Abstract

Human trafficking is a form of crime that threatens human rights and negatively impacts social life (UNODC, 2024; IOM, 2023). Prevention efforts are not only carried out through law enforcement but also require the role of education in building legal awareness, humanitarian values, and the community's ability to recognize various forms of human trafficking (UNESCO, 2023; Kemendikbudristek, 2022). This study aims to analyze the role of education in preventing human trafficking in Indonesia and identify challenges in implementing prevention education in schools and communities. This study used a library research method with a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were obtained from laws and regulations, books, scientific articles, and other relevant documents. The results show that education plays a strategic role in improving legal literacy, shaping students' character, and instilling awareness of the dangers of human trafficking from an early age (Lickona, 1991; UNESCO, 2023). Integrating material on human rights, child protection, and the dangers of human trafficking into the learning process can increase students' awareness of various crime modes (UNICEF, 2023). However, the implementation of preventive education still faces various obstacles, such as limited teaching materials, a lack of educator competence, and minimal collaboration between educational institutions, the government, and the community (Kemendikbudristek, 2022). Therefore, curriculum strengthening, educator capacity building, and cross-sectoral collaboration are needed so that education can function optimally as a preventive strategy in preventing human trafficking in Indonesia.

Abstract

A company website plays a crucial role as an information medium that provides profiles , services , and the latest information to the public . This study aims to evaluate the quality of the Galesong Group website (galesong.co.id) as an information medium using the GTmetrix and Google Lighthouse methods . The study used a quantitative descriptive approach by testing the website's homepage using both tools to obtain performance scores and Core Web Vitals metrics . The test results showed that the Performance score on Google Lighthouse was 58 ( moderate category ), while GTmetrix recorded a grade F with a Performance score of 25 % . Both tools consistently identified Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) and Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) as the most critical issues , with LCP ranging from 2.5–4.5 seconds and CLS reaching 0.367, both exceeding the recommended threshold . The main factors causing these issues included excessive total page size ( 7.79 MB ) , unoptimized images , CSS resources that hinder rendering, and long- duration JavaScript tasks from third - party scripts such as live chat widgets . This study concludes that although the website scored well in the Best Practices category (92), significant optimization is still needed in image compression , JavaScript management , and layout stability to improve user experience and search engine visibility . These findings confirm that automated audit tools such as Lighthouse and GTmetrix are effective and complementary methods for evaluating the quality of a website as an information medium .

Abstract

Public communication plays a vital role in shaping organizational reputation and fostering public trust in government institutions. In an increasingly dynamic media environment, news framing by mass media and social media can significantly influence public perceptions of institutional credibility. As the public relations unit of Indonesia’s Ministry of Finance, the Bureau of Communication and Information Services (KLI) serves as a strategic intermediary between the institution and the public, particularly in responding to issues and negative publicity that may affect organizational reputation. This study aims to examine and analyze the communication strategies employed by the KLI Bureau to maintain and strengthen the Ministry’s reputation in both current and future contexts. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through focus group discussions and in-depth interviews and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings reveal that reputation management constitutes the primary focus of public communication within the Ministry of Finance. The KLI Bureau promotes a positive organizational reputation through integrated communication strategies, including the use of social media and collaboration with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs). Crisis management is carried out proactively by monitoring issues and responding quickly to negative sentiment. The study also identifies several challenges, including internal coordination, limited communication competencies, and the need to adapt technical messages to diverse audiences. To enhance communication effectiveness, the study recommends optimizing KOL engagement, strengthening positive institutional narratives, and improving organizational capacity through training and coordination.

Abstract

The digitalization of zakat services has expanded the accessibility and efficiency of zakat payments in Indonesia. However, the sustainability of digital zakat institutions depends heavily on contributors’ trust in the quality of electronic services and the transparency of institutional information. This study examines the influence of electronic service quality and information transparency on trust in digital zakat institutions among zakat contributors in Indonesia. A quantitative explanatory design was employed using a structured questionnaire distributed to 120 respondents who had paid zakat through digital platforms. Respondents were selected through purposive sampling, and all variables were measured using a five-point Likert scale. Data were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics Version 25 through descriptive statistics, validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination. The results show that electronic service quality has a positive and significant effect on trust. Information transparency also has a positive and significant effect on trust. Simultaneously, both variables significantly influence trust, as indicated by an F-value of 88.714 and a significance level below 0.001. The model explains 60.2% of the variance in contributors’ trust. These findings indicate that reliable digital services, secure transactions, responsive support, accessible financial reporting, and clear zakat distribution information are important determinants of trust. Digital zakat institutions should therefore strengthen both technological service quality and transparent governance to increase contributor confidence and sustain formal zakat participation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the dilemma between the phenomenon of information virality and the protection of individual privacy within the ethics of news visualization in multimedia journalism in the new media era. Employing a qualitative approach through the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, secondary data were collected from books, scholarly journals, academic articles, and relevant journalistic ethical regulations published within the last five years. The findings reveal that the characteristics of digital media and social media platform algorithms have contributed to the increasing culture of information virality through the utilization of emotional elements (emotion) and narratives (stories) within the STEPPS framework. In practice, media orientation toward speed and engagement often leads to privacy violations, such as the publication of photographs or videos of accident victims, individuals experiencing traumatic situations, and the identities of minors without proper censorship or consent. This unethical visual exploitation has negative psychological and social impacts, including trauma, cyberbullying, stigmatization, and reputational damage caused by permanent digital footprints. Based on the Social Responsibility Theory of the Press, press freedom in fulfilling the public interest must be balanced with respect for human dignity and individual privacy rights. Therefore, this study emphasizes the importance of implementing ethical measures through visual identity protection (censorship/blurring), mandatory content verification, enforcement of the Journalistic Code of Ethics, and prioritizing the protection of vulnerable groups in order to establish healthy and responsible multimedia journalism within the digital environment.

Abstract

Digital transformation has significantly changed the communication mechanisms of public healthcare services, particularly in improving information accessibility and reducing gaps between service providers and users. The National Health Insurance (JKN) program in Indonesia faces challenges in disseminating information effectively to millions of participants, resulting in information asymmetry regarding participants’ rights, obligations, and healthcare procedures. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Mobile JKN application as an external communication channel and evaluate its contribution to reducing information asymmetry between BPJS Kesehatan and JKN participants. This research employed a quantitative approach using a cross-sectional survey design. Data were collected from 290 active JKN participants who had used the Mobile JKN application for at least three months. The research instrument was a structured questionnaire measured using a five-point Likert scale, while data analysis was conducted through descriptive statistics and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results showed that Mobile JKN had high effectiveness as an external communication medium with an overall score of 3.67. The highest dimension was information accessibility (4.12), indicating that the application successfully improved participants’ access to healthcare information. Furthermore, the application reduced information asymmetry by 33.9%, particularly in improving participants’ understanding of their rights. However, challenges remained, including low digital literacy (43.8%), technical application problems (33.8%), and limited internet access (29.7%). This study concludes that Mobile JKN plays an important role in strengthening digital communication and reducing information disparities in public healthcare services. Continuous system improvement, digital literacy enhancement, and broader socialization strategies are required to optimize its effectiveness.

Abstract

IntroductionMicro, small, and medium enterprises play a vital role in economic growth, employment generation, and regional development. However, increasing digitalization and supply chain complexity require these enterprises to strengthen organizational capabilities and integrate digital technologies to improve operational performance. Although organizational readiness, management support, financial technology, and accounting information systems have received growing scholarly attention, their integrated effects on supply chain performance remain insufficiently understood, particularly in emerging economies.ObjectivesThis study examines the effects of organizational readiness, management support, and financial technology adoption on supply chain performance while investigating the mediating role of accounting information systems. It also develops an integrated theoretical framework by combining organizational capability and digital transformation perspectives with insights from Islamic economics.MethodThis study employed a quantitative explanatory research design involving 396 micro, small, and medium enterprises operating in Medan, Indonesia. Data were collected through structured questionnaires administered to business owners and managers and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares. The analysis evaluated measurement reliability and validity, structural relationships, and mediation effects among the proposed constructs.ResultsThe findings demonstrate that organizational readiness, management support, and financial technology adoption significantly improve accounting information systems and supply chain performance. Financial technology adoption exhibits the strongest influence on accounting information systems, while accounting information systems significantly enhance supply chain performance and mediate the effects of organizational readiness, management support, and financial technology adoption. These results indicate that successful digital transformation depends not only on technological adoption but also on organizational preparedness, leadership commitment, and integrated information systems that improve decision-making, operational coordination, and supply chain efficiency.ImplicationsThe findings suggest that managers should implement integrated digital transformation strategies by strengthening organizational readiness, leadership commitment, financial technology utilization, and accounting information systems simultaneously. Policymakers should support these efforts through digital infrastructure development, managerial capability enhancement, financial inclusion initiatives, and regulatory frameworks that facilitate sustainable digital transformation among micro, small, and medium enterprises.Originality/NoveltyThis study contributes to the digital transformation literature by integrating the Resource-Based View, the Technology–Organization–Environment framework, Dynamic Capabilities Theory, and the DeLone and McLean Information Systems Success Model into a unified framework explaining supply chain performance. It further enriches existing knowledge by incorporating Islamic economics perspectives that emphasize transparency, justice, financial inclusion, and ethical digital governance as complementary foundations for sustainable organizational performance.

Abstract

Information Technology (IT) investment in banks could influence investor perceptions of the bank's future prospects. IT investment in banks is often associated with service innovation, operational efficiency, increased competitiveness, and expanded market share. This study aims to empirically test the effect of IT investment in banks on stock market performance using unbalanced panel data and Fixed Effect Model (FEM) analysis. Furthermore, the sample used in this study was commercial banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, with the study period 2012-2022. The results show that IT investment in banks has been proven to have a positive impact on stock market performance. Banks with higher technology involvement tend to have strong stock returns. These findings have implications for banks to invest in IT not only to improve operational efficiency and expand service access, but also as a strategy to improve market performance. Furthermore, IT investment in banks can be used as an indicator for capital market investors in assessing banks' future prospects.
