Abstract

Background. The Information System is a technology that can be utilized at the Al-Mujtahidin Mosque to assist the governance management process which is currently being managed manually. As a result, reporting is not transparent and can only be accessed by certain people. With this management information system, it is hoped that it can improve the quality of services at the mosque.. Purpose. The final aim of this research is to improve the quality of Al-Mujtahidin mosque services and provide a more holistic understanding to the congregation or community around the mosque. By gaining a more complete and integrated understanding of religion, science and technology, it is hoped that the congregation will be able to better integrate this knowledge into their daily lives. This will help the Jamaat use technology in the form of better applications, solve complex problems, and face modern challenges with a richer and deeper understanding. Method. In this empowerment, a statistical-based feature extraction method will be applied, namely searching for features characteristic of service conditions based on the level of the activity itself and will be adjusted to the level of service that will be provided to stakeholders. This method is largely determined by the conditions of activity at the Al-Mujtahidin Mosque.. Results. Application and development of information technology for Android-based Al-Mujtahidin mosque services and integration of technology on the internet network, making it easier for mosque congregations to obtain information services at the Al-Mujtahidin mosque. And currently it is still not running optimally and effectively, so there needs to be special guidance efforts for managers, so that mosque services based on the integration of science and technology can run more effectively. Conclusion. Science and technology cannot be separated in people's lives, including from an Islamic perspective. Mosque management information services are urgently needed. Therefore there is a need to utilize information technology in terms of services at mosques which can provide information services regarding mosque activities including, infaq services, sodakoh and information on other routine mosque activities. The application implemented is expected to be able to answer the needs of the current congregation, which is quite large in number. In general, the management will obtain the expected results or goals, because Currently, the Al-Mujtahidin Mosque must be ready for advances in the field. Technology and science are increasingly becoming a part of people's lives and are also able to compete in increasing numbers when compared with other mosques.

Abstract

Background. Mainstream digital public infrastructure (DPI) often fails to serve marginalized communities, reinforcing the “digital divide” caused by exclusionary design that overlooks barriers such as low literacy and lack of digital trust. Purpose. To quantitatively analyze the causal impact of a co-designed, voice-first mobile application on access to information and public services for marginalized communities. Method. The study employed a mixed-methods, quasi-experimental Difference-in-Differences (DiD) design, comparing an intervention group (N = 120) with a control group (N = 115). The intervention’s impact was measured using the validated Digital Access and Agency Index (DAAI). Results. The intervention group showed a transformative and statistically significant improvement: their service application rate increased from 8.3% to 62.5%, and their mean DAAI score rose by 22.38 points (p < 0.001), while the control group showed no change. Conclusion. The digital divide is fundamentally a design problem rather than a user deficit. The co-design process, by fostering social trust, served as the main causal mechanism for reducing digital exclusion, demonstrating that inclusive, human-centered design can effectively empower vulnerable populations.

Abstract

Background. This research addresses the intersection of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and women’s empowerment in Afghanistan, aligning with global initiatives and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The study aims to provide nuanced insights into the multifaceted impact of ICT on financial independence, economic empowerment, and health outcomes among Afghan women. Purpose. The research employs a purposive sampling method, involving 170 participants from diverse regions in Afghanistan to ensure representation from areas with varying socio-economic and cultural characteristics. Through a mixed-methods approach, including structured surveys and qualitative analysis, the study seeks to understand the perceptions of ICT and its experiences with women’s empowerment. Method. Structured surveys cover demographics, ICT perceptions, and women’s empowerment experiences. Qualitative data undergo thematic analysis, while quantitative analysis utilizes statistical methods such as ANOVA, logistic regression, chi-square tests, binomial tests, and descriptive statistics. Results. The findings underscore a consensus among participants on the positive impact of ICT, particularly on financial independence, economic empowerment, and health outcomes. Associations between telemedicine, digital health, and improved women’s health are identified. Binomial tests highlight success in bridging the digital gender gap and enhancing awareness. Positive perceptions of social media, online communities, and digital advocacy in promoting gender equality are revealed through descriptive statistics. Conclusion. This study contributes novel insights by comprehensively examining the impact of ICT on women’s empowerment in Afghanistan, covering diverse dimensions such as financial independence, economic empowerment, and health outcomes. The robust mixed-methods approach yields unique findings that enrich the existing literature on ICT and women’s empowerment.

Abstract

Background. Effective data management and visualization are essential for fast and informed decision-making in the retail industry. However, traditional data visualization methods are often less interactive and need help comprehensively conveying information. Augmented Reality (AR) offers great potential to improve visualizing data, allowing users to interact with data more intuitively and dynamically. Purpose. This research aims to integrate Augmented Reality technology with Management Information Systems (MIS) in retail, focusing on improving data visualization. The main objective is to evaluate the effectiveness of AR in presenting complex data more clearly and interactively to enhance the quality of decision-making in retail management. Method. The research method used is application development and testing. First, an AR application integrated with MIS is developed using an iterative software development approach. Once the application is created, testing is done in a retail environment. Qualitative and quantitative data were collected through observations, interviews, and surveys to evaluate the effectiveness and acceptability of this technology. Results. Research results show that integrating AR with MIS significantly improves how retail managers visualize and understand data. AR applications enable more interactive and easy-to-understand data visualization, which helps managers analyze trends and make better decisions. Users report improvements in decision-making efficiency and accuracy after using this app. Conclusion. Integration of Augmented Reality with Management Information Systems in retail has proven effective in improving data visualization. This technology not only makes data more accessible and understandable but also enhances user interaction with the data, leading to more informed decision-making. This research suggests a more comprehensive application of AR technology in the retail industry to support better and more efficient management.

Abstract

Background. The rapid evolution of digital technologies has transformed educational practices, with information systems playing a critical role in enhancing collaborative learning in higher education. Collaborative learning, which emphasizes peer-to-peer interaction and shared knowledge construction, fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills essential for the 21st-century workforce. Despite its potential, the implementation of effective collaborative learning strategies often faces challenges such as insufficient technological support and lack of engagement. Purpose. This study investigates the role of information systems in facilitating collaborative learning, focusing on their impact on student engagement, knowledge sharing, and learning outcomes. Method. A mixed-method approach was employed, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews with 200 undergraduate students and 20 faculty members across three higher education institutions. Data were collected on the use of information systems such as learning management platforms, virtual collaboration tools, and online forums. Key performance indicators included student engagement, participation rates, and academic performance. Results. The findings revealed that information systems significantly enhance collaborative learning by providing a centralized platform for communication, resource sharing, and real-time interaction. Students reported a 30% increase in engagement and a 25% improvement in teamwork efficiency when using digital collaboration tools. Faculty members highlighted the ease of monitoring and supporting group activities through analytics and reporting features. Challenges such as digital literacy gaps and technical issues were also identified. Conclusion. The study concludes that information systems are pivotal in enabling effective collaborative learning by fostering connectivity, engagement, and accountability among students. Addressing challenges related to accessibility and technical support will maximize their potential in higher education.

Abstract

Cyberspace is the interdependent network of information technology infrastructures such as the internet, telecommunications networks, and computer systems. Meanwhile, Indonesia's Law Number 11 of 2008 and its amendment through Indonesian Law Number 19 of 2016 governing cyberspace have been viewed to contradict and infringe other areas of law, such as protection of press or freedom of expression. Hence, this study seeks to identify the controversies and problems regarding the law deemed urgent for amendment. Further, this study creates recommendations so the government may amend electronic information policy more fairly and efficiently. This study uses a judicial normative and comparative approach. This research tries to analyze the existing regulations and the implementation and compare Indonesia's cyberspace regulation with other States'. This study finds that Articles 27(3) and 28(2) of the law criminalize defamation and hate speech in an overly broad manner and that Article 40(2)(b) allows the government to exercise problematic censorship. As a result, they have infringed the freedom of the press and general freedom of expression in practice. In response to this, this study compares similar provisions from other States and recommends amendment the articles to become narrower and more clearly defined.

Abstract

Background: Radiology reports increasingly enter patient-facing digital health environments, yet their technical vocabulary, compressed syntax, and implicit diagnostic reasoning often exceed lay comprehension, particularly in multilingual Indonesian healthcare contexts. Objective: This study aims to compare how expert- and AI-generated simplifications transform Indonesian radiology-related information into patient narratives across readability, semantic fidelity, and narrative-pragmatic alignment. Method: A comparative qualitative-dominant corpus design was applied to 68 coded meaning units derived from 17 publicly verifiable radiology-related documents, with paired expert and AI simplifications analysed through health-literacy, clinical-risk, and patient-centred discourse matrices. Results: Findings show that AI-generated simplifications more frequently improved lexical accessibility, direct patient address, explanatory sequencing, orientation sentences, and actionable guidance. Expert-generated simplifications more consistently preserved uncertainty, diagnostic caution, warning, proportional reassurance, and source-bound clinical meaning. Implication: Results further indicate that readability gains and patient-centred voice do not automatically guarantee semantic accountability, because fluent AI explanations may introduce unsupported additions, softened risk, or overconfident reformulation. Novelty: This study contributes a triadic framework for evaluating medical simplification as readability transformation, semantic fidelity, and narrative-pragmatic alignment rather than as plain-language rewriting alone.

Abstract

The management of data and information related to research and community service (LITABMAS) at LPPM Politeknik Piksi Ganesha frequently faces obstacles due to manual processes and difficulties in tracking project progress. This research adopts a case study approach to describe the implementation of the Research and Community Service Information System (SIMLITABMAS) based on the Laravel Framework. The primary objective is to present an efficient, centralized solution. The development of SIMLITABMAS utilizes the Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodology, which emphasizes iterative development and responsiveness to user feedback. The Laravel Framework was selected for its structured Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture, reliable security features, and rich package ecosystem. The implementation of SIMLITABMAS successfully created an integrated platform to manage various stages of LITABMAS activities, ranging from proposal submission to result reporting. It is expected that this system can improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and transparency in the management of research and community service at LPPM Politeknik Piksi Ganesha.

Abstract

The advancement of information technology has encouraged retail business owners to utilize transaction data as a basis for business decision-making, particularly in determining sales strategies and product recommendations. Shoe Store X possesses continuously growing sales transaction data; however, this data has not yet been optimally utilized to identify customer purchasing patterns. This study aims to design a product recommendation information system using the Apriori algorithm applied to the sales transaction data of Shoe Store X. The Apriori algorithm is used to discover patterns of relationships between products based on support and confidence values, thereby generating association rules that reveal the tendency of products to be purchased together. The research method employed includes the collection of sales transaction data, analysis of system requirements, system design, implementation of the Apriori algorithm, and testing of the recommendation results. The system developed is expected to help the store provide product recommendations to customers, formulate promotional strategies, arrange product placement, and improve sales effectiveness. The result of this research is an information system capable of processing transaction data into more targeted and user-friendly product recommendation information for store owners. With this system, Shoe Store X can utilize historical sales data as a basis for more effective, efficient, and data-driven decision-making.

Abstract

The agricultural sector has an essential role in the regional economy of the Demak Regency because the agricultural sector is the leading sector. The area of agricultural land in Demak Regency that continues to decrease requires detailed mapping portraits of each food crop commodity per sub-district. This study aims to analyze the leading food crop commodities in each sub-district, analyze the regional growth rate of food crop commodities, and map the food crop commodities developed in Demak Regency. Data analysis method using Location Quotient, Shift Share, Scalogram, and Geographic Information System. The results showed that rice and soybeans were the leading commodities with advanced and competitive growth rates in Demak Regency. The superior rice commodities in the districts are Bonang, Sayung, Karang Tengah, Wedung, and Mijen. Main Soybean Commodity in the District: Mijen. Map of the rice processing industry development in the districts: Dempet, Bonang, and Guntur. Map of soybean processing industry development in the districts: Guntur, Demak, and Mijen.
