Abstract

 ABSTRACTTujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menganalisis dan mengidentifikasi bentuk dampak perang yang di alami oleh setiap tokoh dalam film dan mengungkapkan setiap bentuk dampak perang lewat unsur-unsur film. Pendekatan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Pengumpulan data di lakukan dengan mengscreenshotsetiap adegan atau gambar yang berkaiatan dengan bentuk dampak perang maupun yang berkaitan dengan unsur-unsur film, serta percakapan yang juga di paparkan dengan gambar maupun adegan.hasil dari analisis dan identifikasi yang telah di lakukan penulis menemukan beberaopa bentuk dampak perang yaitu;(1)kehilanagan debut karir, (2)perlakuan kekerasan, (3)korban tewas, (4)kerja paksa dan penindasan, serta (5) kecelakaan pesawat. Dari hasil yang di dapatkan, di simpulkan bahwa bentuk dampak perang yang di jelaskan lewat unsur-unsur film berdasarkan pada bentuk-bentuk film yang telah dipaparkan pada bab sebelumnya, dan dampak perang yang digambarkan lewat tiga unsur film yaitu; Dimensi Ruang,Dimensi Waktu, dan Dimensi Suara. Kata kunci : Dampak Perang, Bentuk-bentuk Dampak Perang, Unsur-unsur Film

Abstract

ABSTRACT This skripsi, entitled “Kesalahan – kesalahan Gramatikal dalam Karangan Deskriptif oleh Siswa SMK N.1 Amurang”, is an attempt to identify and analyze the types of errors in English grammar in descriptive writing made by grade XI of SMK N. 1 Amurang. The data were taken from the students’ writing homework. All data concerning grammatical errors were analyzed by using Lennon’s theory. The method used in this research is descriptive. The result of this research shows that there are four kinds of errors made by the students. Those four kinds of errors are first, addition is a grammatical error by adding a part which is unnecessary. Second, omission is a grammatical error by eliminate a part which is necessary. Third, substitution is a grammatical error by using some grammar to another grammar. And the last, ordering is a grammatical error by locate some words into wrong order. This research is expected to give a contribution to the study of linguistics and to help students in identifying errors in English that are commonly made by Indonesian learner.   Keywords : Grammatical errors, error analysis, addition, omission, substitution, and           ordering

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research entitled “Error Analysis of English in Status in the Social Media Facebook”, is an attempt to identify, classify, and analyze and describe the kinds of errors in the use of Social Media Facebook.  This research is expected to help in language development of and give information in order to increase knowledge to understand errors analysis especially in the Facebook. Ellis’s theory is used to identify, classify, and analyze the Error Analysis of English in Status in the Social Media Facebook.  This research used an error analysis which has been done in several stages preparation was made by reading status in the Facebook. Data was taken from Status in the Facebook. The writer use some techniques of analyzing the data, as follows, Identification of error, classification of error and analyze of error. The result of this research shows that there are 49 total data in the “status” on Facebook. The 3 kinds of error analysis in the theory of Ellis, which are Omission, Misinformation, and Misordering. This research is expected to be a benefit for everyone especially for those who interested in Applied Linguistics.    Keyword : Error Analysis, Status Social Media Facebook.

Abstract

ABSTRACT   As the requirement to accomplish the Sarjana Degree at the Faculty of Humanities Sam Ratulangi University Manado, this research entitled “expressive act in the Film Freedom Writer by Erin Gruwell” is intended. The focus of this skripsi is on expressive act analysis following the theory of Searle (1979) who divides expressive act into six categories and functions: apologizing, pardoning, praising, thanking, congratulating and condoling. The aims of this analysis are to categorize expressive act and to analyze its functions in the script of the film Freedom Writer by Erin Gruwell. The descriptive method is used in this research the data are categorized and analyzed by using the theory by Searle (1979). The result of this skripsi shows that the functions of expressive acts in the film Freedom Writer by Erin Gruwell are: apologizing, pardoning, praising, thanking, congratulating and condoling.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Semiotics is a study about signs and everything related with it; it also related with other signs, the sender and the recipient. System of significance exist (and therefore called code) if there possibility of generating function of signs that have been agreed by the community.         The code is a set of rules or conventions (agreements) together in which signs can be combined, thus enabling the message can be communicated from one to another,  In this research, the writer takes the codes used by touring in motorcycle touring activity as the object of research. In this categogy, codes are used in motorcycle touring activity for communication. The problem in this research, forms of codes used by YVCI or Yamaha Vixion Club Indonesia as a club of motorcycle and the mean of the codes are the aim of this research. The purpose of the research are identify and analyze, in the motorcycle touring activity. The data about codes were collected by getting some information from informants, by following their touring at many places like Manado, Tondano, Tanawangko, and Tomohon. All the data were analyzed based on Fieske’s theory of codes, and the research are uses descriptive analysis. The result in this research show there are 20 codes in YVCI Manado. There are 3 classification of codes, code of dangers, codes of way, and code of formation. The meaning of codes are, how to show the bikers about the condition during the touring when they are in dangerous, how to make direction for the bikers or describe the road when they are touring and codes help them to make a communication to give information in the road. Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research, entitled “The Interrogative Sentence in the Film God’s Not Dead by Harold Cronk”, is aimed to identifying, classifying and analyzing the types of interrogative sentence found in the film. The data have been collected by downloading the movie and script of God’s Not Dead, observing the script by watching it directly, taking the data from the rerecorded and written data, taking notes whenever the interrogative sentence found and analyzing the data based on related theory. Interrogative sentence is a sentence consisting of a subject and in front of an auxiliary verb or Wh- question. Further explained that the question sentence beginning with an auxiliary verb is called a yes or no question and the other type of sentence consists of a question called tag question. The result shows that there are four forms of interrogative sentence in English used in the film. Those are yes/no interrogative, alternative interrogative, Wh- interrogative, tag question. Yes/no interrogative usually will be answered by yes or no, alternative interrogative offer two or more alternative responses, Wh- interrogative are introduced by Wh- word and they elicit an open ended response, tag question they are sometimes tagged onto the end of a declarative sentence.______________________Keywords: Interrogative Sentence, Grammatical Analysis, Film

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research entitled ”Learning  Activities in Communicative Language Teaching in LPIA (Lembaga Pendidikan Indonesia Amerika)  Ternate” is an attempt to identify and analyze the activities used in  communicative language teaching especially in LPIA Ternate. The concept of Moss (2005) on CLT activities is used to identify the learning activities used in LPIA. These activities are conversation grids, questionnaires, games, information gap, problem solving activities, discussion, and role-play. The data of this research were taken by interviewing the teachers in LPIA and by observing five classes with 25 students’ in each class, about one hour. The data show that the activities of communicative language teaching that were used in LPIA Ternate, are games, pair work or group work and discussion. There are two other additional activities used in class. They are  debate class and e-trip. The results of this research show that the learning activities used in  LPIA Ternate support Moss’ concept. These CLT activities are games, pair work or group work and discussion. Additionally, there are two other CLT activities that were found or used in LPIA. Abstract

ABSTRACT This research entitled ‘Voice in English and Mongondow Language:(A contrastive analysis)”. The aims of this research are identify, to clasify, to analyze and also to contrast, the voice in English and Mongondow Language.This research used a descriptive method. The English data were collected from books and website, while Mongondow languge data were collected from several native speakers who live in Tutuyan, Bolaang Mongondow distirct. The writter used Aarts & Aarts’s theory (1982) in analyzing the data and Lado’s theory (1957) in contrasting both languages to find out their differences.The data in English form consist of modal auxiliary verb, primary auxiliary verb, indirect object, direct object and to be. In Mongondow language consist of indirect and direct object.The result of this research shows that English and Mongondow language have differences in form of voice. Form of active and passive voice in English consist of to be, modal auxiliary verb, primary auxiliary verb, direct object and indirect object. While active and passive voice in Mongondow language only has direct and indirect object. There are 66 active and 66 passive voice in English.Then there are 33 active and passive voice in Mongondow    -------------------------------Keywords : Voice, English, Mongondow

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research entitled “Kata Benda dalam Bahasa Inggris dan Bahasa Mongondow (Suatu Analisis Kontrastif)”. The objects of the research are to identify and classify the kinds and functions of nouns in English and Mongondownese language. The writer used the concept by Thomson and Martinet (1986), and analyzed them by using contrastive analysis to find out the differences based on the theory of Lado (1971). The English data for this research were taken from some grammatical books and Mongondownese data were taken by some informants who speak Mongondow language well. The result shows that there are differences between the function of nouns in English and Mongondow language in terms of function on possessive case. The possessive form in English attach to the subject, but the possessive case in Mongondow language has its own word. Keywords: Nouns in English and Bolaang Mongondow Language: A Contrastive Analysis

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research entitles: “Kemunculan Oedipus Complex dan Konsekuensinya dalam novel Sons and Lovers karya D. H. Lawrence”. This analysis is mainly aimed at finding out the emergences and the consequences of the Oedipus Complex shown by the characters in this novel. This research is conducted in order to answer the two questions: how the emergence appear in the novel and what consequences of Oedipus Complex are. The theory used for this analysis is psychological theory by Sigmund Freud (in Suryabrata, 2012). His theory is about the psychological analysis which is used to analyze the data. There are some steps done in collecting the data after mastering the theory and novel. The collected data is from library and internet research. When the data were collected and identified, the data were rewritten and they were classified according to their types. The results show that there are some aspects that influence the emergence of Oedipus Complex behavior. They are, relationship between mother and son, jealously against brother, violent behavior from a father, and a disharmony family. And the consequences that appear from Oedipus Complex behavior are guilty feeling and self punishment. Keywords: Oedipus Complex, psychology analysis, emergence, consequences
