Abstract

This study aimed to analyzes population growth and land cover change in Palembang City from 2020 to 2024 using GIS, the overlay method, and correlation analysis between population data and time-series land cover maps. The results show that population growth significantly contributes to the expansion of open/built-up land, particularly in densely populated districts such as Sukarami, Ilir Barat Satu, and Alang-Alang Lebar. The correlation matrix indicates a strong association between population and open/built-up land (r=0.84), and a moderate association with vegetation (r=0.47). A strong negative interaction between open/built-up land and vegetation (r=0.77) suggests that the growth of built-up regions reduces green space. Population size is almost uncorrelated with water/clouds (r=0.01), indicating that natural factors have a greater influence on this category than human activity. Overall, the study concludes that population expansion in Palembang drives urbanization and vegetation decline, highlighting the need for sustainable spatial management to maintain a balance between development and environmental sustainability.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has created a new space for internet-based crimes, one of which is cyberbullying targeting children as victims. This phenomenon continues to rise in Indonesia, in line with the high rate of social media usage among minors. Nevertheless, the existing legal system has not been sufficiently responsive in addressing cyberbullying specifically, especially when viewed from the perspective of child protection. The Law on Electronic Information and Transactions (Law No. 11 of 2008 in conjunction with Law No. 19 of 2016) does not explicitly regulate cyberbullying as a criminal offense, while the Child Protection Law (Law No. 23 of 2002 in conjunction with Law No. 35 of 2014 and Law No. 17 of 2016) also does not adequately cover digital-based violence. This normative and implementative gap creates difficulties in prosecuting perpetrators and risks neglecting the rights of children who are victims of cyberbullying. This paper analyzes the need for a reformulation of criminal policy through the establishment of specific norms that explicitly criminalize cyberbullying against children. The research uses a normative juridical approach and emphasizes the importance of integrating child protection into every criminal legal policy in the digital era. The proposed reformulation includes revising the norms in the ITE Law and the Child Protection Law, as well as strengthening the roles of law enforcement officers and digital platforms. The findings of this study highlight the urgency of criminal law reform that is not only repressive, but also preventive and rehabilitative for child victims.

Abstract

Background of Study: Digital information systems can streamline educational administration, but the presence of technology alone does not guarantee efficient services. Aims and Scope of Paper: This study examined the statistical association between the quality of the Islamic Education Management Information System and madrasah administrative efficiency at MA Imam Ibnu Katsir Pekanbaru. Methods: A quantitative explanatory survey was conducted with a population of 344 students. A sample of 185 students was determined using the Slovin formula with a 5% margin of error and was selected using the random sampling procedure reported in the original study. Data were collected with two 15-item, five-point Likert scales measuring perceived information-system quality and madrasah administrative efficiency. Item validity, Cronbach's alpha reliability, descriptive statistics, assumption tests, and simple linear regression were analyzed in IBM SPSS Statistics 29. Results: Perceived information-system quality was high (M = 4.10, SD = 0.47), as was madrasah administrative efficiency (M = 4.07, SD = 0.50). Regression analysis indicated a positive association between the two variables (B = 0.670, beta = 0.689, t = 12.846, p < .001), and the model explained 47.5% of the variance in administrative efficiency (R2 = .475). Conclusion: Within this madrasah and from the students' perspective, better perceived information-system quality was associated with more efficient administrative services. The result supports the practical value of reliable systems, accurate information, responsive service, ease of use, and data security, while the survey design does not establish causality.

Abstract

Flood risk assessment of Ofu River Catchment in Nigeria was carried out by integration of thematic maps in ArcGIS 10.2.2. Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was applied in the decision making and ranking of flood causative factors before their integration for development of hazard map in ArcGIS. The social and physical vulnerability of the catchment were considered in the development of the vulnerability map. The flood risk map was developed as a product of the hazard and vulnerability map. The results showed that the land areas within the Very High and High Risk zones were respectively 163.07 km2 and 392.63 km2 with Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area (LGA) accounting for about 62% and 31% respectively. A total of 19, 034 and 47,652 persons are respectively at very high and high risk of flood within the catchment. Oforachi community in Igalamela/Odolu LGA and Ejule Ojebe Community in Ibaji LGA both in Kogi State are respectively at Very High and High Risk of Ofu River flood. High Impacts were recorded by about 35% and 52% of Oforachi Community during the 1995 and 2000 historical flood events. A watershed management plan is therefore required to prevent the serious damage experienced in previous flood events.

Abstract

Coastal areas are found in the dynamic zone at the interface between the three major natural systems of the Earth's surface. The phenomenon of shoreline change is one of the most frequent problems encountered in the coastal environment and is caused by natural processes that result in dynamic changes in the coastal area. Coastal area change can affect the vulnerability of the coastal environment and its properties, such as shoreline stabilization, flood control, sediment retention, natural protection and others. The method of integrating remote sensing data with geographic information system (GIS) techniques has been widely used to monitor and analyze the dynamics of shoreline change in coastal areas. The purpose of this study is to map and analyze the dynamics of shoreline change from 1978 to 2017 in the study area. An approach combining spectral value index and visual interpretation of Landsat images was used and proposed to indicate the separation of land and water bodies, for shoreline extraction. The normalized difference water index (NDWI) can be used as a spectral value index approach for differentiating land and water bodies. Furthermore, the analysis of shoreline changes was performed using the digital shoreline analysis system (DSAS). Based on calculations made using DSAS, it can be seen that the pattern of coastline change tends to be dominated by offshore erosion. The results of this study may also be important as input data for coastal hazard assessment as part of the effort to overcome the problem of flood tides.

Abstract

Upstream Bali has tourist destinations with beautiful natural panoramas such as mountains, forest areas, and lakes. Characteristics of the area with steep slopes, high rainfall, and altitude above 1,500 masl. The area is inseparable from the threat of disasters, such as landslides, especially in the Baturiti District. This area often experiences landslides but has not been mapped spatially. Mitigation efforts are needed to minimize the impact of landslides. This study aimed to determine the potential for landslides and their distribution in different periods, namely 2000, 2010, and 2020. The scoring method considers four parameters: rainfall, slope, soil type, and vegetation density, using ArcGIS 10.8 Apps. Parameters extracted from remote sensing data include Landsat with ETM+ and OLI sensors, rainfall from the CHIRPS satellite, and slopes from DEMNAS. Geographic Information System (GIS) data includes soil types. Another role of GIS is to quantify raster data to build a landslide potential prediction model. Baturiti Subdistrict has a low to high potential for landslides, which are administratively distributed in Candikuning, Baturiti, Antapan, Batunya, and Bangli villages. The landslide potential in the high category in 2000, 2010, and 2020 respectively, is 70.12 ha (1%), 597.05 ha (5%), and 39.12 ha (1%). Based on the findings of this study, the leading cause of landslides is high rainfall followed by reduced vegetation density. Other factors include steep slopes (>45%) and soil types of Andosol and Regosol.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of good corporate governance and sharia compliance on managerial performance in sharia entities with information technology as a moderating variable. This research uses an associative quantitative approach with primary data obtained through questionnaires distributed to Bank Syariah Indonesia employees operating in the South Tangerang area. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares-based Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) using the SmartPLS version 4.0 application to test direct and moderated relationships between variables. The results of the study indicate that good corporate governance has a positive and significant effect on managerial performance, but sharia compliance is proven to have a negative and insignificant influence on managerial performance. Furthermore, information technology is proven to be able to significantly moderate the effect of good corporate governance on managerial performance, indicating that good utilization of information technology can strengthen the effectiveness of corporate governance. However, information technology is not proven to significantly moderate the effect of sharia compliance on managerial performance. These findings indicate that while sharia compliance is important in the operations of sharia entities, improved managerial performance is more influenced by the integration of corporate governance and adequate information technology system support. This research is expected to provide theoretical and practical contributions to the development of management and governance of sharia entities in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to design and develop a web-based sales accounting information system using the Laravel framework to address the lack of structured financial record-keeping at the MSME "Nasi Kuning Angel." Previously, the absence of such a system hindered the owner from evaluating business performance and preparing the financial reports often required for external financing applications. The study employs the Waterfall development methodology, encompassing the stages of requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The system design utilizes Use Case Diagrams and Activity Diagrams, which are technically implemented via the Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture in Laravel. The results demonstrate the successful development of a system featuring a public landing page, transaction journal recording, a general ledger, and automated financial dashboards and reports. Testing conducted using Use Case Testing techniques confirms that all operational functions and authorization validations operate correctly in accordance with user requirement specifications. This web application modernizes the MSME's administrative management, facilitates transaction recording, and generates standard-compliant profit and loss statements and trial balances.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the transition from an inefficient manual attendance system to a digital information system at Pondok Modern Nurul Islam, an Islamic boarding school. The success of such a system depends heavily on user acceptance. This study aims to compare the effectiveness of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) in explaining user acceptance of the digital attendance system. This study used a quantitative approach, collecting data from 203 users (students, teachers, and staff) through a survey questionnaire. The data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method. The results show that both models can explain user acceptance. In the TAM model, all hypotheses were significant, with Perceived Usefulness being a dominant factor. In the UTAUT model, Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, and Social Influence significantly impacted Behavioral Intention. The UTAUT model was found to be more comprehensive in explaining acceptance, although the hypothesis testing the influence of Facilitating Conditions on Behavioral Intention was rejected. This study concludes that UTAUT offers a more robust framework for this context, but TAM remains a simpler, relevant alternative for assessing technology adoption..

Abstract

A hospital operating under the Regional Public Service Agency (BLUD) financial management model requires an accurate, well-documented, and traceable planning process, as it is directly linked to the formulation of programs/activities, budgeting, control, and performance accountability. In practice, the BLUD planning process at RSUD Raden Mattaher Jambi still encounters challenges, including fragmented data processing, duplicate data entry, low data consistency, and suboptimal integration among supporting applications. These conditions result in prolonged planning cycles, a higher risk of errors, and limited transparency as well as insufficient audit trails in the approval process. This study aims to analyze business process requirements and design a web-based BLUD Hospital Planning Information System using an Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) approach. The research methods include literature review, observation, interviews, business process analysis, and system design using UML modeling. The results of the study consist of a web application architecture design that supports master data management, unit-based planning proposals, verification, revision, tiered approval, automatic recapitulation, and reporting. In addition, an EAI integration architecture is designed through services (service/API) to enable data synchronization across systems, including mechanisms for data mapping and transformation, logging, and integration error handling. The proposed design is expected to improve the efficiency of the BLUD planning process, enhance data consistency and availability, strengthen accountability through audit trails, and provide a more reliable integration foundation among applications within the hospital environment.
