Abstract

Abstract

Shrimp aquaculture industry is a sector characterized by high volatility and extreme biological risks. This research analyzes how supervisor leadership, team competence, and information quality function as determinants in the decision-making process and their implications for organizational performance. This study employs a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional survey design conducted in shrimp cultivation operational units at PT Central Proteina Prima (West Area). Data collected through perception-based questionnaires aggregated at the work unit level and analyzed using PLS-SEM. Population consisted of 450 cultivation operators and 75 supervisors, with a sample of 300 employees. Path analysis results while supervisor leadership exhibits a strong positive effect on organizational performance (β = 1.066, p < 0.001), team competence paradoxically exerts a significant negative effect on performance (β = -0.217, p = 0.006) and decision-making quality. Furthermore, formal decision-making quality failed to mediate the relationships, and high information quality was found to significantly weaken the influence of leadership on decision quality (β = -0.288, p < 0.001). These findings confirm the importance of adaptive crisis leadership in optimizing organizational performance in environments characterized by biological risk.

Abstract

Traditional accrual anomaly research posits that investors often overlook the accrual component of earnings, leading to a negative correlation between current-period accruals and future stock returns. However, recent studies suggest this relationship has diminished. This research investigates whether total accruals correlate more with current-period stock returns than with those one year ahead, and whether this relationship varies between Indonesia and Singapore. We analyze panel data from Industrial Goods manufacturing firms listed in these countries from 2015 to 2024, using fixed-effects regression with a country interaction term and relevant control variables. Our findings reveal that total accruals do not significantly impact one-year-ahead stock returns but are significantly and negatively linked to current-period stock returns. The interaction between accruals and country is not significant, indicating no statistical difference in accrual pricing between the two markets. These results are consistent across both halves of the sample period, suggesting that accrual information may be integrated into stock prices sooner than the traditional accrual anomaly framework predicts.

Abstract

This study explores the readiness of the ethics committee at Bhakti Husada Mulia Institute to transition from manual to web-based archive management using the SIM-EPK system. The research aims to assess the preparedness of committee administrators and reviewers in adapting to digital document management. To assess the readiness of human resources (administrators and reviewers) within the ethics committee at Bhakti Husada Mulia Institute in transitioning from a manual to a web-based system for managing research protocol document archives using SIM-EPK. Using a quantitative method with a pretest – posttest design, data were collected from all 24 committee members via an online questionnaire. The findings indicate a strong preference for web-based systems: 91.66% chose digital protocol management, 83.33% found it more flexible for completing ethics protocols, and 100% agreed that web-based systems ease access and retrieval of documents. However, despite these advantages, the web-based process sometimes took longer than manual procedures. This study concludes that digital adoption is promising, although further improvements are needed to streamline operations and ensure full integration. These results can serve as a model for other institutions undergoing digital transformation in research ethics administration. The ethics committee at BHM shows a high level of readiness for digital transformation using SIM-EPK. Web-based systems offer clear benefits in accessibility and document control, though technical and human factors still cause delays. Continued improvements and scaling strategies are needed to fully optimize digital ethics management across institutions.

Abstract

The advancement of information technology in healthcare has encouraged hospitals to modernize digital work systems through Hospital Management Information Systems (SIMRS) integrated with Electronic Medical Records (EMRs). RSKGM Bandung City migrated from its previous SIMRS to SIMRS Healthical to support service efficiency, data management, and readiness for national health-data integration. This study evaluated the migration using the HOT-FIT framework, covering Human, Organization, Technology, and Net Benefit dimensions. A descriptive qualitative approach was used with in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation involving 20 staff members who used or were directly involved with SIMRS Healthical. Interview responses were categorized by HOT-FIT indicator and summarized descriptively; the reported user counts represent coded response frequencies rather than inferential statistics. The findings indicate that users generally perceived the system as supportive of EMR implementation, although challenges remained in user adaptation, feature understanding, interface usability, system performance, and migrated-data completeness and accuracy. Six users reported inaccurate or incomplete migrated data, highlighting the need for structured validation and reconciliation. Because the design was qualitative and descriptive, the findings indicate reported experiences rather than statistically significant effects or a ranking of HOT-FIT dimensions. Strengthening training, system optimization, data-validation procedures, and continuous evaluation is recommended. By supporting reliable digital health information and continuity of hospital services, the study is relevant to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure).

Abstract

The implementation of a new Hospital Management Information System (SIMRS) integrated with Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) can improve healthcare services, but it may also introduce risks to patient-data security. This study aimed to analyze EMR security risk factors during the implementation of a new SIMRS at Hospital X. A descriptive qualitative approach was used through interviews and direct observation involving five purposively selected informants: two registration officers, two SIMRS security officers, and one SIMRS information technology staff member. The findings identified risks related to availability, confidentiality, physical and environmental security, human factors, and cybersecurity. A system downtime lasting more than one hour occurred during feature addition, network devices experienced technical disruptions, and failure to log out created a risk of unauthorized account use. Existing controls included individual usernames and passwords, role-based access restrictions, restricted database access for the IT team, CCTV-supported physical protection, and a firewall. The 5M analysis further grouped the identified issues into Man, Method, Machine, Material, and Money. The study concludes that EMR security at Hospital X is supported by several existing controls, but residual risks remain and require continuous management. Periodic security evaluation, stronger user compliance and training, improved infrastructure reliability, clearer access-control procedures, and regular cybersecurity maintenance are recommended to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of EMR data.
