Abstract

The problems of stress and failure in emotion management among teenagers have always been a major concern among scholars and practitioners. Recent literature has been trying to find the best formula to help teenagers to control their emotions. This study aims to examine the influence of self-healing on teenagers' emotion management. Based on an experimental-quantitative approach including both pre-test and post-test designs, this study details how structured training and practice of self-healing may help individuals in managing their emotions. By taking a research setting in one of the theoretically selected educational institutions, this study periodically tested and observed 40 students as training participants. As a result, apart from demonstrating the uniqueness osf self-healing training which involves spiritual development processes (e.g., pembaiatan, religious learning) and physical exercise (e.g., pencak silat, relaxed breathing training), the findings also show that self-healing has a positive impact on students' ability to control their emotion.

Abstract

This paper specifically explores the role of the family in shaping the gender identity of shemale and how the gender of shemale refers to their sexual orientation. This research conduct in Yogyakarta with a qualitative research method. Data obtained by using interviews, observation, and documentation. The subjects in this study were six transgender people. The research data was then analyzed by referring to Miles and Huberman's opinion, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. This study shows that the family has a role in shaping the identity of transgender women, both indirectly and indirectly, namely by giving toys that are not by gender, providing bullying with the call of transgender. The family's direct role is to direct children to become transgender women because "Banci" people perceive them as sacred people in some cultures. This study also shows that sexually transgender women are men, while their sexual orientation likes men. Transgender women are categorized as homo because they understand that they have a female soul to carry out roles as women in all respects, including sexual relations.

Abstract

Complete–playtime is an early concept of kindergarten idea. However, recently, children no longer obtain many opportunities to explore themselves through contextual learning activities such as playing drama or listening to tale. Children are focused on academic-centered activities, so they experience learning boredom at an early age. Moreover, students have not owned a school readiness when entering elementary school. This research helps kindergarten students have school readiness like academic skill, emotional-social skill, and morality through storytelling classically. This experimental study used True-Experimental Postest-Only Design. The two kindergartens were selected through cluster sampling from 100 target populations—the data was collected using the Bender Gestalt Test and observation. The series of storytelling activities as a treatment given towards students proved that the experimental group had school readiness earlier than the controlled group. The experimental group possessed more school readiness than the control group, with the difference was 37% age equivalent to eight years old and 29.6% equal to 7 years old. Other purposes accomplished were developing school readiness skills in vocabulary building, active question-answering, positive attitude towards peers, concern towards social environment, and literacy development.

Abstract

Lupus is an autoimmune disease that affects the physical condition and the individual's psychological. Lupus makes teenagers tend to have low subjective well-being. One of the intervention methods to improve personal well-being is through expressive writing. This research aims to observe the effectiveness of expressive writing to improve teenagers' subjective well-being with lupus. This research used one group pretest post-test design involving four people as the subjects (N=4). The data were collected using the measurement tools of Scale of Positive and Negative Experience (SPANE), Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS), interview, observation, and the results of the writing of the subjects during the therapy session. The results of the experimental research were in the form of quantitative analysis with the data analysis technique of the K-related sample test, showing no significant change to the scores of the subjective well-being among the subjects after given the therapy of expressive writing. However, the qualitative results showed that definitive writing therapy could be a catharsis media for teenagers with lupus. Therefore, we can conclude that expressive writing is less effective in improving subjective well-being but can be used as a catharsis media for teenagers with lupus.

Abstract

Nurses hold pivotal role during COVID-19 pandemic through providing care toward the infected patients. Various pressures experienced by the nurses while working with COVID-19 patients affected their mental health states. This systematic review attempted to describe the mental health state of nurses who specifically work with COVID-19 patients. Five journals published in 2020 by international publishers were assessed for the methodological rigorousness including the title and its abstract, introduction and research aims, method and data, sampling, data analysis, ethics and bias, results, transferability, as well as the implications and usefulness. Through rigorous review of five studies using PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses) protocol, the mental health state of the nurses caring for patients diagnosed with COVID-19 patients can be inferred from emotional, cognitive and behavior components, with mental health aspects such as anxiety, anger, fear, sadness, distress, happiness, optimism and germ aversion. Findings from this systematic review can be further developed as a more elaborate research using psychological variables found in nurses caring for COVID-19 patients

Abstract

The existence of transgender in social life still leaves many problems. Negative stigma and discrimination are already firmly attached to them. This problem certainly requires handling so that the negative mindset of transgender women does not only put to something horrible in nature. They also cannot be separated from their natural tendency as religious humans (homo-religious). This study seeks to reveal the religiosity side of transgender women and how they actualize their religious-selves. Because of this reason, the researcher uses the concept of Maslow as self-actualization, then Stark and Glock as religious commitment in the framework of qualitative-phenomenological research. In-depth interviews, observation, and documentation are techniques in extracting data, then analyzed inductively. The results of this study found that the fact, transgender religious behavior fulfills the five dimensions of religion as per the conceptual framework of Stark and Glock as religious commitment. Second, the self-actualization of transgender women in their religious-life also shows that they have an inner need through Nurul Iman jamiyyah. They follow recitation consistently where the senior transgender (adult) has moved to religious maturity that manifested in their daily life by the religious commitment and always follow jamiyyah, and encourage younger transgender women to keep trying to carry out religious-teachings.

Abstract

he resilience process is dynamic, including protective factors, risk factors, and resilient outcomes. The first-year bidikmisi students of Padjadjaran University are considered to have more risk than other students because they have disadvantages in the economic field, adapt to the new environment, and demand immediate education before economics assistance is revoked. Seven critical factors that can support resilience. This study aims to determine the resilience condition of first-year bidikmisi students of Padjadjaran University as data for subsequent policymaking and develop the Reivich-Shatte resilience theory to contribute to the development of science. The research method is the descriptive approach with quantitative data types and 178 sample students (65,7% female). The results showed that most students are at the upper average level on three factors, control, empathy, and connecting & reaching out. Students' perceptions of these factors are adequate, and they need to be accustomed to using them in everyday life so their abilities can be classified as high. Meanwhile, most students are at the lower average for emotional regulation, realistic optimism, causal analysis, and self-efficacy.
