developers in designing AI-supported learning environments by emphasizing the enhancement of digital literacy, service support, and system effectiveness for sustainable AI integration in schools.

Abstract

Background: Engagement with children’s literature has been recognized as an important factor in supporting literacy development and professional growth among pre-service teachers. However, limited empirical evidence is available regarding its contribution to information literacy skills and self-efficacy in teacher education contexts. Aims: This study aimed to analyze the effect of pre-service Islamic primary teachers’ engagement with children’s literature on information literacy skills and self-efficacy. Methods: A quantitative correlational design was employed. The participants were 38 students enrolled in the Primary Islamic Teacher Education Program during the odd semester of the 2025/2026 academic year at a higher education institution in Makassar, Indonesia. Participants were selected using total sampling. Data were collected through an information literacy test, a children’s literature engagement questionnaire, and a self-efficacy questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple linear regression with a bootstrap procedure (5,000 resamples; 95% BCa confidence interval). Results: The findings revealed that engagement with children’s literature had a positive and significant effect on information literacy skills (B = 0.226, p = .011, 95% BCa CI [0.005, 0.375]), explaining 18.2% of the variance (R² = .182). Engagement with children’s literature also had a positive and significant effect on self-efficacy (B = 0.959, p < .001, 95% BCa CI [0.630, 1.251]), explaining 61.6% of the variance (R² = .616). The findings indicate a stronger effect on self-efficacy than on information literacy skills. Conclusions: Engagement with children’s literature contributes significantly to the development of pre-service teachers’ information literacy skills and self-efficacy. Integrating children’s literature into teacher education programs may serve as a sustainable strategy for strengthening both cognitive and affective competencies that support future teaching practice.

Abstract

The freight forwarding industry relies heavily on complete and accurate sales documentation to support revenue recognition, accounts receivable recording, tax compliance, and reliable financial reporting. The quality of accounting information generated by an Accounting Information System (AIS) depends largely on the effectiveness of internal controls governing sales documentation. However, deficiencies in supporting document completeness, document verification, and interdepartmental coordination continue to undermine accounting information reliability in many freight forwarding companies. This study evaluates the effectiveness of internal controls over sales documentation using the COSO Internal Control Framework within an Indonesian freight forwarding company. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed through observations, document analysis, interviews, and internal control evaluation at PT X. The findings indicate that weaknesses in supporting document completeness, authorization procedures, information and communication, ERP utilization, and monitoring reduce the reliability of accounting records, increase the risk of inaccurate revenue recognition and accounts receivable reporting, and ultimately impair financial reporting quality. The study extends the application of the COSO Internal Control Framework by demonstrating how deficiencies in sales documentation controls influence accounting information quality, thereby providing an Accounting Information Systems perspective that links internal controls with financial reporting reliability. The findings further suggest that strengthening document verification procedures, optimizing ERP integration, and enhancing continuous monitoring can improve accounting information quality and support more reliable financial reporting.

Abstract

The increasing demand for accurate financial management requires cooperatives to adopt integrated accounting information systems. The employee cooperative of the Indonesian Teachers Association in Arjawinangun still uses manual procedures for recording loans, installment payments, and financial reports, causing delays, data duplication, calculation errors, and limited access to timely information. This study aims to analyze the existing loan accounting information system and design a computerized system to improve operational effectiveness and reporting quality. Using a descriptive approach and the Waterfall development method, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the current manual system is inefficient in processing loan applications, verifying member data, managing installment transactions, and generating reports. The proposed system integrates member, loan, and installment data into a centralized database, automates calculations and report generation, and enables real-time monitoring. The design is expected to improve data accuracy, operational efficiency, internal control, and management decision-making, while supporting the digital transformation of cooperatives and serving as a reference for similar financial institutions.
