Abstract

Cluster-based information retrieval is one of the information retrieval (IR) tools that organize, extract features and categorize the web documents according to their similarity. Unlike traditional approaches, cluster-based IR is fast in processing large datasets of document. To improve the quality of retrieved documents, increase the efficiency of IR and reduce irrelevant documents from user search. In this paper, we proposed a (K-means)-hierarchical parallel genetic algorithms approach (HPGA) that combines the K-means clustering algorithm with hybrid PG of multi-deme and master/slave PG algorithms. K-means uses to cluster the population to k subpopulations then take most clusters relevant to the query to manipulate in a parallel way by the two levels of genetic parallelism, thus, irrelevant documents will not be included in subpopulations, as a way to improve the quality of results. Three common datasets (NLP, CISI, and CACM) are used to compute the recall, precision, and F-measure averages. Finally, we compared the precision values of three datasets with Genetic-IR and classic-IR. The proposed approach precision improvements with IR-GA were 45% in the CACM, 27% in the CISI, and 25% in the NLP. While, by comparing with Classic-IR, (K-means)-HPGA got 47% in CACM, 28% in CISI, and 34% in NLP.

Abstract

Tourism today is one of the most important economic and social sectors in the world, which plays a prominent role in the development of countries. This importance has grown as an industry through the social media networks. In this paper, a proposed method has been introduced distinguish the main factors that impact the Frequency of Travel (FoT) among Iraq local tourists. Application (API) graphics and scrapy are utilized to collect information from TripAdvisor social network in a period of (2015-2018). The collected information are reprocessed and coded for the specified nominal data using tied rank. It is important to note that the adopted technique does not lose any data about the attribute and brings different properties beforehand obscure. Data mining ordinal logistic regression is used to extract user's behavior upon local tourism in Iraq. The expected outcome of this work is to discover out the effect of personal information and the type of places on the selection of the local touristic places in Iraq. The collected information was exploited to know the preferred local touristic trends, because there are no statistics on the number of domestic tourists in Iraq. The proposed model was used for analyzing personal information and types of preferred tourism places as a factors affecting frequency of travel in Iraq. The obtained results show the prediction of preferred touristic places by tourists in Iraq.

Abstract

This paper elucidates the sequential revisions of an information system (IS) project framework across the research model development and its examinations. The authors adopted, adapted, and combined five concepts of the project management discipline and the information processing theory to revise the framework. Besides the use of this multi-dimensional perspective, the authors were also succeeded to present an interrelation between the framework and the examined model within a coherent representation. It was one of the essential points of this model development study, in particular for presenting the research focus. It may be trivial issue for the experts in the research fields, but the coherent illustration is one of the critical issues in the validity measurement of a model, whereas the inexpert ones may need a guideline to represent the interrelationship. Such points became the main contribution of this study to fill the gap in the literatures, particularly in the lack of comprehensive detail of a research model development.

Abstract

Aceh province is the most affected area by the tsunami of 26 December 2004. Aceh also has experiencing a number of natural hazards; flood, earthquakes, and volcano’s eruptions. Until now, Aceh has no natural hazards information system which can be used to increase public awareness in order to reduce the impact of the hazards. Natural hazards information system provides hazard maps as the guideline for disaster risk mitigation planning. Therefore, the development of a Web GIS based information system for Aceh natural hazards, referred as Aceh Natural Hazards Information System (ANHIS), is a very strategic decision to increase public awareness of the risks of natural disaster hazard in Aceh. This paper proposes conceptual design and the development of prototype for ANHIS. The main purpose of ANHIS is to visualize many natural hazards maps and disseminate information of the hazardous areas for disaster agencies, researchers and communities in order to help them act on warning issue. In order to develop the prototype, the system requirements, configuration, system design and implementation are presented in this paper. Furthermore, the results of prototype for ANHIS are demonstrated in terms of individual hazard map and multi-hazard map of many natural hazards in Aceh. Finally, the conclusions give the perspectives for future implementation of ANHIS.

Abstract

Historically, scholars have been determining deductively critical success factors (CSFs) since the end 1970s. Meanwhile, most of researchers in the information system (IS) project performance studies have been performing inductively this process. Definitely, each of both methods has strengths and weaknesses, but we argue that researchers and practitioners will get an alternative choice if both methods are combined for sharing the caracteristics. This study is conducted to respond this issue. Authors combined both methods using a compatibility analysis to inprove the result validity. This paper contributes to the debates on ensuring the interrelationship between the project succes criteria and their CSFs, incorporating the new factors, decomposing complexity of the project, and understanding focus of the stakeholders in the IS project environment. Although, the proposed method is only a combination of both previous methods, but this proposition is proposed together with a case study to prove its implementation feasibility

Abstract

In space information network, the long delay and high link error rate are the most different characteristics from the traditional ground network. Based on the queuing game theory, a novel congestion control is proposed in this paper. It assumes that the users pay an admission fee for entering the queue, and then cost during the waiting time, at last they obtain a benefit from the node when they are serviced completely. This paper not only designs a variable admission fee in order that the proposed algorithm is more suitable for the space environment, but also considers the ending profits of the game which is described by a discount rate. The simulation result shows the proposed algorithm improve the network performance.

Abstract

With the popularity and rapid development of the Internet, web text information has rapidly grown as well. To address the key problem of text mining, text clustering is investigated in this study. The shuffled frog leaping algorithm as a new type of swarm intelligence optimization algorithm can be used to improve the performance of the K-means algorithm, but the shuffled frog leaping algorithm is influenced by its moving step length. On the basis of this information, the shuffled frog leaping algorithm is improved, and the K-means clustering algorithm based on the improved shuffled frog leaping algorithm is introduced. Experiment results show that the proposed scheme can enhance the ability of searching for the optimal initial clustering center and can effectively avoid instability in the clustering results of the K-means clustering algorithm. The proposed scheme also reduces the chances of the algorithm falling into the local optimum. The performance of the proposed clustering scheme is found to be better than that of the clustering algorithm based on the shuffled frog leaping algorithm.

Abstract

Describing and representing multi-source and heterogeneous knowledge is a popular research topic in recent years. After investigating knowledge forming process based on multi-source heterogeneous information resources, we present a new approach in which different information resources are put into a mutual RDF(S) data model, and semantic reasoning of RDF(S) is conducted. Moreover, a knowledge base construction framework for multi-source heterogeneous information source with combination of Ontology knowledge model is put forward, and an algorithm of knowledge base construction is also proposed, in which the core issues are knowledge inclusion and updating. Then the time complexity of our algorithm is analyzed. Finally, in order to solve the heterogeneous, and uneven horizontal of geographical distribution of ethnic minority information resources in Yunnan Province, we use the proposed method to construct a domain knowledge base for ethnic minority information resources, and use this model to evaluate the efficiency for the knowledge inclusion algorithm in responding time and indexing responding time for different data resources in our experiments.
