Abstract

The marine geological and geophysical researches using a single channel seismic method in surrounding Turban water have been supported by echo sounder and marine sediment sampling activities. The single channel seismic record of 300 2 km has been made and it covers the area of about 1500 km . Those seismic profiling is perpendicular to the north coast of East Java with north - south direction and the cross line with east - west direction. The records are supposed to have a clear geological structure. Correlation of the geological structure based on the interpretation of seismic profiling of the sequence IV showed a similar east - west direction with the geological sequences of Rembang Basin. The sequence of sedimentary rocks of the Rembang Basin has been folded and faulted continuously from the land to the sea floor of the Java Sea. Keywords : seismic, echo sounder, geological structure, sequence, Rembang

Abstract

The Semarang area, located in the northen part of Jawa, is an stable area to the subduction earthquake. There fore the active faults, that are originated from the earthquake, have to be concerned. On the landsat imagery there are some lineaments in the Semarang area meanwhile in the field there are some fault including morphotectonic and geological structure features. The morphotectonic features consist of escarpment, and creeping several segments of Garang River, and geological structure features are offset lithology, dragfold and joint in Quaternary rocks of Damar Formation. Based on analysis of the data, the north-south Kali Garang fault indictes an active fault.Keyword: semarang, geological structure, Kali Garang fault, active fault

Abstract

The litology of Cirebon coastal area is alluvium from the Quarternary sediment. The emerged land in Cirebon coastal area is very wide due to a very flat coastal morphology and very high sedimentary in flux, especially in the river mouth area. The bat imetric map at Cirebon waters shows that the shallow water is in Kalijaga river mouth. Sediments are thicker towards Kalijaga and Sukalila river mouths. Further more, the sediment was deposited offshore and to the planning harboursites. Ingeneral, fluvial current is more dominant than longshore and marine currents and it is responsible for sedimentation along the coastalline and the river mouth. Keywords: emergedland, sedimentary influx, Cirebon waters

Abstract

Abstract

The Quaternary deposits in the studied area comprise sand of fluvial origines, separated by clay deposits of swamp, backswamp, and floodplain. The fluvial channel was characterized by the increase and decrease of axial bodies. Vertically, the character of fine-grained deposits showed the changing in colour and percentage of humic and peat contents. Differences in the amount of clastic supply was caused by the changes in climatological conditions. Climate is an important and independent force in controlling the weathering, erosion, and sediment supply to Quaternary deposits of swampy alluvial basin. A systematic change in the type of fluvial system on the swampy alluvial plain could be the result of the changes in the sediment supply and ratio between coarse-grained bedload and suspended load. It means, the sedimentary processes on the basin can develop under the condition of climatic changes. Key words: Quaternary deposit, fluvial, swamp, climate

Abstract

Indramayu coast is characterized by sandy coastal dunes, with mangroves in between. The existence and conservation of mangroves are very important for biogenic gas occurences in this area; while the subsurface paleo sandy coastal dune sare strongly predicted as a gas reservoir. An inventory of Recent sandy dunes using coastal characteristic mapping method is important, because through dune identification; paleo-coastal dune condition that has already been in the subsurface can be identified. Detailed investigation is still required in order to truly invent this biogenic gas potency, before being utilized especially for the local community. The detailed exploration can be done through grid hand auger drillings combined with a subsurface radar for its lateral distributions. Keywords : coastal characteristics, biogenic gas, Indramayu

Abstract

Berdasarkan data kegempaan, daerah Cekungan Luwuk-Banggai kurang prospek terhadap pembangunan konstruksi carbon capture and storage (CCS).

Abstract

The study of molluscs from the Malawa Formation revealed the paleoenvironmental deposition of the formation. Four measured stratigraphic sections which are representastive of the formation contain well preserved molluscan fauna. The results of analysis indicate that the Malawa Formation of Middle Eocene age has been deposited in a mangrove environment, near shore, high energy, with fresh water influx such as rivers, in a lagoon with sand bars, a kind of deltaic environment. Keywords: Malawa Formation, Middle Eocene, molluscs, mangrove, deltaic environment

Abstract

Sadeng valley or ancient river of Sadeng had head water at surrounding Giriwoyo, Wonogiri. Baturetno basin spread outs widely at the south of Wonogiri. When the Old Lawu Mountain erupted, the volcanic products flowed and blocked the Solo River caused big flooding that covered the Baturetno basin. At any time the river might cut the volcanic block, big flooding happed in the valley of the Solo River. As the result, floras and faunas which lived in the valley were got dead. In the next flooding their skeleton were transported and deposited at the Solo terrace. Such things were happened many times. Animal fossils and homonids could possibly much more abundance in the older terraces rather than in the younger one.Key words: Sadeng Valley, Beturetno Basin, Bengawan Solo Terraces, relationship

Abstract

There are four parallel-sided NW-SE trending faults, Budong-budong, Talondo, Keang and Adang Faults in Mamuju and surrounding area. In Early Tertiary, the faults are dextral fault; however the faults are sinistral fault in the MiocenePliocene tectonics. Karama Basin, situated between Budong-budong and Talondo faults consists of Eocene trangressive sedimentary rocks. It is presumed a step over basin of these faults in Early Tertiary. Keywords: Northwest - southeast faults, Karama basin, Mamuju
